Landowner lives right next to the access gate! This past few months they've put a sign up, basically waving you through to show you the way and go and visit, but it is always good form to ask permission.

If you haven't already been there, do visit it's Little Ark an ingenious little Mass boat built to evade the penal laws applying at the time.

This guide was wonderful! We used it to follow our own Ring of Bears tour this summer. It is a wonderful guide and the Ring of Beara shows an amazing part of Ireland without all of the crowds!

Since watching your videos I am now planning my trip around the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara. What are your thoughts on this? Daniel, can't believe I missed your comment. Wow - no pressure there - changing your travel plans around because of our videos ;) In my mind, the best part of the North, other than its coast line and Giant's Causeway, are its ruined castles. Other than Ross Castle in Killarney and Three Castle Head on Mizen, South West Ireland can't really compete with the castles they have up north. So, I just want to caution you that if you are more into castles, up North is better. If you are more into small abandoned churches, graveyards, mountains and old, old stuff, this neck of the woods is the place to be. Tips - well, two things actually: 1) Take time to go into forgotten valleys. On both Beara and Iveragh you have those options. Sheep's Head is basically forgotten completely, so that will work nicely too. But just sit and relax. I alluded to this during this video, that there is a feeling to this place that is just... different. Powerful. Ancient. Distinct. I hope that makes any sense. 2) If you are a good driver and **not afraid** I will leave you with a name: Priest Leap. Note that this is dangerous driving, so what you do with this information after this point I will leave completely in your capable hands.
I have yet to meet some not dissapointed by giants causeway's small size. There are other spots for game of thrones fans but there are many sectarian flags about to make many tourists uncomfortable. They don't do themselves any favours as you keep trying to make judgments on food stops etc. Beautiful place though.

In my opinion Beara has a totally different feeling than Iveragh or Dingle. Much more rugged and rural. Perhaps you wil notice it while on the peninsula. On a late October mid-week day like you will be travelling on, you will have the place to yourself. Not a tourist in sight! Let us know how the trip went!
@@AdventuresInQuietPlaces have to say out of all the drives I’ve done on my trip, Beara Peninsula is the best of the 3 drives. Dingle and Ring Of Kerry are fantastic but Beara wins for me. Loved the fact I had most of the sites to myself. It had everything. Wild, rugged, mountain passes, amazing coastline’s, waterfalls, rainbows and beautiful autumn colours ❤️🇮🇪
For every notorious tourist spot in Ireland there is a quieter more beautiful (better value sometimes) experience. Beara way better than the beautiful ring of kerry. Loop head is a better cliff experience than Moher - not as tall, but you can walk drive or cycle the quiet route and feel more connected. Lough crew or nowth over newgrange. The former is less impressive but the (smaller) toombs haven't been "restored" inis mean over the other 2 busier aran islands.. Realy enjoying your postings
