Thank you good video it looks like a lot of work question where is the Kenmore gas dryer 700 series Thermal fuse Located at the front or the back thank you for the video hope to hear from you
@@jimdencie8947 it depends on the model. Some have a back that comes off. Some you have to go from the front like this one. What is your model number? It’s inside the door usually
@@muziklvr7776 yes for real!!! Why do you never change the old Maytag element? They just never go bad. But here are dryers needing them under warranty. That’s pretty crazy.
I went step for step on the element change part, but I noticed when I buttoned everything back one and turned the dryer on for a couple minutes there was a burning smell. Is this normal will it go away ? I’ve also vacuumed up any lint I found.
@@JoeRuiz-g6n sometime you get a “new element smell” is what I call it. But it’s burning off the oils and what not from manufacturing the element. It happens with oven elements too. I would let it run and make sure it goes away.
Hey Buddy, I think i have the same problem. Going to order the part on amazon and attempt to change it. Im not too mechanically inclined but for a DIYer that is comfortable with putting in switches and plugs and running wire, can you tell me how difficult this is on a scale of 1-10?
@@R0bertJ0hns0n1983 very simple. Just take your time. And take pictures easy. Watch out for the really cheap elements they usually don’t last. But sometimes they do. I usually use oem parts if possible.
@@LAapplianceguy so I got everything out and it looks like it is definitely the heating coil. But I have the small little wire that's attached to the first terminal. Do I just yank it
Thanks!
@@tommyj8476 👍thanks for watching and commenting. Hope it helped some.

Modern heating elements must really suck these days. The original heating element in my 1976 Maytag dryer is almost 50 years old.

Where did you buy parts from? I can't seem to find this dryer online?

@@R0bertJ0hns0n1983 watch out for the cheap ones. They sometimes last a month or so.
