Hey, I know that guy!
Oh do you now
Matt Lowe, in the flesh.
Rule Britannia!
no u dont
Somehow unsubbed…resubbing in 3..2..1
“I’m intrigued by how KSP can be played as an esport”
“I’m intrigued by a tax-deductible trip to Paris”
"Above and beyond" is an understatement. They asked for ten tons of payload, and you gave them the infrastructure needed for a self-sufficient Mars colony.
What a set of absolutely dapper gentlemen who deeeefinitely are in a hostile rivalry between eachother
You can tell how much they hate each others guts
How to Win a KSP e-Sport event
1. Spend tens of thousands of hours playing KSP
2. Become a literal aerospace engineer (easy after step 1!)
3. ???
4. Profit!
Congrats!
You forgot to do the Kraken Blood Sacrifices.
how to win ksp contest:
1. kraken drive
2. profit
don't do it. kraken drives are probably not allowed.
Matt collapsing into a black hole the moment real solar system was mentioned
Can't believe I got my two seconds of glory by slandering the Beardy Brits, call *that* a success !
It truly was an honor to face off with you guys. While the game was "rigged from the start" as it were, you did go above and beyond with the objective, and the presentation was very solid. Overall, me and my teammate were very happy with how things turned out, and we had lots of fun, which was our main concern.
Anyways, take care, and we'll get you next time! - Alex from S.S.T.O., tied in 3rd place (damn you CERES!)
Congrats again from KSC (Kerbal Space Challenge)! In fact our association makes up the challenge, we are hosted by Spacecon which is a so incredible and reliable partner, they organize the event with Omen which provides the PCs. Unfortunately I was the only member of the association who could not be present as I am now located overseas at Kourou so I am happy to finally see what you delivered :) Good point for the AZERTY keyboard, next time we will ask OMEN to provide a few spares of QUERTYs. Look forward to seeing you one day :)
maybe stock some non FR layout keyboards? :P
I was unaware of this competition, but I would love to see your presentation! Perhaps as a follow up video?
Sure! I'll post the uncut presentations when Matt posts his video
Excellent!
Matt's video with the full presentation has posted. That man is a machine.😮
@gilbertanderson3456 I saw, it was awesome!
Matt lowne is now even brighter in my eyes. Voted to stay.
I laughed way too hard at the "Hey Hey" from Marcus
Two KSP legends in one video. Couldn't ask for more! ❤
What a shame they didn't stream it!!!! I would have love to cheer for you guys
That's one point of improvement for next edition we will try to tackle.
@@spacecon_io thank you!!!!!!!
spent hours changing the keyboard settings and yet still destroyed us i dont even know what to feel at that point
if i had 3 hours to cut down a tree id spend the first hour sharpening my axe.. abraham lincoln..
im so glad you got to meet a fan, if i ever find myself at such events ill be sure to look you up :D
What a great event. We need more non-shooter, non-mmo esport events like this. Way more room for creativity.
Is there a recording of all of the presentations? And a mission or config or something to try this challenge myself?
Congrats guys, from the second place ! You were truly ahead of anyone else, muscular memory really paid off :p Amazing Crafts, Amazing Showcase, Amazing Talk, can't compete !...
... This time ;)
Quality reply, top competitors and an amazing video. You should post your side of the Comp as well next time - it would be amazing to see it from all the teams angles before finding out the outcome at the end... much more exciting - would require serious collaberation!!!!!
Wow. You two did some amazing work. I think I am a competent KSP player but that was far beyond what I would have been able to do for sure. Congratulations!
1:47 I need to rewatch that video from which you took this scene. I really cracked up when the camera swung over to Matt sitting fully clothed in his shower chugging that whiskey.
I think including principia on the mod list would have been an interesting mix up for all the teams involved. Even though it would have likely resulted in half the competitors not even making it out of an Earth centered frame of reference.
i feel like the point of this competition was to see what should be done in the real world so definitely principia and full scale real solar system and realism overhaul but i assume they determined no one would know how to do anything in that mode. this is interesting but its basically just a cartoon.. that 45 tons is basically all cheese..
@@thothheartmaat2833 They'd have to make it a 24 month competition instead of 24 hours if they wanted anyone to get to Mars in RO/Principia (not to say I wouldn't watch that).
i dont think so.. with the way the rules were set they only had to prove one launch then they could teleport every other launch plus with time fast forwarding it works the same in rss as it does in stock so farther distances dont really mean anything. the point is this was officially hosted by nasa and i think theyre looking for realistic data to use for actual real life missions.. they should just let everyone know that this competition will use ro/ principia and actual scale rss and people just need to get good at that.. i also have other ideas where mods combine kerbal with arma and we get down to business with the future of the space force.. @@kaigdoa893rhkpp
Dang when i see the comment section i see a lot of names also present in the discord, hi everyone.
The modpack used was a blast and forced us to actively think about costs and what some team did where crazy
Fantastic work Beardy. This video was also quite funny to watch. Well done with the editing.
awesome job!!!!
It was so nice to have both of you here in Paris !
Cheers from France !
gg (and sorry for the typo @MattLowne)
The two of my favourite ksp producers working together 👌👍🏼
damn, now I want to watch the presentation !
Been waiting content from Matt on this, but WOW. You flew right past the other contestants with your missions. Congrats!
One can only hope that the next event is ten times larger and ten times more competitive!
Congratulations on a mission and job well done
Wow! That was awesome. You guys did such an incredible job. I gotta say it even though you've probably heard it a million times by now.
Any chance you could post the rules of this contest? Could be fun as a bit of light relief between REAL (RP-1) missions…
Very impressive and i was the same, KSP Esports really, but i am soo supprised i think it is very wel suited for it!
Congrats! 🎉
We were vey happy to welcome you (was part of the org), congratulations !
Congrats man, this was awesome! You deserve it!
Organizers: “Okay, we just need 10 tonnes to Mars”
Team Brexit: “…Mars Colony is the best I can do, sorry”
Oh I thought this already happened any I couldn't find footage, how exciting! Well done guys
Well deserved victory beardy! You and Matt deserved it!
Next time, I will come back stronger ! ^^
Oh wow! This was a great video to watch! Congrats to you both! I’ve always enjoyed your content.
an entirely commendable challenge, and to think you succeeded too!
Devoured, ate, left no crumbs
watched the mattlowne video already just have to say its beautiful to see a kinda developer and architect work together like this. congrats on having won the competition!
Just finished matt lowne's video speaking about this contest 😆
This is just the beginning of the British Kerbal Empire!
"The first question we got asked: Wonbonhondongondon?"
Seriously though I have no clue what so ever what that guy said.
I'm friends with one of the organizers so some of my videos were playing on the big screen during... well, I'm not sure if it was during this or earlier, but it was during spacecon. I think nepotism is a good policy lol
It's nice that you're uploading again. I'm here for it👍
I really would like to see these events more, seems really awesome!
congrats!!!!
This video is a banger ! Nice result you guys blew it out of the park
Glad to see you again bro 👍🏼
Yes KSRSS!!!!
My fav mod
Congrats on your awesome win! RSS but at stock Kerbal scale? Where do I get the relevant mods from, please?
it's called KSRSS reborn. it has larger scale by default, need to modify settings to make it kerbin scale. very nice pack, it already has eve and scatterer config in it
I wonder if we may ever see Beardy without a turtle neck on.
Holy shit I can't believe yall did that on my birthday
You guys straight up an inspiration. Totally deserved win. Congrats from argentina ;)
I knew you guys would be the perfect combination. Like pizza and ranch
Well done to the both of ya.
looks like alot of fun! Gratz guys!!!
In the business we call this uber nerd energy.
And I love it.
that Marcus House "Hey Hey" at 3:12 had me dying
Realisim Overhaul e-sport next🤔?
I'd love to see that presentation!
congrats you two
Hey hey. Set control schemes to Space Australian. Time to get to Maaahs.
...
Its just a short walk down the space driveway.
Ngl the hats are the best part
Huge congrats Team Beardy Brits! 👏
5:16 the one mistake that unites all ksp players .
And if ever the nasa joke : it worked in ksp is applicable , its probably here .
Going a bit further than anyone else is one thing.... But completely flexing on them like this is brutal.
@MattLowne / @Beardy Penguin - Not sure if it's possible to collaberate with other teams next time for the purpose of making big video after it's finished, showing all the teams angles before reveal of mission outcomes at the end? - Maybe more exciting?! ... and I'd watch 12 hours of this NP! :D
Sorry I forgot to say absolutely epic solution to the challenge btw!
Beardy is beardy again! Nature is healing!
"I've updated the firmware"
_Pries the keys off the keyboard._
And people wonder why the British lost the Empire.
Epic video
Loving the pokemon background music
10:17 and felt pretty cereal
lol, you won because Scott Manley wasn't there. I'd love to see Carnasa+Stratzenblitz team next time. congratulations, it was an amazing effort!
I din't know that such game can have esport
New Beardy video!!!!
Wha- why did they price the nerva out of usability? Nuclear engines would generate much less waste? more controlable where the worst of it goes?
In a nutshell, probably due to the risk of nuclear waste falling out of the sky if something went wrong.
Maybe just because realistically we don't have them yet
@@ScienceRules118they are French they produce like 80% of their electricity with nuclear power plants that would be the last thing they'd worry about
@@hansschmidt884 NASA & DARPA have actually restarted the NERVA project as DRACO earlier this year, and later announced the reactor + fuel to be supplied by BWX Technologies.
nice video
Room 42 ❤️
Marcus House jumpscare
Congrats from Russia
What is the question asked by the audience?
I repeated the question in the microphone but probably should have put a subtitle there!
He asked how we got so much done in the time we had
Team BeardedBrits brought the full on Brexit Energy to this
Having Kerbals vote leave on Earth Orbit, land on Mars establish a Kerballed Colony just to return to where they come from because there it's not so desolate
But damn did you guys go all in with the Quadruple Payload
But no without joking now, it's damn impressive what you guys archived in this timeframe and competition
I also drink Jim Beam on the toilet when i have a nervous breakdown.
Matt didn't mention the break down and booze heheheha
FYI, this is why a lot of esports players just bring their own keyboards. Well, one of the reasons why. And mouse, and headphones.
Also, is there anywhere i can see at least second places mission? and 3rd and 4th if all possible.. there wasnt a mention at all at how much you crushed them by =\
is there any way we can see the presentation?
Britannia! Britannia rules the stars!
THE PLUCKY BRIT'S BRING HOME A VICTORY! WELL DONE CHAPPS! HAVE A Cup OF IRISH BREAKFAST TEA FROM Thompson's teas AND CELEBRATE!
you cant be overqualified for esports.. being a proper astrophysicist is just how you excel at ksp..
9:10 can someone tell me what he said
My favorite youtuber batt gowne
There's something strange about KSP youtubers going up against each other. You even give them no framework and let them go nuts on their own or you give them a very specific goal and watch them fight tooth and nail over every metre per second of delta V used.
The most interesting KSP challenge that I've seen is limiting the mission by in game time. Who can get to a planet and back fastest do you wait for a good launch window to get gravity assistance or you just burn.
how much did you win?
Is FAKK being worked on? If yes how far in the year are you?
Great win
But for real contract giving company could only fund their request probably and would probably not accept your idea.
Doesnt matter how good it is
