  • This video is an overview of the Polaris Glacier Pro Snow Ranger Plow on my
    2016 Polaris Ranger 900XP.
    Here's the plow in action: • Plowing snow with a Po...
    I've been using the Glacier Pro plow system on my Ranger 900 since the winter of 2017-2018.
    It works very well for my needs.
    I have the hydraulic lift and angle mechanisms, which I highly recommend.
    I added the gated mechanism to the shift lever and also have the buttons for the plow control. While the buttons and gated shifter work well, I don't recommend using them together because the wires are subject to rubbing on the gated shift mechanism. Mine have been damaged once.

    I’m buying the exact same Glacier Plow set up - just under $3K not including sales tax or install. Thanks for the video - videos like yours help me in making a decision on my purchase!

      Good choice! I Don't recommend using the winch to operate the plow - the cable will wear out, or the synthetic line WILL break, it's not "if" it will break, it's "when" it will break. My neighbor has the same plow and uses the winch. He breaks his winch line at least once every winter.

    To prevent breaking winch line, back up a few inches from snow pile before lifting blade. I have broken my winch line several times by not following this procedure. No breakage since backing out of the pile before lifting blade.

    This looks like a lot of fun to be honest! We don't get a lot...okay ZERO snow here in Melbourne Australia.

    I like that one ,, I have a Yamaha Wolverine... but I want the power tilt and angle. Great video ..

      The power angle is a must have for me because I have a large area to plow, and I push the snow to either side depending on which area I'm plowing.

    I have always wanted to have one like this and then do everyone's driveway in the neighborhood (as long as the temperature was above 0 and the winds light).

      It usually gets a pretty good workout, but so far we've only had two snow events worth plowing. One on the 31st, and then teh week before Christmas.

    Curious how the mounting bracket and plow would line up if you have a lift on your Ranger. Thoughts? I have high lifter Ranger but would love this same setup.

      I'd recommend going to Polaris' accessory web page and plugging in your exact VIN to see what accessories will fit it - this will tell you if the plow will work.

    When you plow into a pile of snow does the plow angle get pushed back from the angle set ? Just wondering if the hydraulics are strong enough to handle hard packed snow when pushing into a pile . The plow i have has lockable angle positions manual set . Thanks for the video

    • @deltabravo1257
      @deltabravo1257  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the angle can get pushed back some on hard packed snow, like if you are pushing snow into pile which has frozen from previous plowing. Generally I am moving slow when pushing snow to an existing pile, so the situation rarely happens.

    Where did you buy and did you buy a whole kit or piece by piece?

    • @deltabravo1257
      @deltabravo1257  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought all the parts through my local Polaris Dealer.
      The plow system comes in several major kits (pieces)
      Blade (you can get steel or poly blade)
      Plow mount - which is the piece that bolts to the Ranger chassis
      Plow Frame - which is the brackets and stuff that the blade attaches to.
      The hydraulic lift and angle mechanisms are sold as two separate kits. You don't need either, because the plow can be raised with a winch, plus it has a manual angle mechanism included in the Plow Frame kit.
