"The Presidio"" with Sean Connery and Mark Harmon. One of my favs. Thank you for this very fine series of SF. Brought back a lot of childhood memories.
This trip is sizing up to be as expansive and interesting as your NYC trip earlier this year. I have never been to SF but now I feel like I have taken my own visit to this fascinating city.
Don’t believe the political media, SFO is still beautiful. Sure there may be some challenging areas. But that is the case in every major metropolis in the world
Yeah, there’s not much wrong with SF that isn’t also wrong with every big city. Sure, there’s crime and corruption and violence but it’s also a massive city that is densely populated so those same problems are found everywhere in the world. It’s always worth a visit.
I used to be the tour guide on the fire engine tour. It’s a 1955 Mack. All fire ladders in SF are made of wood because of the wires for public transportation.
Thanks for the video!! It has been a long time since I was in San Francisco It was fun to stroll down memory lane and to finally see the Yoda statue Love your videos!!
My childhood Disneyland in mini along with those tickets we alway had those A tickets leftover lol. As always thx 4 taking us all along on your adventure
Adam and Daphne Thank you for showing San Francisco as a beautiful and vibrant city with many wonderful neighborhoods and happy residents with many FUN things to do! Love it !
I don't know if you realize Adam, but the Palace of Fine Arts was featured in The Rock. It was the scene after the chase for Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery talk to each other before he agreed to go to The Rock
The "light bulb" Philo T. Farnsworth is holding is actually a cathode ray tube, the end of which was what displayed the lines of resolution that we recognized as a "picture". Hence the name "the tube" for the televisions we all watched.
I worked for a company which delivered to the Yoda fountain Place the compound, and I actually delivered to his house and got to meet him. He literally has his own road.
A scene from The Rock was also filmed at The Palace of Fine Arts. When Sean Connery escapes and meets up with his daughter for a minute before Nic Cage takes him back in. "Your mother was very shpecial." lol
Thanks Adam 👍🏼 The Fine Arts building looks a little like a Gazebo Or bandstand. Was used as a backdrop for the movie "Time After Time". Release in Aug 31,1979 staring Malcolm McDowell, Mary Steenburgen, and David Warner. In the time of Jack the Ripper. Surprisingly McDowell is not the bad guy.
Great video such beautiful buildings in San Francisco. Love the Disney museum. I love the history of Walt Disney. I use to have lots of old Disney items and books on the history of Disney and just lots of Disney items but sadly most of it got stolen
Adam, I met the man who made Yoda puppet in the original trilogy as well as superman the movie and others. He lives in Antigua and they call him "The Yoda Guy" you should research him. He has items on display at his art studio. You guys should check him out. I wish I could see him again
@@Stan_Cozener Filming has always been permitted in all Disney Parks, I've been to all 12. Flash photography is not because apart from it being annoying to near-by guests it messes with automation tech on a lot of rides
Fun Fact: I saw Mandy Moore in concert when she opened up for the Backstreet Boys Millennium tour of 1999 at the MGM Grand Hotel when I was 11 years old. My friend and I had front row tickets. She sang her hit song 'Candy.' We saw her at the buffet the next day with security around her. It was an awesome memory.
I remember family nights at Disneyland . Tickets were $ 4.50 back in the 1970"s though Litton industries where my Dad worked .I still have a ticket book with an A ticket left .
Regarding the multiplane camera, it was created by Ub Iwerks at least this version of it. There was another one that pre-dates Ub's. It works by animating different cells/planes at different speeds and distance to simulate parallax/depth in a shorts/movies. In other words you could animate the foreground, middle ground, and backgrounds in different speeds. We had one in my art school and had 1 teacher that knew how to use it, but it was never used really. Really sucked because they really pushed the camera as a selling point when they did tours of the animation department at my school.
your tour of the presidio brought back memories for me as I was stationed there I the late 1960s in the 6th army band. I stayed in the last building on the left (just down from the museum you visited) at the time I think that was a mess hall I never expexcted it to end up as a Disney museum the Lucas film building was a hospital
Back in the 70’s I worked in the grocery business in Northern California and a customer wrote a check for her purchase , the last name on the check was Disney she looked at me and said with a smile “ don’t ask yes I’m a relative of Walt” I imagine she got asked that a lot. She was very kind lady.
I definitely get OD's on Disneyland and Disneyworld Vlogs, so repetitive but this Disney Museum was awesome. Two things that that away from the videos with your friend are her constant giggling and pawing of her hair.
If I remember correctly from Film school. The horses on the Eadweard statue are from what he shot in the very first motion picture. He and a friend had a bet if all four horses hooves are off the ground when running. So he developed the video camera to record a horse running.
Adam, I am not sure if you caught this, but the building next to the Crocker Galleria, 111 Sutter Street, was Sam Spade's office in the Humphrey Bogart movie The Maltese Falcon. I am happy you are enjoying San Francisco, and thanks for showing everyone what is going on here for real.
I can't get over that the fog is called Karl. How did I never hear that? I have spent a lot of time in The City (back in the 70's-the early 90's) and no one ever told me.
It's actually kind of "new", started more in the 2000's from some guy who started a Twitter account and called the fog Karl. There are books, billboards, and I've even seen a Christmas ornament of Karl the Fog!
Adam, will y'all be visiting Bodega Bay, the Birds filming locations while your up here? The original Scream house is just a few miles away from there as well.
Holy moly, I would have to split that sushirrito 3 ways with someone! Just half of that burrito was huge!! We have a similar place nearby our house and those sushi burritos are gigantic as well. I don't weigh 120 for the heck of it, takes a lot of will power to eat mindfully!
One of those driverless cars just ran into an emergency vehicle. When I started commuting 60 miles too work in the early 90’s I dreamed I could have a car that drove itself, now retired knowing that cars are driving themselves, scares the crap out of me😂

If you’re still in SF, come to Pier 39 tomorrow! Or today I guess. I work at The Flyer and 7D Experience. Both simulators manufactured by Triotech with Flyer being a flying theater showing San Francisco and 7D which is the biggest XD theater I believe in the country.
If you go up to San Rafael and San Anselmo, where Lucas lives. There is a park that has a Yoda and an Indiana Jones statue. And the diner he loves is there called "Hildy's".
I'm still loving these videos! I have been to alot of where the both of you have been! Adam, I thank you for bringing back the memories that I have! I have been to ILM as well as Lucas Ranch when it was in Marin County, and it is AMAZING!
Thank you for visiting! We appreciate your coverage of your time at the museum!
It was great as always
I would have loved to have gone to that Disney Museum. It was sad to see the drawings of the characters mourning Walt. Thank you for showing us Adam.
Great videos of San Francisco over the last few days! I've never been there, and I'm blown away at how gorgeous it is! Thanks for the armchair tour!
