Yesterday my car fell off the stands and I am trying to find a jacking plate. It would have been fine had I left the jack in-place, but I put it away for the night. Don't just use a jack and stands if you are working in grass, soft dirt, or deep gravel.
If your removing a tire you also use that as a safety fall back of last resort if your jack fails and also the stands the rim should hold firm..replace the jack & stands pronto
@@drippingwax How did it fall off the stands? Were you on concrete/level ground? Or did you shake the car somehow? I'm going to try to do what's in this video but I don't want to die lol.
@@davemartinez614 It was on gravel next to our driveway and I don't know what happened, I was inside. I looked into diamond-plate squares screwed to 2x4s, but just figured that I would move trade places with the car in the driveway. By the way, most of the diamond plate I found was aluminum--or plastic.
If you’re at your own home and not some professional environment, use large tree stumps like from a maple or fir tree. Like 16 inch diameter. This is assuming you’re in your driveway in flat ground. A large tree stump will NEVER fail
1:30 how about placing stands under axles as that helps keep the load on the suspension to help wheels get off the ground better. with my truck being too high to lift with jack, I used some 2x10 blocks underneath the jack. with big solid wood blocks it was still very stable. But to everyone out there, dont forget to put some chocks aka wheel stops under the tires. jack stands are def a wise choice/decision. But I prefer using 2 as 1 under the axle near each wheel.
I’ve apparently been living on the edge for years. 😳 Guess I need to buy a floor jack and jack stands. I’ve been using the small jack included with the vehicle for years to do oil changes.
@@davemartinez614 haven't posted the video yet I still need to talk with AC Delco but it will be on my TH-cam channel( Alonso-Wrenches ) when I do post it talking about what happened
I saw a clip of Smokey & the Bandit. The sheriff is holding a gun on the Bandit. Bandit gets sheriff to show off his shooting accuracy and runs out of bullets. Bandit races away and Snowman comes crashing thru and pushes sheriff car out of the way. The shocker was snowman was driving a GMC tractor! Check it out!!!
My brother and with all due respect, Jesus was a man who ate , and had other bodily needs. How can a man be a God? He was a Nobel messenger of God not God.

This is one of the many reasons why I love TH-cam.
I always still leave my Jack snug up too.....just in case. Just another safety fall back "if" the jack stands were to fail.

Clear, concise video with clear footage. Thanks!

I had an acDelco stand break on me last night, glad I wasn't under my truck 😬

I like to put just 1 jack stand right in the middle it rocks a little bit but good enough
Caution: the above comment was performed by a professional stuntman. DO NOT try at home
Thanks for sharing the video.
Important video please advise and listen.
Very helpful, thanks! 👍🏾
I always leave my jack there and leave a tiny cap just incase of a failure.
Ugh! I hate O'reilly but this is a good video. Keep up Autozone.
Does oreilly auto parts have a loan program I would need to borrow two ramps...
They used to I'm fairly certain they still do..don't forget wheel chocks! If using ramps
👌
Awesome video. The Scotty Kilmer video is BS.
My tire flat on the back of the car
I would think twice about using a jack from O'Reilly's
great now i can go jack !!
😂😂😂
I do not see how people find this helpful. This did not discuss why to put the floor jack where it was under the car.

One very important question is do you know JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR?
My brother and with all due respect, Jesus was a man who ate , and had other bodily needs. How can a man be a God? He was a Nobel messenger of God not God.
Nope, sure don't.
