The FiiO BTA30 Pro (~US$120) is one of my favorite audio devices. I have two...one for the office, which I use:
A) in DAC mode for my vintage Hitachi SR-503L and Marantz EQ20; or
B) as a BT 5.2 transmitter (TX mode) to my various BT devices (Muse HiFi M4, FiiO BTR5, KZ AZ09 Pro/CCA BTX)
and the other for the family room, where I use it as a BT5.2 receiver (RX mode) for streaming in LDAC codec from my Android phone to my vintage Hitachi SR-903.
This little device is extremely versatile, with plenty of CODEC support (LDAC, AptX HD, AptX LL, AptX, SBC, AAC). It is also nicely built, having an ALU chassis. I did upgrade the antenna (12dB) for extended range ($12).
Awsome...looking forward to seeing the new equipment in action.

Often dacs will self dither.. ie 24bit dac chip will dither the absolute last significant bit. For dithether to work for you you might have a 32bit sound that is going to an un dithered dac that you know is 24bit and you don't want to hear crackles when it tails out. If your altering the gain.. forget it and trust that the dac is handling such things.
great video i only hope REW gives some type of payments which i really would like to see mutually, Because you are the only guy that is doing more thing than the maker, Am sure alot of perple includeing myself have already downloaded it, I have seen the numbers apart from that i only hope that since you are taking REW to a new level them ent decied to make it free again.
That's some nice equipment, and here I'm just trying to figure out if the front or rear outputs on my factory head unit are worse. :D
Haha, front and rears will be identical as in the HU there is a 4ch chip with identical performance for all channels.
@@RAW-CAt I believe the radio is "upgraded" from my last car, but testing the fronts vs rears with an o-scope on my last car, the rears were slightly lower voltage and clipped at a higher volume level compared to the front. I'm assuming is the filters the OEM radio has.
Unfortunately there is no way to get a cleaner signal out, but that is going into a KeyLOC is just for daily listening or road trips. I have a USB to optical for critical listening.

Can you show a typical setup with the new equipment? I think I've tried to use different source and input w REW but ran into a hangup

Can you measure distortion profile? The number of gain stages and see if the amplifier is a high negative feed back amplifier. I watched another video mocking diy testers.
Not gonna lie - don't know how to do that. I can measure the distortion profile to see individual harmonics. As well dependance on output power and frequency. But not gain stages.
Have you a suggestion for an ADC that can measure DC? Straight outbof the box, no mods.
How about a scope or a multimeter?
