Thank you again for the lesson. When I was a boy, I focused on learning principles first in my training and excelled in my growth. But as I got older, I strayed and started focusing on collecting techniques, and my growth stalled. Over the past couple of years, however, I was encouraged by teachers at a school I was training to go back to focusing on principles and concepts, which opened up whole new worlds for me, and now see these principles and concepts everywhere. From this experience, I know you speak the truth. Thank you.

Refreshing. "A Bronze Statue can not stand on clay feet." Wuji Quan is a system taught from principles. Rare is it, as you say, that a Principle based approach to the study of movement and relationships that our mind/body system functions in our domain of existence. Well done. Looking forward to watching the rest of you videos. Peace, Shikan Haramitsu Daikomyo

Amazing video and information. Will be interesting to see how all these principles apply to BJJ. They certainly do, though “Feet” May be altered to “gounding”. Using our connection to the ground. Would be keen to hear your take on any of this. Thanks bro for the great video.

    Dear Sir,
many thanks for listing the most important aspects to focus on, but with all respects to You, techniques are not principles.
Having spent over 30 year on Tatami, when teaching we emphasized the purpose, main principles underlying the variants of applications.
Then it cam to teaching methodology , when we learned basically two ways of teaching:
-from the leg through body to the hand or from the hand , body and legs.
Only in the more advanced stage we arrived at teaching external vs. internal aspects, tactique for sports and self defence, all that related to levels of proficiency.
Best wishes, Paul, 69, retired instructor of Karate

These aren't principles mate, they're techniques with a common philosophy!
