Honestly, this is fucking great sound design. The way that it uses the different parts of audio to tell you where the killer is. The awesome fuckin bell ringing is useage is amazing, and the volume of it will sure as hell give the bravest thrillseeker a heart attack!
I really liked that they used this specific bell and yes it is the exact same bell used for institutions such as the one where Nun Massacre takes place. Who could've thought that even this bell could ring at an alarming rate and scary pace ..
puppet combo games are seriously genius. like, the nun's ai is legitimately terrible. very little effort was put into it, and it's very hard for her to hit you if you just stay calm and walk around her. the only reason she's at all dangerous/scary to the player instead of a joke is the sound design and visual effects which induce panic in the player. it intentionally spikes your adrenaline and tries to make you panic as much as possible so you either make huge mistakes (pretty much the only way you can ever die) or run away and then feel satisfied having escaped. in reality, escaping from her is not that hard, but the chase sequence is so terrifying and panic-inducing that you feel like a god whenever you manage to avoid her.
Yeah no the AI was put effort into for sure, if you've worked with Unity you know well how hard it is to make one, it is not easy. So there was definitely a lot effort put in. But yeah I get what you're saying it's still more the sound and visual that scare you and not the nun.
I weirdly played this game muted while downstairs at a family gettogether a few months back and it’s only then that I realized this. Was difficult to not laugh while slowly 360ing and strafe walking around the nun

She is pretty unscary. She's got a very simple A.I. She can hear you if you jump near you, which makes her model turn towards the place you fell on, and she'll "investigate", which is just going to where you made the noise, stay idle, and then go to a random part of the map again. She takes a second to fully notice a player, and she sucks at killing the player as shown in the video.
