    Sick! I was thinking about putting something like this together but my Arduino knowledge is not great. I did not realize the nano could do USB host. I may have to replicate this, thanks!

    Very nice. Could you get it to work with a PowerA GameCube controller? If it did people would buy this. You can sell these as a kit.

    • @yanndiy
      @yanndiy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That was the initial idea 👍. I'll look into using that controller when I get hold of one.

      @@yanndiy if you can get it to work on a powerA and print it in black or purple plastic you have yourself a winner. I would love to be your first customer 😉 I'd pay 40E for one.

    This would work for a wavebird with no Bluetooth receiver?

    • @yanndiy
      @yanndiy  ปีที่แล้ว

      no it wouldn't. This project uses bluetooth. The wavebird uses 2.4GHz proprietary protocol. Work has been initiated to reverse engineer the wavebird radio layer, but it's really out of the scope of this project. It would indeed be usefull, as many wavebird controlers are sold without the dongle :)

    this proves the concept of bluetooth modding the console now what about bt modding the controllers with a type c charge port to interface with this would that be possible and is there an instructables or tutorial on doing this homebrew I am VERY interested in this development and am so happy this is an active development on going I thouht that after 20 years people would have given up on this awesome little cube!

    • @yanndiy
      @yanndiy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The intent is to use unmodified controllers. Type C isn't on my list, but since type c is electrically compatible with the type a, it shouldn't be too hard.

    • @yanndiy
      @yanndiy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it would, see github.com/felis/USB_Host_Shield_2.0
      The only thing to to is replace ps3bt functions for xbox functions. The library is well documented

    Haven't seen the githubt repository yet but can this work with a wired controller taking out of the equation the BT dongle? Because if it does then it opens up the door to use with the Brook PS3/PS4 Fighting Board Plus which is around 50$.

    • @yanndiy
      @yanndiy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes it can. You just need to adapt the code for wired controller. It should take no more than an hour to adapt the code

  • @OtBe

    Button mapping is incorrect for use on the GC. A on GC would be the O on the DS3 controller, not X.

    • @derekfcc
      @derekfcc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you were making a snes controller then yes, but not for a gc controller. The ‘A’ button is pressed with the joint of the thumb, ‘B’ with the tip of the thumb. Roll to the right to find ‘X’, up from there is ‘Y’. It’s not the traditional Y-X over B-A layout that you find on a snes.
