Video Description: This video will teach you mascot logo designs. In this video I try my hardest in 3 different examples, in about 30 minutes to help really create a subject matter of tips to creating great mascot logos. I used examples of designers in my Discord, that were recent and all had something different to show and get help with.

in a way hes right though, the curved nose piece looks too fragile. if you're going to add curves they have to make sense.

The title says it's for mascot design beginners, not adobe illustrator beginners. If you don't know how to use adobe illustrator, there's other tutorial for that then come back here if you already know how to use it. Keep designing the free world!
I think the video was of good length it was not too long. For people who dint go to design school or want to be self-taught via youtube, this was video is very useful for them.

Should have done the shadows in low opacity black, if you change main colour, won’t need to change shadow colours

Offset path can really help with the second housing/casting. It'll be perfect.

Its really easy to understand the only part i didnt understood was 9:00 when he took color from another layer, but everything else is easy

There is no substance to this video. The actual tips could be squeezed into a 2 minute one, the rest is just messing around on a whim and gut feeling. "This doesn't seem to work well for him", well try and tell me how that could benefit someone who is trying to make something of his own

Why are you always using the direct selection tool to move things and not the other selection tool with V as its shortcuts

Its a tutorial on what to think when making it not how to use illustrator, If you need to know shortcuts how to use the program find another tutorial then come back to this.

It Should be giant more simple legos. this video is legit a blessing because i think the same things about other softwares i'm learning illustrator its not that hard essentially using the pen tool i just need to learn shortcuts and those kind or selection things but yea its hard trying to get the concept across of something like this because every work will be different and you go into it just sampling really to see what looks good but yea you explaining outline work i understand it 100% this helped specifically with mascot logo design im a well really seasoned ps and premiere worker so it's not hard at all to understand what you are conveying i watched the whole video tho there's nothing better than gaining more knowledge and seeing a different perspective of how to to things. Because these types of tutorials or guids really are hard to get across in 5 or 10 mins with 1 example it takes time and examples to try to convey what you want to in words in a short amount of time this vid was Perfect. Also how you even said at the end if you really listened you will understand and not think you are just repeating i get you fam its actually stressful thinking that they don't understand but it really just takes time and hands on experience/practice to understand the basic concept of how to do this type of work well done man.

Holy crap dude! Thanks for this video! I learned a lot! But yeah this is probably better suited for the more intermediate adobe illustrator users that at least know how to use the pen tool and working with layers. I’m more of a photoshop guy that’s trying to learn the concept of mascot design in illustrator and this helped out a lot!! Thank you!!

So though I agree that line work is easier to play with. He easily could’ve used a red as his line work. If the design asked for a black/dark blue primary with red highlights. The recommendations can be the same but instead talk about lighting areas and tone the saturation of the red down to make it more focused on the helmet. A white could’ve been used for the shield and either the red or black could’ve filled in easy for the text.

Do you use real life images and pictures as a inspiration to create a logo? if so, can you make a video teaching how to extract detail from those pictures (ex: a picture of a elephant face turned into a logo just like the second one or other angles, like the third one in the video)

For the cureve part, he says to click on the anchor point before going to the next point. It's actually alt+click on the current point to get rid of the lead direction

About the housing at 17:50 , can the 'offset path' option can do that work?
Well,yea it can but it will look way more distorted and will get a worse look,what you want to do with the housing is to make it as costumizable as posible and not get confused by what you have done.

Was it just me or was his constructive criticism kinda harsh.
Kinda the way of the art world. Tone of voice to some is "harsh" on some points but the points he makes are very valid. Like simple sections: "red and blue don't go with each other" are actually the most basic principles people should know before starting out. Though ironically his thumbnail has that red and blue combo.
