this man didnt even need to tell jokes, he looked funny , and just was the most naturally funny man who ever lived , a clumsy looking clown who could stand still and silent and people would still laugh ,what a gift to have and so sad he isnt still around
Tommy cooper will forever be a comedy legend, from the tricks that didnt work, his stage presence, the simple but wonderful gags he told,he could walk on stage and not say a word and the audience were already tittering, how many so called comedians in this day and age can do that? And with all this pc rubbish nowadays, tommy did no rude jokes,no filth but he had the audience in the palm of his hand from start to finish,RIP comedy legend Tommy.
@@terryanddominic Not really, can you ? But he was a member of the Magic Circle , and decided after people laughed at some of his tricks , he put comedy into his act . It all started as he was serving with the British Army in Cario after being called up as a trooper in the Royal Horse Guards in 1940 , serving for 7 years. He was a Desert Rat with Montgomerys Desert Rats . The reason why he wore a Fez he was wearing a Pith Helmet , ( Army head gear due to the Sun in hot countries ) He had forgotten said helmet and while on stage he pinched a Fez off a passing waiter . The audience laughed , and that's where his act started. He was my Late Fathers favourite.
@@terryanddominic Dear Sir I quite agree with you , there will be no other Tommy Cooper, be all and End all. Also Dave Allen, another great Comedian. Comedians brought up on their hardships in life that brought their own style of comedy to the fore . All loved by us .
It was hard to believe, that throughout his long illustrious career in entertainment, Tommy was petrified, that one day the audience would stop laughing at his unique comedy. He would spend hours perfecting his routine, and drink heavily in the process, just incase something went wrong, or the performance did not go down well with the audience. We are still laughing today, and no doubt those in heaven are being entertained by one of the finest stage acts to come out of the clubs of working class Britain
What an absolute legend I like it when he use to do tricks on stage and he would in the wings at the side of stage go over as if some wanted him and talk then come back look again and say something brilliant I miss this stuff so much 😢
He always questioned that himself. I don't know why. He was unbelievably funny. A natural comic with superb timing. The best of his time and still loved today
Saddy missed. I grew up in stitches laughing at Tommy. Even though I watched the same hilarious routines repeatedly. He was so funny only could get away with it. It was Tommy who was the joke. Loved him. RIP Tommy Cooper.
Amazingly he stumbled into Cod Magic after failing to be a good magician My Dad was always in stitches whenever he came on T V This is clever comedy not racist not offensive pure Genius RIP Tommy
@@hollypebbles That's the only time I could stomach Jimmy Carr, when he's asleep. Tommy Cooper and Ken Dodd were top of premier league. Jimmy Carr wouldn't even make League 2.
I went to every Ken Dodd show in Bournemouth for almost 30 years. Even had tickets for the show he never made it to. The man was unstoppable institution. It’s difficult to comprehend how the man could have an act that featured no swearing and only clean innuendo. He was a master and is definitely missed.
I laughed at the Irishman joke.....we Irish can laugh at jokes at our expense....we also laugh at jokes about the English and the Scots.... we are not racist!!!

This was him at his best. As a comic magician and raconteur he was the greatest. I never could take to his sketch shows though. That is just a personal view. However he was one of my favourite comedians.
You can tell by the way he reacts to the audience that he is thinking "at some point they are going to find my act not funny" which of course is not true but that was his constant fear which drove him .
Going to turn this stick of rock into a set of furniture.he broke it into three pieces, threw it behind his back and said, there we go three piece suite!

I said " Dr, I feel like a pair of curtains" he said " pull yourself together " I said " I feel like a billiard ball" he said " get to the end of the cue" a ha
Another great comic of yesteryear, still telling jokes up above, never swore but his joke telling was untouchable, RIP Tommy, we remember you!!

Dean Martin and Tommy Cooper had one thing in common - great stars who will remain immortal.
Back when comics were funny....
That line ''Whatever happened to the eye-tie who sang all the songs'' cracked me up.
Do you always drink whiskey neat? No sometimes I let my shirt hang out. 😂 Classic
2:04 Arthur Askey looks like he’s enjoying himself. Rip him and Tommy.
Look at him, he's a naturally very funny presence and it's not easy to stand up and make everybody in a room that size, laugh.

Spelling! How old are you?
Tommy Cooper made you laugh before he had even opened his mouth.
