    I was touched , this woman is so overwhelmed with the kids and work, but she was able to donate for a hospital ! A good example for all of us : to be sensitive to other people needs even when our life seems complicated ! Beautiful designs, I hope the best for Farah and Alexandra of course ! :)

    Alexandra! I did not think you could even equal Option A but you crushed it and I believe you TOPPED it. I think I would have had to choose a couple of items from each design and come up with a mish mash!!! I loved both options. Farah has such a generous and sweet heart and you nailed the design for her! I hope we get to see her finished room! Did you tell her about the barn doors? Maybe I missed that. NICE JOB!! You get an A+, woman!!!!

      I would love to see that! I am preparing to teach online in the fall and am gathering ideas to turn my guest room into a space where I can video conference with my students and work on grading papers and organize all of my materials. We won't be having guests anytime soon, but I still want to keep the guest bed, so I am trying to design around that. I also don't want to spend much money because my school isn't going to contribute at all. At the same time, I want the aesthetics to be worthy of video in order to keep my students' attention. And I teach French to college students who are mostly from NYC, so you can imagine how important this is! I love that dotted wallpaper in this video, I might try it in my space!

      Great idea! I'm always trying to apply these ideas to my classroom without much success. I'm very limited for choices (cement brick walls that can't be painted or have holes) and I would have to pay for everything, which of course, is typical and nearly impossible for teachers' salaries.

    Geez love you don’t make it easy!! I loved option A but B was incredible too! You did such a nice job for a mama who could really use a break! And lucky to have TH-camrs like yourself who can recognize that your environment can GREATLY affect your life. Awesome job! You should do a recap when it’s all kind of done you know?

  • @pamelaatkinson5710

    Seems to me Farah has chosen to customize it even further by taking some from A and B. She loves the customizable cabinet, accent wall, and faux plant from option A, but also loved the under window storage and larger desk and light fixture of option B. Not sure which rug she preferred and if she liked the ladder option for holding the printer and fax. A cabinet the same height as the table, placed at a right angle to the desk could give her a place for orders and paper clutter and a place for the office machines to sit on top of, with the bonus to have more space to spread out her assembly line. Neither design gives her paper organization and that surprised me.

      @@makemyspacework Functionally I love the PAX system, but wrapping the blue around to the window wall adds visual balance and an additional work surface. Nice work!

    I liked A too. I like B also, but A seemed maybe a better fit for her. I had those wardrobes (3) in an apartment I was living in that we renovated, and I LOVED them. Everything tucked away perfectly on shelves, in baskets, and no one saw anything when they came over. Great inspiration girl !!! Much love ♥️

    OPTION B

  • @ashleymerrill7142
    @ashleymerrill7142 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I loved both designs! I think the only thing that I'd be wondering about, is how functional the printer situations are when you're doing a bunch of packaging at once (this is just based on how I've seen a couple other eshops vlog their packaging stuff), but I do like the idea of the ladder shelf for it. Need to keep that in mind. ALSO THANK YOU FOR THE FAUX PLANTS. My cat likes to get into ANY plants I love (also some are not kitty friendly), so finding faux that meets my standards has been... challenging.
    Really looking forward to seeing the final version!!!

    gah this is gorgeous! Alexandra, I am beyond grateful to have found you. Thank the quarantine for that. I have incorporated so many of your ideas on a small scale.
    To that end, I have a question that I posted to your IG DM but maybe I'll try it here too and perhaps you or someone else can help. I live in Brooklyn, NYC and like everyone here on lock down/in quarantine. I have a massive living room (said no one ever in NYC!), but I do! 22 feet by 14 feet. It's lovely, arched door way. Old school rent stabilized apt. beautiful original hardwood, etc. Right now it is divided with a book shelf and some file cabinets to make a living room and an office where me, the spouse, and my 6 year old do work. (WFH and remote learning). Having the room separated the way we have it is not my fave and I'm thinking of doing an L shape desk of some sort to make the separation less cluttered and more sleek and part of the overall design vibe of my LR which is mid century modern, lots of wood and a big brown couch and I'm NOT afraid of color or texture and I would like to incorporate more of that into my space. My vibe is colorful, vibrant and meaningful touches in a room that is neutral/wood overall. I'm OBSESSED with the idea of a gallery wall with different kinds of arts and prints and an accent wall with a warm pop of color (think coral, warm pinks, terra cotta, bolder even. Question is (I have so many questions!), should the gallery wall that I have in my mind also be the accent wall that I have in my mind? My apt. hasn't been painted in more than a decade and we rent so we're definitely entitled by law to a paint job. I'm willing to invest in high quality paint; I have a mood board already but nervous about the actual execution. I'm a bit crafty but large scale remodel projects make me nervous. (BUT I AM Willing!). anyway I have a lot of inspiration but I need design help and direction. To sum up, should the gallery wall be the accent wall and how to separate LR from office in the same large room? Much love from NYC! We haven't left the house in months!

    i loved both ideas. however, pax design is not great. pro tip is to ALWAYS start your design in planner by adding door to the unit to see location of hinges and avoid solutions impossible to assembly. you cannot have drawers at the very bottom (with hinged doors), only baskets. why? drawer wouldn’t fit because of the hinge. moreover - ikea doesn’t offer door in 75x229, the closet either has to consist of 4 50x229 units or have 2 breaks with 25x229 doors that do not match door of your choice (flisberget). please, give people more realistic options. i know you wanted to perfect the look in the visualisation but it will be disappointing later 🙁
