      Yes I have. For me, the type of figure was important, but also what others may think about it, and sometimes I figured I was not enough brave to try on something new. I liked your tips I was wondering how did you get into fashiob in the first place?

      I admire my friend's chic, classy style: tweed blazers, Chanel-like pieces. She looks fantastic and I, in the same outfits, look 10 years older than I wished to look and tweed blazers do me no favors. :/

      @@gochagory Thank you for sharing that with me! I think it is really important to acknowledge where we're at and what could be hiding behind the surface and once we know, we can find the way out much quicker! Answering your question, I always liked fashion from my early days, I used to do photoshoots with my younger siblings and in my teenage years I have been working as a model and that experience has helped in shaping my own perspective about this industry, body and insecurities that came along. I was always paying attention to stylist's work, how they are making certain adjustments on set and so on. Later on I started helping my friends with style, shopping and etc. In my late 20s I quit my lawyer's job and moved to Denmark, started working as a stylist, studied and totally changed my career path (I have master's degree in Law and worked as a Lawyer for quite a bit). And I guess all this experience combined really moves me forward on this path and I see a lot value and purpose in what I do today ❤ Coming from this background I see that there is a lot of bs that we as women have to deal with and I just want to lessen this pressure and make every women feel better ❤

      @@magdakrol8007 Well noticed! Yes, sometimes a tweed blazer can look very chic and sometimes it is the opposite. I believe the whole picture is important including makeup and hair style. Also tweed is a bulky fabric, therefore the cut should be really flattering for your proportions.

    • @magdakrol8007
      @magdakrol8007 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes :) I am not a professional, but from what I noticed, tweed blazers are really flattering for very slim women, like Jackie Kennedy or Kate Middleton. Those blazers also look really interesting when paired with wide-leg jeans. Maybe it's also a question of personality? For example, I feel way more comfortable in a leather jacket. It's important to understand what clothes suit the personality and lifestyle. Not everybody is made for Chanel, right? :)@@giedre

    I swear I have a “funhouse” mirror in my home. I put together an outfit, style my hair, put on jewelry and feel confident that I look great and put together only to see myself in a photo or catch a glimpse of myself in a window reflection or mirror and I’m mortified! How can you help me with this?

    • @giedre
      @giedre  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +25

      Thank you for bringing this up! I believe you are not alone here, haha! First of all as we are very emotional creatures our emotions and feeling change throughout the day which is totally normal and that can reflect in the way you feel about yourself and your outfit too. Another thing is that some of us might not feel comfortable being photographed, while the posture and inner confidence might impact the way we look a lot! I always recommend having a photo folder on your phone and document your outfits so that you can have an unbiased look at your outfit. This process helps also in building up the confidence and better sense of your personal style ❤

    I know what is right for my frame and body type, HOWEVER, clothing manufacturers do not! As I got older and somewhat disabled and can’t exercise anymore I got chubby, but I certainly didn’t get taller. Why are women’s sizes always so long and so baggy ? Very few shorter tops, and rare to find Women’s petite! I want fitted clothing that is short enough for someone who is 5 foot 1, and big busted.. pass this along to clothing companies.

    Loved this video, dear Giedre! Thanks for putting such a good list of tips with possible ways to confront the original issue. For me, the last one, "it's all in your head," applies quite well. I recently bought a fuchsia t-shirt that I liked on the website, but I knew it was risky because I never wore a piece of that color. I decided to go for it to try something different outside of my standard colors. And it worked incredibly well! Many people told me how that color suited me and how I looked more radiant. So, yes, risking a little just to get out our comfort zone can be such a good idea! Thanks for sharing!

    I recently discovered your channel and I really enjoy 😊 it. I was wondering if you might have some suggestions on how to wear cropped jackets (ending at the waist) on an overweight body, e.g., 25-30 lbs overweight. By tucking in a blouse the stomach is more exposed. Is there a way to let the blouse or T-shirt hang out a bit lower and still look good. Keeping in mind, that this would be on a budget. Would love to see a video on that topic. Alternatively, I would have to give away all of these jackets. I realize now that they may not have been a good choice for my body type. I just really liked them.

      Hi! Thank you for joining the tribe! ❤ I think the best option is to wear those jackets with high waisted bottom pieces. You can try out half-tuck as well. Also try matching your cropped jackets with one piece: dresses (for instance a shirt dress), jumpsuits, or one column color two pieces sets. I hope you'll find your way to style them! Btw, I have several styling episodes with an apple shaped lady and planning to do one more in upcoming weeks (or maybe even a live styling session) so please keep an eye on my channel! ❤

    I'm going to write a very impolite comment :) Because the video is very good and useful. But I have many friends who are never happy with the way they look. In response to any advice, they only respond with whining about how unfair fate is to them. Although from an objective point of view they look quite good, taking into account their age, lifestyle and effort. I am convinced that this is a matter of arrogance: for some reason a person is convinced that he was born to look like a supermodel, dressed by an expensive stylist. And they are always, always dissatisfied.

I think we are prone to see our bodies through the lens that our society has formed and that is usually so far away from the real body standards. She can wear boy's jeans and men's blazers (which are made 10x better than women's) and they look like they were tailor made for her. My husband brought back a man's Harris tweed jacket from Scotland for me, but it didn't fit anywhere. My shoulders are too narrow and hips are too wide. So we tried it on my friend and it fit her perfectly. Now it's hers. Sigh. Just to say, there are some real advantages to having an athletic, boyish figure, and to still have it at 75! Wow! First of all, make sure your bra is supporting properly as lifted brests helps to create some space and opt for a mid-rise bottom pieces. If you are belting choose belts that are not too wide or the ones that doesn't have fabric in the middle (for instance Zara: 6399/007). Also use top layers to divide the upper part (blazers, open cardigans, vests, etc). V-necklines also helps to elongate overall silhouette. Hope that helps!

      Haha, well my shoe size did change after the pregnancy but later on working with more and more women I noticed that it's just a normal thing and I think the earlier we realize it the better it is for not only comfort but our health as well ❤ And I am still selling my shoe collection too! 😁

      I think she used the language we tell ourselves. I’m absolutely sure it is not meant to demean. I know I’m certainly unkinder to myself regarding my appearance than I am towards others.

    Have a look at your eyebrows. One is lush snd dark, the other thinner and completely different colour. How do you get to tell us how to look when you’re this badly put together??

      Well I guess I just had ‘a bad eyebrows day’🫢 My intention with the content I create is never to drag someone down but to share my knowledge and experience in order to provide you with the tools. However, I am not trying (nor suggesting this to you) to be perfect in my everyday life 🎈
