Mandalorian culture revolves around honor in combat and family (EU but also foundlings). They have a home planet, despite leading a nomadic lifestyle, foods and drinks specific to their culture, religion, unique gear, and a language.

Boba Fett was raised by his father Jango Fett so that makes him a Mandalorian too. The main character In the mandalorian was ALSO found by Mandalorians and raised by them. So IN conclusion, THEY ARE ALL MADALORIANS!

I confirm this is true Nightlock. I went back and read a full bio on him from SW the Attack of the Clones visual guide and it said the same thing that both his parents where killed and Jango was found and raised by a true Mandolorian. So all this Jango/Boba bashing is really starting to rub me the wrong way, I know goerge lucas has said in the past that the Fetts are not true Mandolorians but outlaws and he needs to change his stance on this because he didnt think that Boba Fett would have such a cult-like following after "Empire" and he probably wouldn't have killed him off so quickly TROTJ. We all know these characters are iconic and need a better backstory and boba character needs to be brought back in the Madolorian and his character and story need to be treated with some respect and trepidation because this D+ show or the Mando lore in general wouldn’t even exist without the Fetts in the first place. Dont get me wrong Mando is really cool and all but he’s no Boba or Jango Fett for that matter. Mason Fong Boba and Jango were both Mandalorian, at least in legends and were Mand’alor. They also both followed the Supercommando Codex so this video is a little inaccurate, at least when referring to legends.

If you practice a culture, you practice it. You don't listen to reggae music and say you're a part of African culture dude. Wearing his dads armor isn't enough and that's that. Sons wear their fathers armor to show respect or to honor them in very very many cultures.
I've said the same thing for years now, but the lightsabers cauterize the wounds because how hot they are. With that being said, I'd love it if characters used tons of vulgar language and sweared frequently, had rapist and twisted villains (not just villains like they've always had that just basically kill people and that's it lol). Basically Game of Thrones and Star Wars combined. Imagine a villain like Ramsey Bolton in the Star Wars series, no more immense amounts of plot armor for characters (if they get themselves in a shootout like the Mandalorian did in the last episode, they'd be dead.), guts and gore from non-laser weapons like explosions, knives and fist fights, TONS and TONS of swearing, and stuff like that.

The series kinda sucks tbh. The main character is just boring. He has no cool quotes, he rarely shows much skill, anytime someone shoots him theres no fear of him dying cause his armor just deflects it cause that makes sense. The story is so predictable, I feel like I know how each episode is gonna go right at the beginning. And sometimes he just acts like a completely different person. Its entertaining but i think the storytelling is hot garbage
Kevin Brown There is a lot of Sergio Leon in this series. It kind of reminds me of “a man with no name” just set in space. Instead of “Blondie ” he is “Mando”. Maybe it is Clint Eastwood under that armor!
I truly believe that the future of Star Wars is the small screen. Movies don’t seem to work anymore. Fans want character development and lore. You can’t flesh those things out in two hours.

They then found the planet mandelore, where they found beskar steel. There’s a pretty good video called the complete history of the mandelorians that goes into more detail.
If you read the legends books. There are a few in new jedi order book series as well as legacy of the force where boba fett is a very well rounded character. If you go off the movies alone the fetts both jango and boba are nothing more than throw away characters

For the history of the Mandalorians Lucasfilm should have used, people need to check out Karen Traviss’ Republic Commando novels. A much more compelling set of stories about clones, Jango, and Mandalore than the back story Lucasfilm used in the Clone Wars cartoon. Also, check out the “Open Seasons” Jango Fett comic for an excellent origin story for Jango. Honestly, as much as I’ve been enjoying the Mandalorian, it pisses me off that Lucasfilm is trying to make Jango and Boba monstrous villains with no redeeming qualities! They are my favorite characters, and I’ve been waiting for 40 years for them to do something exciting with them on film, but I guess they are going to crap on them just like they did to Luke and company in the sequels. No matter what, they’ll always be the “good but bad” guys to me, sorta like the “Man with No Name” in the old spaghetti westerns, and I will continue to root for them!

If Lucas was more of an artist, he would have not been so flaky with his material. Less fans, though. I for example have never read any novels. I support you statement. They have ruin the mystic of Boba Fett. Before the prequels it was told that Boba used a armour from an ancient warrior people called mandalorian. This made him mystic and exotic because that was all we knew of him. The prequels took some of this away but was an ok story with him being a clone of Jango. With the ancestry of mandalore jango and boba was still awsome. But now Disney is is using Bobas and jangos fame to push this new character. Same armour, bunty hunter from mandalore etc.
Trygve Klepp That’s just disrespecting all the lore of the mandalorians. Boba and Jango are more or less just bounty hunters which use the armor of the mandalorians. The old republic games showed a good ammount of what the real mandalorian culture was like.
I prefer the Fetts not being mandalorian as mandalorians are from a brutal culture who's honour is built around conquest and battle for the sake of being the best. They have massacred countless worlds and civilisations. The Fett's are more about personal honour, their word is their bond and if you hire them to do a job they will do so to the highest standard. They won't turn on you and break their word like "Mando" did. To them their reputation comes first and their quality of work is all.
Republic Commando was my favorite series. I am still sad there was no conclusion to the books. Karen Traviss is a great writer. I wish Disney would hire her on to work on the Old Republic movies. If it ever gets green lite for filming.

Clearly we see flashbacks of Mando’s childhood of his parents being killed by droids, which is probably why he hates them, and we all know Mace Windu mopped up Boba’s dad right in front him in EP 2. Plus they clearly state the Empire is no more in the show which means the whole show takes place after Bobas death.

Thats well said. But the baby yoda did save his life from the mudhorn...that is when something changed. The whole thing is tricky because they did that scene well as Kuiil and Mando traveled back to the ship with the parts...we were left to pick apart what we know. Mando has to know what the force was and had to know force sensitive beings existed. So I think he may be keeping tight lipped about what happened. So he feels compelled and drawn to the baby yoda as a protective father if you will. Anyway I love the show and cannot wait to see more. Is Gina Carano just another bounty hunter? Meh who knows
Ok..just because of a throw away line in Clone Wars that most people don't even understand properly..does not mean Jango or Boba are therefor NOT Mandalorians..."Jango was disavowed by the Mandalorian government"..Yes because under Satine the planet of Mandalor were neutral pacifists and didn't want connections with the old Mandalorian conduct of war mongers, or splinter groups like Death Watch, or the New Mandalorians, and if word got out that Jango was affiliated with the republic it would VOID their neutral stance... Isn't it interesting that Boba Fett holds the gun in his left hand, because he tends to shoot the wrist mounted weapons from his right, and then Jango uses blasters in both hands. I like how they are both implied to be ambidextrous. This skill would be a cool way for Boba to defeat Mando.

Lucas said they aren't. My theory is that they are going to set up the fett clan as outcasts. I imagine Jango committed a cardinal sin. Knowing his warrior culture would execute him he went into hiding. He was also more interested I imagine in money over the mandalorian way of life. So he found refuge on camino. A heavily guarded top secret planet were he would get paid for his Genes. It was so secret that he and boba were there that obi wan and yoda didnt know he was there till they visited the planet and by that time they had thousands of clones produced already. So I imagine jango was a foundling but he and his clan may have put money over their way of life and was cut off and was suppose to be put to death but instead fled before being executed. This could be a great way for lucas to establish the ma5how he wants (seemingly to resemble samurai and ronin) while honoring the fetts as characters

Mango was a mercenary, but Boba remembers him through a child’s eyes, seeing only the ambiguous morality he was taught, not affected by adult concerns of business and prosperity. All that was needed was devotion to the Mando. Put simply, the Mando, whilst unmistakable violent, were also unmistakable caring. If you wore the armour, you were not a man. Not a woman. After being dissatisfied with the recent Star Wars mythology, I was pestered by a friend at work to watch this series. *"It will restore your faith in the franchise. The show's wicked."* Bold words, but when I find time I'll give it a go.
My only problem with this is that Mandalorian are not a species or a race at least not that we no of in cannon. They used to be a race of warriors but have long faded away like the real sith species. Anybody can be a Mandalorian if they live as a Mandalorian. I know this is from the EU but Merta GeV Boba Fetts Grand daughter in the EU said it best. “Family is more then blood it’s about who raises you cares for you and takes you in”. And Mandalorian take in anyone who will be like them. That is what made them strong

the only thing you left out was that fact that if that is “the” yoda that is reportedly only 50 years old in the time of the mandalorian show, that would mean it takes place hundreds of years before any of them were even thought of.

So all this Jango/Boba bashing is really starting to rub me the wrong way, I know goerge lucas has said in the past that the Fetts are not true Mandolorians but outlaws and he needs to change his stance on this because he didnt think that Boba Fett would have such a cult-like following after "Empire" and he probably wouldn't have killed him off so quickly TROTJ. We all know these characters are iconic and need a better backstory and boba character needs to be brought back in the Madolorian and his character and story need to be treated with some respect and trepidation because this D+ show or the Mando lore in general wouldn’t even exist without the Fetts in the first place. Dont get me wrong Mando is really cool and all but he’s no Boba or Jango Fett for that matter. The Mandolorians are like Samurai they are fueled by honor and have a sense of pride for their culture and family but the Fetts are a little different they alot like ninja their assassins for hire because the empire has the big $$$ in the universe. But all the Mandos in this series seem to be hired guns and are interested in the $$$ also but they use the bounty for better weapon upgrades, jet packs and beskar armor. Sorry for extra long comment but i love Star Wars and have been a fan since I was 5 back in 1980 and Looper needs to get their facts straight sometimes.

Man, think about how gore filled a Star Wars movie could be if it was rated R, think of the light sabers.
A lightsaber burns, it wouldn't be much blood at all.
I've said the same thing for years now, but the lightsabers cauterize the wounds because how hot they are. With that being said, I'd love it if characters used tons of vulgar language and sweared frequently, had rapist and twisted villains (not just villains like they've always had that just basically kill people and that's it lol).
Basically Game of Thrones and Star Wars combined. Imagine a villain like Ramsey Bolton in the Star Wars series, no more immense amounts of plot armor for characters (if they get themselves in a shootout like the Mandalorian did in the last episode, they'd be dead.), guts and gore from non-laser weapons like explosions, knives and fist fights, TONS and TONS of swearing, and stuff like that.

The series kinda sucks tbh. The main character is just boring. He has no cool quotes, he rarely shows much skill, anytime someone shoots him theres no fear of him dying cause his armor just deflects it cause that makes sense. The story is so predictable, I feel like I know how each episode is gonna go right at the beginning. And sometimes he just acts like a completely different person. Its entertaining but i think the storytelling is hot garbage

For the history of the Mandalorians Lucasfilm should have used, people need to check out Karen Traviss’ Republic Commando novels. A much more compelling set of stories about clones, Jango, and Mandalore than the back story Lucasfilm used in the Clone Wars cartoon. Also, check out the “Open Seasons” Jango Fett comic for an excellent origin story for Jango.
Honestly, as much as I’ve been enjoying the Mandalorian, it pisses me off that Lucasfilm is trying to make Jango and Boba monstrous villains with no redeeming qualities! They are my favorite characters, and I’ve been waiting for 40 years for them to do something exciting with them on film, but I guess they are going to crap on them just like they did to Luke and company in the sequels. No matter what, they’ll always be the “good but bad” guys to me, sorta like the “Man with No Name” in the old spaghetti westerns, and I will continue to root for them!

If Lucas was more of an artist, he would have not been so flaky with his material. Less fans, though. I for example have never read any novels. I support you statement. They have ruin the mystic of Boba Fett. Before the prequels it was told that Boba used a armour from an ancient warrior people called mandalorian. This made him mystic and exotic because that was all we knew of him. The prequels took some of this away but was an ok story with him being a clone of Jango. With the ancestry of mandalore jango and boba was still awsome. But now Disney is is using Bobas and jangos fame to push this new character. Same armour, bunty hunter from mandalore etc.

Boba and Jango are more or less just bounty hunters which use the armor of the mandalorians. The old republic games showed a good ammount of what the real mandalorian culture was like.
I prefer the Fetts not being mandalorian as mandalorians are from a brutal culture who's honour is built around conquest and battle for the sake of being the best. They have massacred countless worlds and civilisations.
The Fett's are more about personal honour, their word is their bond and if you hire them to do a job they will do so to the highest standard. They won't turn on you and break their word like "Mando" did. To them their reputation comes first and their quality of work is all.
Republic Commando was my favorite series. I am still sad there was no conclusion to the books. Karen Traviss is a great writer. I wish Disney would hire her on to work on the Old Republic movies. If it ever gets green lite for filming.

And I'm glad they're making a new character that lives in a time post episode 6, instead of recycling the same characters and stories. Having the Mandalorian be a new character living post RotJ gives the writers much more freedom to do what they want.

Thats well said. But the baby yoda did save his life from the mudhorn...that is when something changed. The whole thing is tricky because they did that scene well as Kuiil and Mando traveled back to the ship with the parts...we were left to pick apart what we know. Mando has to know what the force was and had to know force sensitive beings existed. So I think he may be keeping tight lipped about what happened. Lucas said they aren't. My theory is that they are going to set up the fett clan as outcasts. I imagine Jango committed a cardinal sin. Knowing his warrior culture would execute him he went into hiding. He was also more interested I imagine in money over the mandalorian way of life. So he found refuge on camino. A heavily guarded top secret planet were he would get paid for his Genes. It was so secret that he and boba were there that obi wan and yoda didnt know he was there till they visited the planet and by that time they had thousands of clones produced already. So I imagine jango was a foundling but he and his clan may have put money over their way of life and was cut off and was suppose to be put to death but instead fled before being executed. This could be a great way for lucas to establish the ma5how he wants (seemingly to resemble samurai and ronin) while honoring the fetts as characters

If he brought boba up to follow that code that makes boba a mandalorian too. The problem is George Lucas has muddied the waters by saying those books and comics dont count as canon anymore. I like how Mando isn't a Marty Stu. He is very skilled yet usually gets saved by others and always gets his ass kicked all the time.

What people don’t get is the Mandalorian takes place AFTER return fo the Jedi. So baby yoda isn’t actually yoda and the mandalorian is not Boba Fett

It’s worth noting that beskar is one of few materials resistant to the blade of a lightsabre. This hints at the the history of the people (Mandalore?) and their relationship with force users.
We have seen that many Mando adopt unembellished armour, but equally, there are others who have a palette on their bodies. (Did anyone else notice that the Armourer’s colours echoed those of Iron Man? Favrau tipping his hat?)
Mango was a mercenary, but Boba remembers him through a child’s eyes, seeing only the ambiguous morality he was taught, not affected by adult concerns of business and prosperity. His own code was known to be somewhat unfathomable, but he was also known to indulge in acts of kindness if it met his moral standard.
That he went on to become the head of the clan (a diverse clan, one where his deputy was homosexual and who adopted an orphaned child without discussion with his husband speaks to this diversity) at no time were any person questioned on their motivations or background. All that was needed was devotion to the Mando.
Put simply, the Mando, whilst unmistakable violent, were also unmistakable caring. If you wore the armour, you were not a man. Not a woman. Not an alien. Not an adult. Not a child. You were a Mando. That simple.
Boba was just another facet of the tribe.

My only problem with this is that Mandalorian are not a species or a race at least not that we no of in cannon. They used to be a race of warriors but have long faded away like the real sith species. Anybody can be a Mandalorian if they live as a Mandalorian. I know this is from the EU but Merta GeV Boba Fetts Grand daughter in the EU said it best. “Family is more then blood it’s about who raises you cares for you and takes you in”. And Mandalorian take in anyone who will be like them. That is what made them strong

This all needs to stop. Jango was Mando, hell he was THE Mandalore, defacto leader of all Mandalorians. And while Boba had a slow start, he too adopted the culture long after his father's death and also became Mandalore.

the only thing you left out was that fact that if that is “the” yoda that is reportedly only 50 years old in the time of the mandalorian show, that would mean it takes place hundreds of years before any of them were even thought of.
This video is dumb, anyone who actually likes star wars would know that the Mandelorian and Boba Fett are just different people.
Boba fett may know some ways of the mandalorians and wear their armor but he is not a reaal mandalorian
Mandalorians are strong warriors living for war for the battle not some low level bounty hunters
