The west side of lake pat is plum loaded with crappie. My best memories were on a western creek limiting out on crappie in an hour. Unfortunately, the land was bought and closed for natural gas resources. It’s the other boat ramp that leads to the state park. It’s so good. ❤

It’s pronounced Cl”ee”burn, but enjoyed the video. I grew up there and have a 10.5 black mounted. I wouldn’t do it again, but I was only 17.

Cleburne needs some serious rain to get this lake back up to full pool. It's currently unusable with how low the water is.

I went out there with my daughter to finally go fishing, and it was extremely low. Sad.

This is a very good breakdown brother! I fish this lake a lot. I live right there in Cleburne.
Pretty much the entire lake from the west side boat ramp north to Byron Stewart park (Nolan River channel coming into the lake at 67) is all mud flats.
But those rock transitions and the rip rap are productive exactly as you describe for me. Crankbaits and wobbleheads mostly. Tubes and Ned rigs when the bite gets slow.
And TPWD lies about crappie fishing being poor. Byron stewart park is red hot crappie grounds from March to May every single year.

My grandmother made the front page of the paper sinking a station wagon in the late 50’s at the big boat ramp. That was her first boat and she was determined to catch those crappie. May they rest in peace, but good golly it’s in my blood. 🎣
