Yuichiro was the only one Pickle was afraid of right from the start. Pickle wasn't afraid of Yujiro and fought Musashi before running, but immediately trembled when Yuichiro's projection appeared.
Technically pickle was afraid of retsu when he approached him. But he was in fight mode, not flight mode like when he saw Yuichiro, which is a whole other level of fear.
Pickle probably was afraid because Yuichiro is a friggin ghost. Pickle started running for his life when he saw Jack return from the dead.
I saw it more like pickle was afraid of because he was literally a ghost and he’s been scared of things far less than that

@@jhevgainz2307 that's the same reason Yuujiro was surprised, no other (assumed) dead person has projected their spirit before. Also Yuujiro admits his father is strong and had "a strong technique" meaning he is strong enough to be respected by the strongest creature.

Also the only reason musashi lost to motobe was because he didnt take him seriously from the start. If they had a rematch musashi would kill him pretty quickly.

@@Ace-Vincent-Arevalo I totally agree, Yuichiro was the type of person to be the strongest but not give a shit about it. He could fuck up anyone in a battle, but that was probably not his goal in life, he didn't seem like that much of a warrior, he didn't care enough.
Yujiro however is the strongest and he knows it, he'll destroy anyone in his path because that is his life's mission, to be the strongest ever, until one of his sons can replace him. (Baki, who we can assume will soon become even stronger than Yujiro.)

Although i really think that Yuichiro is physically stronger and tankier than Yujiro because of his bigger muscle and body build.
But Yujiro isn't soft or lenient that's why he's the best and fiercest fighter.
The only reason Jack has losses is because he will literally fight anywhere at any time. I think he could be way higher on the list if he learned a focus martial art. He would chomp so much more meat.

About that...
To br fair to Nomi vs Oliva, Oliva had a MASSIVE nerf. In that fight it was said Oliva was able to lift 500kg, something he had previously absolutely DESTROYED in mere training.

Everyone got nerfed into the ground as suddenly the superhuman cast (barring Yujiro) got reduced to mere peak human. Oliva got placed at world's strongest man levels of strength, yet previous feats of damn near the entire cast is leagues above that.
The reason for this being that the cast got paired up against sumo wrestlers, which for obvious reasons meant that you cannot have characters who can demolish an armored car with a single punch to the front (such as hanyama) face off against people whose feats boil down to "this guy is pretty heavy, like 150kg, and he is running at you fast! incredible" without it being a joke.
TD;DR the sumo-wank nippon dai-banzai arc nerfed everyone and made them peak human rather than super human.
I dont really think he got nerfed Oliva really relies on his muscle mass and he can be able to take down a few people with that but not all it's obvious sukune won that as Oliva has no chance against someone with techniques and has an insane amount of grip strength

Baki was Oliva level at the start of Son of Ogre, and we actually saw Yujiro vs Oliva, Yujiro just squished Oliva and basically killed Oliva with a SINGLE PUNCH. Oliva didn't even get a single shot onto Yujiro. The Baki that fought Sukune is even stronger than the Baki that fought Yujiro, and the Baki that fought Yujiro is literally stated, BY YUJIRO, to be the strongest opponent he's ever faced, and on a COMPLETE OTHER TIER OF POWER. Basically, Yujiro, Baki, Musashi, Yuichiro, and Sukune are 15s, while everyone else in the series right now, to them, is like a 5, except Pickle who's like a 10 with his true form. And, to be honest, even that isn't actually true. Yuichiro, Yujiro, Baki, Sukune, and Musashi are a lot higher than 3 times as strong as the other characters. Fun fact, its implied Baki and Sukune were both holding back against each other.

Not really Baki surpassed jack before oliva. Oliva is physically stronger and Baki believed Oliva could be one of the few to go head to head with Oliva
Adam Leslie yh he was surpassed by Baki , but afterwards he tortured himself to get a lot bigger and stronger and when you look at the pickle fight I don’t see oliva holding a candle to pickle , yuchiro put oliva down just by grip strength, oliva is tough but the hanma family is a different breed
Bsjaz Hdjsjs I don’t think oliva could beat pickle but it was believed he is one of the few (hanyama was the other I think I know there was someone else besides oliva but I’m not 100% sure) who can do a frontal assault and not be annihilated immediately and could theoretically trade blows for some time. This was after Baki had fought and overpowered oliva. Oliva is way stronger than jack not to mention the entire US marine Corp doesn’t stand a chance against oliva not to mention the dude through off GPS with one strike. Jack is strong I’m not calling Him weak he is powerful but he isn’t strong enough he can’t bite through oliva’s muscles. Which one would need to be splits iron before they could hopefully get through.
Adam Leslie Jack isn’t just biting, he’s a hanma and he only clearly lost to Baki and yuchiro , I don’t know but in my opinion oliva is outclassed by jack in every aspect except for muscles , I really don’t know how a fight between them would went but jack has the hanma blood and willpower so I’m more leaning towards him winning

I’d say the current Yujiro is meant to be the strongest EVER in the baki universe.
He has all the physical gifts of his father Yuichiro, likily more given the story of Yujiro’s birth (how his birth was the cause of nuclear weapon stockpiling due to the fear world leaders felt and how that chapter specifically claimed “every creature ALIVE will go down 1 rung in power after Yujiro’s birth”. Destiny is all over Yujiro’s character).
Yujiro, without feeling satisfied with his physical gifts and trying to live a normal life (total opposite of Yuichiro) dedicated his entire life toward becoming the strongest he can possibly be...every second of every day. He has done EVERYTHING conceivable to make himself stronger. I’m paraphrasing bc I cant find the quote and I don’t want to watch the whole bake/Yujiro fight to get it perfectly, but Yujiro told Baki “Strength can be gained from the smallest of things. Selfish and unselfish actions alike, it makes no difference, both can grant strength. I have done ALL of them, and it has allowed me to become what I am....”
IMO, It’s very likely Yujiro tried to fight his dad once he felt confident enough, but based on Yuichiro’s personality Im sure the fight ended as quickly as it began. Not bc anybody won, but bc Yujiro would immediatly stop fighting and fly into a rage the instant he noticed Yuichiro was giving it less than his all. Yuichiro’s “devil may care” attitude toward fighting is probably what largely drove Yujiro to become the fight addict he is. In his fight with Baki, he initially begged and pleaded with him in the middle of the battle like some “jaded lover”...looking almost pathetic....for Baki to fight for keeps and hold NOTHING back. Just feels as if the strain of having another strong Hanma, his son no less, not fighting against him with everything he has could be THE BIGGEST trigger for Yujiro ever. Post traumatic stress of yet another Hanma not giving him the battle he craves. A battle no one else on the planet can give him. In fact, I believe Yuichiro’s spirit appearance during the Baki/Yujiro fight was more for Yujiro than Baki. The battle could’ve stopped there, but instead he encouraged and gave Baki the green light to give Yujiro what he should’ve given him years ago. To satiate some of his hunger and gain some of his humanity back, bc for all of Yujiro’s strength the one thing he has lost is his humanity. His connection to everyone else on the planet.
I believe Yujiro is the living embodiment of the demon that appears on the backs of the greatest warriors in the Baki Universe, and as such not only stands at the top of his era, but all others as well.
Yujiro is anything but a one dimensional character. In my opinion, He’s OP done right and he’s one of my fav Baki characters. His flaws lie beneath the surface, hidden by his strength.
What happens when you have the absolute maximum physical and mental aptitude’s for fighting, and yet also have the maximum drive/desire to become stronger at any cost? You get Yujiro Hanma.

Funnily enough, Jr. actually defeated Yujiro in the hotel. Or rather Yujiro submitted by lying on the floor.
He walked away. And that was foreshadowing for him not having the motivation to fight for the sake of fighting. Which is why he got bodied after that
Ali jr beat all his challengers far in 1:1 combat. They all literally conspired against him to break his body then spirit. He takes #3 Baki won after the torture..

Ali Jr is an athlete not a warrior
Ali Jr was a monster overshadowed by his L's. He pulled feats like Ko-ing Shibukawa, which Maximum Tournament Doppo couldn't do and Jack struggled to do. He basically one tapped a stronger Doppo than the Yujiro fight and Maximum Tournament Doppo, who declared the fight as a real death match
And his biggest 'feat' or rather scaling is that Baki himself at his Peak in the 'New Grappler Baki' series, post Raitai tournament, stated that Ali Jr could one shot him with a head punch. Think about all the kinds of insane damage and beatings Baki took between the age of 13 up until that point in the story. It wasn't a special technique, but a normal head punch that Ali Jr can one tap this version of Baki with.
It was to the point where Yujiro was excited to see them fight, and upon Baki winning, Yujiro accepted the challenge to fight him

Hmm... Yeah. He hasn't really trained his reflexes to dodge attacks, as he tanks pretty much everything. And even if he did dodge, it wouldn't be very effective as he's more of a fast runner than an evasive athlete.

A lot of ppl make the mistake of judging the characters by their feats in Baki, but for me it seems like, excluding Baki Dou 2018, Itagaki focuses on the fighter's upbringing more and their motivation for fighting. Why is Yujiro unstoppable? Because he wanted to be. He wanted to become a physical incarnation of an asura - divine war spirit. And so he did. Why was Oliva inferior to him, despite Baki comparing him to his father? Because Oliva just built his strength for his wife and he was comfortable with that. Why is Pickle superior in strength to Yujiro but would otherwise get his ass whooped by him? Because he was shaped by an almost mythological for our standards world, but was left wild and unrefined. Why is Musashi so OP? Because the guy is literally a shorter Yujiro with swords.

About Hanayama's speed feats, in his Gaiden he is shown to flat out outspeed cars, which is probably pretty standard for this show, but its there.
While Yujiro is currently the top 1, you do have to remember the fact that Baki came so close at no.2 despite still being a teenager, he’s not even actually in his prime yet judging by the fact that Yujiro was still growing in strength all the way up to the fight with Baki. I’d be willing to bet that after just a year or maybe 2 Baki overtakes Yujiro and becomes the no.1.

At first, I didn’t understand why Musashi was that high, excluding the use of weapons. But then I remembered. But also, I don’t know if it was just his attitude, but Musashi didn’t really seem very serious throughout his fights.
Mushashi has a Technique where he can slice you without The use of swords he doesn’t need weapons

Honestly, we don't really know what Hanayama would be capable of, when he's actually trying. He just one punched the sumo in the most recent chapter of Baki. So at least he has another W on his name.

Tbh I’d personally put Yuichiro at the very top considering that Yujiro himself admits that he was unbelievably strong. And given the fact he was able beat the US with the use of only a single technique something that Yujiro could not accomplish, well perhaps it’s more apt to say he simply prefers to toy with his opponent a bit more hence the variety he uses. Hanayama I agree is around the lower top ten because mostly his fighting style and the fact he doesn’t train all that much if he augmented his fighting with a bit more technical knowledge I might put him around 6 or 7 but that could just end up lowering his potential. If Hanayama got a bit faster then that could also end up boosting him in the ranks. But that’s just my personal opinion I kinda gotta wonder tbh who is stronger in the physical sense hanayama or Olivia.
I agree with his ranking, but you fail to mention that Hanayama’s biggest asset is his toughness. Practically speaking he just does not go down.
He didn't really beat Musashi.. Musashi literally could have cut where his thighs were. That was the main issue with Musashi.. he kept on playing with his opponents. He should have taken them all more seriously after facing Yujiro and Retsu
I feel like Dorian is an underappreiciated character. We saw him in very few fights, and the only time he was defeated was when he realized he had never truly won. His sheer strength, knowledge of weapons, and martial arts ability seemingly exceeding that of Retsu, makes him a contender for tenth at the very least. I would've love to have seen him in more on screen fights, against stronger characters, and in the right headspace.

Might wanna update this list, cuz Jack got a major buff and absolutely fucked up Sukune, as well as recently Oliva came back and also wrecked Sukune as revenge. The only reason Oliva felt nerfed in the first fight, is because he was trying to beat Sukune at his own game of Sumo, not fighting like his usual self. Cuz the moment he fought the normal Oliva way, Sukune got smoked in a few strokes.
