- Music and Sangita Kalanidhi Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer were inseparable. In this tribute, the myriad dimensions including key influences of his iconic music are highlighted by one of his prime disciples, Sangita Kala Acharya Seetha Rajan.
Familiar and rare masterpieces are inter-woven throughout the presentation resulting in a wonderful listening session with expert analysis and rare insights.
The session starts with a prayer composed by Smt Seetha Rajan to commemorate the 17th remembrance day of her Guru. This prayer is sung by her student Rashmi Anand.
Smt Seetha Rajan also shares her personal experience of learning from her Guru Semmangudi Mama for many decades and also about his support in establishing her music school Bala Brundam Sangita Gurukulam and in pioneering the Bodhana music curriculum.
Aarti Ananth Krishnan elaborates further about learning the Semmangudi bani from her guru Smt Seetha Rajan and they conclude by singing Sri Kamalambike composed by Sri Muthuswami Dikshithar in ragam Sri.
