In return, Jackie helped expose Hyde’s protective and considerate part he normally rejects. Both had actual growth with each other, we didn’t get that with the other relationships.
I always wished Hyde and Donna would have ended up together instead of her with Eric. Hyde understood Donna and what she needed and wouldn't have put up with her shit. Eric let himself get beat down and put down by her constantly.
Yeah but at the same time, they made a show of what she was going through. They could have had Jackie and Donna sit down in private and talk. But instead they all openly pitied her when she asked them to stop. Even Hyde understood that all they were doing was embarrassing Jackie when she already felt low enough. Donna didn’t need to highlight again that Jackie was alone. It was like “Jackie did you know your life sucks right now?” . Jackie already knew that. And it was done in front of everyone so she snapped back as a defense mechanism. It was mean but she kept asking for them to stop pitying her and they were way too much lol Their hearts were in the right place, it’s just Jackie is like Hyde in the sense where she doesn’t want her insecurities shown in neon letters for all her friends and their parents to see. They both snap back hard when they’re feeling embarrassed
Jackie was full of crap here Donna being supportive friend she’s always been & Jackie belittling her bc she’s not popular enough to live with ? Hyde & Jackie we’re a great couple but she was very high maintenance for Hyde.
