    thank you tech guy. I got excel 21 and I clicked on your video explaining the text import wizard. Everything was importing to a table format and I only wanted the data without the table. That 15 second review saved me from pulling my hair out. Thank you so much!!

    Filaly the best series are here. Will wait next. I hawe the question. Is it possible load from folder multiple workbooks with multiple worksheets and chose specific tables to combine them? Thanks in advance.

    • @TeachExcel
      @TeachExcel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. The main thing is how you want to do it. Take a look at the Consolidate feature and I think that will get you pretty far in this case. Data tab > Consolidate.

    • @allabout1135
      @allabout1135 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TeachExcel Thanks I find already solution. It is actualy wery simple. New Query from folder. And there in further steps can get all specific data.There can sort and pick just needed data. Amazing discovery and works perfect.

    • @ExcelSquad
      @ExcelSquad 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@allabout1135 you can use Power Query ,Just go to data -->Getdata--->From File----> from folder. you can combine it by using this trick.

    Thank you for the video, I learned the workaround by using legacy import. However, I would still like to know this:
    At the end of the data set there is a green handle ┘ I think that delimits something... this is the issue. When I import in legacy mode I can select the entire worksheet and the filter button is not greyout. When I import the other mode, the filter button is greyout if you select the entire worksheet, however if you select everything within the data set, where the handle ┘ is, the filter button is available. How do you clear that limitation or how do you remove the END handle ┘ ?

    Very impressive video.
    My question is: why and when should we disconnect the connectivity since PQ helps us to maintain connections between old and new additional files?

    • @TeachExcel
      @TeachExcel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whenever the source file will remain static, I like to remove all connection to it. Most data that is imported into Excel is done on a one-off basis and no connection needs to remain. I would, instead, look at in the reverse: when do I need to keep the connection? In that case, keep it if the source file will change or be updated and you want to mirror those changes in Excel. Personally, I don't like the idea of an outside source file controlling what is in Excel, so I tend not to use connections for any period longer than required, but ,they can be more helpful in specific business use-cases where file and folder structures remain stable and procedures for dealing with source files are standardized.

    Can You touch in You series topic : Data model and Conections (meaning in using,building, update, add and remove source)

    • @TeachExcel
      @TeachExcel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that will be in there at some point but I'm not sure how it will fit-in just yet. I decided to change the order of the tutorials around and do a Power Query tutorial this week and so maybe I can get on those topics sooner rather than later.
