I love my Rival X wing. We flew yesterday in some of the roughest turbulence i have flown in Near Parker Arizona. The Rival X wing was great in this turbulence. Thanks for this video, it helps the trike world. :)
Nice job! I highly recommend e-tracks for your trailer!! The tie down points will be stronger, and you can vary the position of the aircraft more in the event that you need to. Great tutorial video as always Larry!
I'm getting ready to pull and inspect all my battens for splits or cracks at the tips. Is there a method to do this without completely relaxing the wing? I see you can get all the under-surface and tip battens out and the outboard top-surface battens, without relaxing the haul-back. Can every Batten be inspected one at a time without going all the way short of folding the wing back?
No, as the camber gets larger towards the root of the wing you can either deform the batten or tear the batten pocket by trying to remove or insert a batten into a fully tensioned Wing even if you try to do one at a time.
@@LarrySMednick I figured, but I was hoping to be able to inspect them one at a time. Can I just inspect the underside, and outboard uppers one at a time replacing them as I go, then loosen the haul back to pull the inboard uppers one at a time for inspection? If I loosen the haul-back, but don’t actually fold the wings back it wouldn’t damage any of the battens or pockets correct? Basically I’m just asking if it’s possible to inspect the battens one at a time rather than pulling them all and having a pile of 40 battens on the ground and then putting them all back in after the inspection. Thanks for taking the time to answer me by the way I appreciate that considering you are likely extremely busy getting ready for SNF right now.
If the wing is strut braced then you can detention the wing, but if the nose is up it will try to collapse back. if it has a king post you typically need to break the wing down on flat ground. It is possible to pull one at a time but not preferable.
How long was this trailer? Looked like they had more than enough extra space. I know you guys recommend an 18' trailer, but I would love to know how tight would it be in a 16' with a V-nose. Trailer is cheaper and easier to maneuver vs 18'. Thanks.

Larry, do you have a video of unfolding and setting the Rival X back up?
will try to make one soon.

I believe that is just a 16’ V nose trailer.
