    I'm surprised reticule videos didn't become more popular with the outbreak. They look like they would wash well and would be fairly simple to make multiples. Ladies could have a freshly laundered bag every day, maybe even matching masks.

    Fantastic! Did not know the name and did not know how empty my life is without one! Going to need more material and a bodkin! Thanks!

    Great video again! I've been making bags of all sorts since I was about 7 years old (I'm 22 now), and it somehow never occurred to me that a reticule just follows the same simple principles all draw-string bags do. I'm going to have to stop myself making one for every outfit!

      No reason not to make one for every outfit! And yeah, I think they're pretty similar to a standard drawstring bag!

    HOLD THE PHONE. Does your machine auto reverse stitch for you at the beginning and end of sewing?????

    • @LadyRebeccaFashions
      @LadyRebeccaFashions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep! And it cuts the thread at the end. It's so hard to switch to my other machine, when I've become so used to these features!

    • @emilymermaid
      @emilymermaid 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My machine was stupid expensive and does no do this. For SHAME Bernina! Also my friend's 1970's Pfaff has a little light that comes on when your bobbin thread is low. Guess what else my $$$ machine can't do?? Hahahaha oh well. Everything else it does is great.

      @@emilymermaid Wow, really? The tie off feature is standard in even the less expensive brother machines, and in the more expensive ones, you get the thread cutter and automatic threader, too (like I literally just press a button and it threads my needle). And I get an alert message/sound when my bobbin thread is low (like, the machine actually stops sewing so I have to pay attention to the alert). Honestly, I have gotten so used to these features -- they're super nice.

    Thank you so much for this. But I’m confused about the ribbon threading I usually end up with the k it’s on the outside I can’t grasp how the knots end up on the inside of the channel.

    • @LadyRebeccaFashions
      @LadyRebeccaFashions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You just slide the ribbon along, so that the knot goes inside the channel. They'll shift over time sometimes, so the knot shows up again, but then I just slide it back in.

    Really cute tutorial. You mentioned that you were going to post the link to the chalk pencil you used. I don't see it. Could you please provide it?

      Hi Pat! Thank you! The link to the Chaco liner should be right at the bottom of the video description.

    I had never heard of a reticule before. I am assuming it'w what we call a drawstring purse but always small? It came out beautifully. Congrats!

    • @LadyRebeccaFashions
      @LadyRebeccaFashions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's more open than just drawstring - I think it's more like anything that we would consider a purse, but they all happened to be quite small. And thanks!

    Your voice was clear but I think using lighter material would of been alot more viable specially doing this for first time plus using black thread. Just a thought. However idid enjoy your video . Thank you.

    About how heavy do you want a pattern weight to be? Like is your phone a better weight or the remote

    • @LadyRebeccaFashions
      @LadyRebeccaFashions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normally I would use my phone, but it was recording the video. My second favorite for smaller pieces is the remote. For larger pieces, I like using my rulers. In general, I try to go for things that are relatively flat.

      Thank you that’s really helpful, I don’t like pinning patterns, I always worry about ripping the pattern and warping the fabric

    • @LadyRebeccaFashions
      @LadyRebeccaFashions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I feel like pinning them always makes things get a little out of alignment, too. You can purchase actual pattern weights, but I figure there's always something around my sewing room that will work just as well. I'm glad that was helpful! :)

    • @emilymermaid
      @emilymermaid 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      A cat is also a pattern weight. Not a great one though. But sometimes they don't give you a choice!

      @@emilymermaid Dora is unfortunately banned from my sewing table, because she likes rubbing her jaw on my giant pincushion. I don't want her mouth to accidentally pick up a pin!
