Just a few additional, possibly helpful tips. The app was designed to make it easy to fill the chart window with the plot of each trend, but these features are somewhat hidden. For example, to fill the amount of vertical space that a trend consumes, first select that trend in the legend and then use the vertical compress/expand buttons (next to the snapshot button) to change the y-scale values such that the line shape changes accordingly. But those values are changed according to the following: if the user has clicked in the chart to show the "cursor" line (the dotted line representing the time for which values in the legend are shown), then where that cursor intersects the selected line will act as an anchor so that the intersection of the trend and the cursor will not move... the rest of the line moves but that point remains stationary. So for example, consider a square wave... if the user drags the y-scale such that the lower portion of the square wave line is near the bottom of the view, then click the mouse such that the cursor crosses that lower value and then click the expand/compress buttons to adjust the top of the line where it is required. If the user clicks somewhere in the future, then that vertical cursor disappears and there is no anchoring applied to the expand/compress buttons and line will be adjusted keeping the middle of the scale fixed.
Also, the feature to change the start time of a trend is arguably difficult to use. This feature is mostly used to compare batches, but can be applied any time it is desirable to compare a response to a previous response, such as tuning a loop. Another hidden feature is to use the alt and shift buttons to assist with a mouse drag of a line. To use this feature more than one value must be plotted. Consider comparing the response of a loop during the tuning process. Plot the same value twice (i.e.: OUT or PV). Then separate these plots by clicking on one of the y-scales and dragging the scale up or down. It may be helpful to change the plotting style to Line with Points, so that the points are visible. Hover the mouse over a point until it becomes the "pointing" cursor, and then click and hold down the mouse button. With just the mouse button clicked, the line can be moved up and down. But if the Shift button is clicked at the same time, the line can be time shifted. This can allow fine tuning of the position of the trends so that the start of the response to a process upset can be aligned vertically. The Alt button allows the trend line to be moved both horizontally and vertically at the same time such that the two responses can be placed such that the start of the response is at the exact same point on the screen showing exactly how the loop responds to the new tuning values.

Does anyone know how to change the default trend colors? It's a pain to change them every time we create a new chart.
