Im going to cover a few more tips, this is from personal experince. 1. Reports & Reporting Keep in mind some players may file reports if they believe youve broken a rule or profile, time and time again ive seen Realism communities turn to toxicity and hate over reports. Please understand the person reporting is human too. Dont call people reporting "petty", state your side of events with ay evidence you have, but dont start going at the throat of the player. 2. Meshing Remember in most realism servers meshing of the dinosaurs model into terrian is not allowed. Try your best to avoid situations where parts of your body (yes, that includes going against a cliff and your head being in it) would go into terrian. 3. Cliff camping & pvp mindset While I understand path of titans is a pvp game, most players join realism servers for just that, realism. Fights can be stressful, but make sure what youre doing is REALISTIC and keep in mind your fellow players, your dinosaur is GOING to die, its apart of life; yes it may be stressful and frustraiting, but remember to think "how would this animal think?" . While cliffcamping (putting yourself against a cliff to make it harder to hit you while you can still easily hit the other player) isnt against some realism servers rules, try to keep in mind weither or not its realistic. Ive had experinces where players will go past threats theyre supposed to be intimidated by (with a large feild or opening behind them) just to put themselves up against a cliff. Unless yu are chased by carnivores to a cliff, try to avoid doing things like that, as it breaks the immursain of many players. 4. Meta-gaming Make sure you dont find people via screenshots, or videos. As well as remeber, if you as a player know somthing wont get any defenders due to profile, would your DINOSAUR know it? Dont go out of your way and around other easy meals (such as hatchlings or smal/weak looking dinos) to go for a big buffy male just because you as a player know it gets no defenders. 5. BE intimidated Not every fight needs to lead to a death, show off how big and scarred you are- how many fights youve won; allow yourself to be intimidated by things like that. Ive found it most fun when playing a dinosaur and gettinf confident enough to go against a iggy, but backing off when i get kicked in the face. Herbivores, make sure to give carbivores time, even for a moment, to posture or back away. If you can let something live, let it live. Let it live with a story to tell.
Interesting. Hadn't thought of diving into this side of the game as felt it's far too detailed but this has helped to see that it can be taken on in chunks and great to hear that there is leeway to learn the game, with your server as a prime example. Keep up the great work! Love a good guide!
It is very detailed and it is hard to learn it all st first. Still looks fun. My own personal hesitation was the rule infractions but seeing that newbies get a grace period for being noobs and aren't thrown to the wolves really has me ready to try now to. I know this comment is 5 months old but how did it go for you? Are you still doing realism or did you go back to semi-realism/official?

I got banned from arazoa after a day of playing after not realizing I had to link my discord to my aldron tag, and islander is always full :( and I can’t find any other good ones with the rules I like and the amount of mods I like

I play on semi realism. I thought about full realism but Jesus all the rules makes it feel like a job more than a game. I wanna have some freedom still but idk if ima get that going into realism

I love realism servers that also have profiles and rules for the individual creatures themselves. Really helps keep things feeling unique and doesn't feel like all herbis are lumped together as one, or all carnis behaving practically the same as each other with the sole expectation of hunting other players. Like you could play as something that's only allowed to eat fish like a Sucho, or only allowed to eat insects and critters, like a Compy. Allowing for different and unique experiences during your playthrough. Instead of every carni being expected to hunt other dinos. Some realism servers don't really do this though, and do tend to make rules that just apply to all carnis and herbis. Which is okay but sometimes I struggle to know what exactly I'm allowed to try and hunt if I'm a smaller carni, or if I'm allowed to fight attackers as a medium-sized herbi. Helps to have detailed profiles of the specific creatures imo.
I agree, profiles that are unique to each creature is something we strive for. We have some awesome profile writers and the reception for our newer profiles has been fantastic.
At Archaios we have Educators that are specifically there to help new realism players and new players in general. If you do buy it then hit one of our Educators up in the discord (link in description) 😊
Discord is required for this server. Our staff team doesn't have any power trip members. We focus heavily on staff etiquette, remaining neutral, trusting and empathy. Any sign of a power trip is stomped out early in the training process and we have let staff go for any power trip behaviour.
I wanted to join a semi realiziom. I been on a pve rebirth server and they are so strict you cant do anything but sit in ic. Cant hang out anywhere else. Cant use heal command when they GIVE it to you :/. Idk rebirth is just full of itself and so greedy. The server holds like 20 people amd they have like 260+ and still whine the community is small thats because its garbage 😂an those people in the server see the admins gettijg onto people for no reason at all. With the petty bullshi on rebirth and how the admins are ive thought about leaving and going to a semi realiziom But i dont have friends to play with so ill be going in blind lol
Realism tend to be stricter with rules due to the nature of the gameplay people want. However that being said if run properly then semi realism and realism servers can thrive given time and the right decisions being made by the staff. The most important thing for new realism servers is to ensure the staff team isn't abusing their powers. On Archaios we slam down heavy on staff power abuse and I'm pleased to say we have a good staff team that works with the community, taking on suggestions and actively listening to the player base. It makes running the server much easier and the community certainly feels listened too and valued.
one thing i need help with is getting into discord. basically it needed a verification and so i put in my email and phone number, but it never actually sends me the verification, ive tried redoing it and changing the email (it wont let me change my phone number) do you know how i can fix that?

That can be frustrating for sure, however on Archaios we don't have that issue as IC is not part of the playable area.

I was doing good with free dinos, as soon as I took trex to play, everyone attacking me for no reason
Rex is always targeted in pvp servers and officials. In realism most things are scared of a fully grown rex as it is an apex after all!
