The turbine was backwards. On the black plastic casing of the turbine theres a arrow that indicates the direction in which the turbine should have been spun. If he was spinning it backwards, the turbine might habe been defictive in which the turbine would have charged or completely stopped working. I have to see more bc i want to buy one of these, but i want to see other reviews
OBV Paradox A hydro electric motor still works even if you have it facing the other way, and apparently I think he was holding it the right way, and people are pointing it out that it shows to put it like that in the website

I think maybe the blades are backwards? When you charged it with your finger you were spinning it opposite of what a current would.
Or maybe you used the wires backwards, it looks like that plastic "bottom" might be a shield to keep sticks and leaves off? Just a thought, like if you agree

yeah he did the plastic filter is supposed to be in the front but in the test it was at the back
Charger could have a polarity. May have been discharging to some extent due to the reverse spin. You need to read the instructions. **SEE EDIT BELOW**

The first thing I noticed was that the size of the generator, which should be at the center of the turbine, was too small to generate anything substantial; they should probably make that part of it larger.

I think you have to have the clip on the other side, I think the wire should be down stream (I think it was in the water backwards)

yeah because there was a grate type thing in front of the turbine which is meant to make the flow more smooth as it hits the fan, but he had it downstream...
He had it the right way, if you put it in backwards the turbine would barely turn cause of the grate partially blocking the stream.
Try throwing some pashtet into the water upstream and see if that helps

No it was put in the right direction, the amperage is just too low to charge any Apple device. Apple requires 2.1A while the turbine and power bank puts out a current of only 1.0A

Some of the other posters are correct. You had it in the water backwards. There is a screen on one side and that is to prevent debris from hitting the blades. Time for a do over.

Taras, Hydro-Turbines are 1 direction. You had it running backwards, which will only generate 1/4 of the power, This is done to prevent polarity discharge. They do the same thing in Hydro power plants. Try running it the correct way.

Mr4 I've seen your comment on a few response threads. It would make more sense to have the mesh blocking leaves and sticks from getting into the blades, rather than gathering them just behind blades to clog them up. If he's using it correctly, it's a poorly designed product.

It is backwards, the concave parts of the blades should receive the water, and he put the convex parts. Also it has like a protector grill, it should be upstream. I know because it is A/C it wouldn't matter but I would have tried installing it the other way around (yellow cable pointing downstream)
