A couple of months ago I went to two places in Newark, Ironbound, but didn't eat at them... my daughter and I walked around one afternoon and picked up a lot of desserts (LOL) but I also found a store that sold goods from Portugal. I spent a lot of time at Obidos when I lived in Atouguia (Peniche) and this store had all kinds of things I would see in the shops in Obidos. It made me smile and it made me very emotional. You know, saudade!! I haven't been to any in Ottawa (where I am now)... not recently. Not since I came back from Portugal :)
They do such a good job I get scared as a Portuguese! Please, don’t publicize it that much otherwise it will become so expensive we Portuguese all over the world will never be able to go back, and there is nothing we want more than to return home to our ocean, good food and good weather!

OMG, you're killing me! We were in Portugal last November, we stayed in Estoril for a few nights before going to the Algarve. Our first night we went to a place called Jack Pot by the casino on recommendation of the hotel where I had the best grilled Monkfish! And our first Vinho Verde wine! In Alentejo´s Coast you have: Cervejaria Marques in Porto Covo and Tasca do Celso in Vila Nova de Milfontes. In Bragança: Solar Bragançano, Geadas and Tasca do Zé Tuga (that one is my favourite restaurant in Portugal) Love your work...
You have to go to Valécula (in Valhelhas, Serra da Estrela) and to Casas do Côro, in Marialva (near Guarda). The last one is charm hotel with a full experience! Check it out, you will love it.

Hi guys. You must visit Braga! In fact, all of minho. Amazing food, amazing wine (you have to try vinho verde Quinta de Amares) great history, amazing churches, beautifull landscape (visit Gerês!!!!). But all of minho is super! Ponte de Lima, Arcos de Valdevez, Monção, Caminha, Valença (visit fortaleza de Valença), Viana do Castelo... and so mutch more!. Visit in the summer, when all the villages and towns have their local festivities, and the emigrants return for their vacantions. It's simply amanzing! Great fun in Braga is the São João festivity and Noite Branca. Have fun, and stay classy.
You guys should have a Minho tour and try some dishes like: caldo verde, cabrito, arroz de sarrabulho, francesinha (this last one is famous in Porto, but Braga has some of the best restaurants).
Hi guys. Have you ever been to Almeirim and tried "O Toucinho"? I used to make a 50 km detour on purpose to have lunch there. The home owen backed bread called "caralhotas" are definitely the best bread in the world!
Botequim da Mouraria its one of the best in entire Portugal! I got in at 12.00 and finish at 17.00... umbelivel Restaurant! You guys were lucky! But you have so much places to discover, especially in the north! Congrats for the video and for appreciating our cuizine! Cheers.
Also, you need to visit Aldeia Típica de José Franco in Mafra, not a restaurant but you'll probably like it, it also has an amazing chorizo bread. On the way to there you can visit the waterfalls, it's kind of a hidden place
Niceee video! Really inspired me to visit some of these! Thank you. You should really try Céu da Boca in Mondim do Basto. It’s heavenly. Really nice. One man that is the host and his wife is cooking. You step inside the restaurant through a big old closet. So when the closet is closed you have only a living room where you are sitting in. The atmosphere is amazing. And the food? Oh my god. Go for the surprise course. Everything you get is delicious and made from ingredients from the area. And at the end they gave us an exceptional Aguardente to finish it off. Go go go!!!!! Stay healthy though! 🙌🏽

I go back every two years, and after viewing this video, I would like to pass on a restaurant suggestion for you guys to try once this pandemic is over. In Fonte da Telha, there is a restaurant called Boina Verde. Every time I am in Portugal for my 2 weeks vacation, I go here 4 to 6 times. The fish is always fresh, on display for you to chose which one you want, and the owner is the best. If there, or at other restaurants, try vinho verde de pressâo. 4:20 Back in 1312? Mate, people in the 70s still cooked like that. Hell, my grandmother and aunts and mother still cook in the fire place. I'm 25 and every time I'm in the North there will be some meal at some point done in the fire place, especially in the winter. There are even some old arse stoves that use carchoal, pretty common too.

If you've never tried Cave 23 you should give it a try, it's really good. It's in the same back parking lots as Torel Palace in Lisbon. Kim and I probably sample a bit too much the night before we flew out, but the wine and port parrings with the meals were fantastic :)

Portugal and food together with the places and a good wine or a Beer is like haven! You should eat and visit more the North as you say! Not saying the south isn't good but the north is consider by many as the better place to eat (I see you alrady taste a little in Bragança, so you probably know what I'm talking about now)! And of course, the places are also amazing so I believe you will really enjoy!

The north has ALOT of good restaurants, even if lisbon has alot for the turists, in the north theres way more restaurantes and very cheap compared to lisbon. Love your channel! keep it up!

I always get so proud of you! :) Did you know a song of his was adopted as the "signal" for the armed forces to start the revolution in Portugal? a small group took control of every radio station and his song played in every station at the same time, so the army knew when to move to the capital. If you've never tried Cave 23 you should give it a try, it's really good. It's in the same back parking lots as Torel Palace in Lisbon. Kim and I probably sample a bit too much the night before we flew out, but the wine and port parrings with the meals were fantastic :)

Some restaurants very good, some not so. But this time , after our imprisonments are over, your list of excellent eating will be our guide.

Portugal and food together with the places and a good wine or a Beer is like haven! You should eat and visit more the North as you say! Not saying the south isn't good but the north is consider by many as the better place to eat (I see you alrady taste a little in Bragança, so you probably know what I'm talking about now)! And of course, the places are also amazing so I believe you will really enjoy!

The north has ALOT of good restaurants, even if lisbon has alot for the turists, in the north theres way more restaurantes and very cheap compared to lisbon. Love your channel! keep it up!

I love when you put Zeca Afonso portuguese music music on your videos... I always get so proud of you! :) Did you know a song of his was adopted as the "signal" for the armed forces to start the revolution in Portugal? a small group took control of every radio station and his song played in every station at the same time, so the army knew when to move to the capital. It was so well prepared that we left dictatorship without a single shot fired!!! 25th of April... too bad we wont have fireworks this year :(

A fantastic restaurant in Lisbon is Estrela da Bica. Was a highlight when I visited.
