They've held up to near daily abuse on the farm, and impressed the hell out of me so far
As a fairly new tech at 25 years old, I have learned that one those tools more than do the job and I’m so glad I bought tools for the quality and practicality than the name! Living paycheck to paycheck and not being able to save money for name on a tool is a sucky way of living when you leave work. Just wish the more experienced guys would starting giving that advice , and stop encouraging debt.
The more experienced guys know that buying cheap tools just increases the amount you ultimately ending up having to spend as you replace all your HOBO Freight Icrap tools with quality tools down the road. If you are living pay check to pay check buying HOBO Freight Icrap tools you need to find a new trade.
I'm in ag tractors, and I have a high torque, best thing I've ever bought, takes off forklift lug nuts like it's no one's business, compared it to our 1 in canon impact, torqued it harder that it could
Hazard Freight Bellingham is a stone throw away from Vancouver. Cross at Abbotsford. But honestly HF been uping their game by having locations in more rural towns where Sears never ventured in and ACE hardware True Value been dropping the ball. Tractor Supply is picking up in rural areas but their hand tools selection is kinda lacking. Dont see much Snappy Mac Matco trucks outside big cities. So kuddos HF servicing the rural towns.
I guess I’m a hairy homeowner 😂😂 harbor freight is my go to for certain hand tools. I even got to use their 9” angle grinder to cut a railroad track for scrap and was surprised how safe I felt using it 😂😂 though I would’ve definitely preferred a cutting torch for that weekend full of work debauchery
Imagine if Harbor Freight started a tool truck franchise on their own to directly compete with the major brands and give more jobs to Americans…That would change the game entirely. Harbor Freight truck coming to your shop once a week..
I do not think that will happen, it is better to open more stores to make access easier and let public come to them. A large part of tool truck prices is the cost of that service.
These new harbor freight tools really are the bees knees! I’ve taken a wrench back to them with a nut welded in it. Clear what I was doing. And they didn’t bat an eye! That’s just the start of the warranty tools I’ve gotten. Almost all we just sacrificed because I know they’ll give me a new one even years down the road. Even the electric tools are stepping up alot. No experience with the new air tools, but plan to get a 1” impact soon.
So you abused a tool welding a nut onto it and you think it was great they warrantied it for you, what it tells me is their tools are so cheaply made that they don't care what you do to it because they are paying pennies on the dollar for the cheap Icrap tools they sell. HOBO Freight is laughing all the way to the bank on people like you.
As a "Harry homeowner", my Kobalt, craftsman and Stanley tools have lasted me 20-25 years, but it has been really nice upgrading to higher quality Snap on tools
As a harry homeowner, you didn't need snap-on tools. Really, nobody absolutely needs snap-on, however tools that get used every day, all day long makes a major difference vs you, doing a repair every once in a blue moon or even one repair a day at most can get away with using budget tools.
I have a set if the icon swivel impact sockets there great but I lost one and went to harbor freight to get a new one They dont sell them individually if one breaks u have to take the whole set in very dumb in my opinion So i called into harbor freight to see if they would sell me one the lady on phone was very nice but they dont have them to sell individually so a snap on replacement it was
I never understood over paying for tool storage. I’m a 20 year diesel tech and I have stored my tools in cheap toolboxes. I have a complete snap on sets in my icon now lol
Icon is certainly a step in the right direction i love alot of their tools especially their wrenches but just like anything from harbor freight there are some products that dont hold up. Im a heavy diesel mechanic by trade and ive broken 5 icon ratchets only one of those had a cheater pipe on it :), yes they warranty them but it isnt worth the hassle and bruised knuckles, i'll be sticking with snap on ratchets. Pricing isnt as big of a gap as HF wants you to think if you have a good truck guy and wait for sales.
I will say that my uncle does machine repair and automotive repair, I just happened to buy into the Hercules tools. He picked them one up and completely switched from his old snap on and Milwaukee tools. That was almost a year ago and he has only started to love them more.
Icon where I live I’ve returned and warranty tools all the time no questions asked ,they don’t say a word I pick the new tool off the shelf and I’m out the door in 2 minutes can’t justify spending 1200$ on a set of fucking wrenches from snap on
I have two snap on comfort grip ratchets that the handles started falling apart. Thought since it was connected to the ratchet it was covered, I was wrong. They want $35 a piece. Got rid of my snap on in my service truck and want and got duralast and HF. Great shit haven’t broken anything. Snap on is a rip off on most shit..
So you admit you have to return for warranty Icon tools from HOBO Freight all the time, that statement alone shows how poor the quality is of the Icon lineup.
I’m an apprentice and I have a harbor, freight, standard toolbox L that I have quickly sold up, and I could not be more happier with my decision in my toolbox rather than be milked for money Bc of a name ofc they still get me with the tool Bc u can’t beat truck tools

When is Harbor Freight going to come out with a double stack 10 drawers like the two fives together and make it a 10 draw it would be nice in a decent price
"Lifetime warranty, no questions asked." WITH, original proof of purchase. They only warranty the tool to the original purchaser. So they don't have a huge degree of faith in their tool. Snap-on and the like, warranty the tool itself regardless of where & by whom it was purchased. At least in my experience.
From my experience if you are an active customer with purchase history, they are not going to search through it for a simple hand tool replacement, and just make it happen to keep a customer happy. Now if you bring a box of rusty stuff you found at a flea market and want to warrant it out for all new stuff... I hope they don't do that.... that's the type of thing to put them out of biz as they sell hundreds of millions of tools every year.
I have had to get a few things replaced through the warranty program at harbor freight. They just broke open a new package and replaced the sockets. Never needed the receipt.
No you don't. If snap on and knipex didn't make tools for them to copy exactly except In the quality materials compartment, they wouldn't have a single item to sell in any store. Now I think it’s a combination of getting older and more experienced combined with “labor shortages” but people are asking me if I want to work for them. If you already got ten years in somewhere I imagine your not straight out of high school. I have a problem with high school kids trying to work for me and my welding company, I tell em cool ya know come on over on a certain day anytime and show me what you can do, play around with the machines I got which are way different than what you find at a vo-tech, and they never show. So just show up if asked to do so. I do know if your having trouble in the private sector it is pretty easy to get into state and municipal jobs turning wrenches if you live up north. Pretty much any state that runs snow plows are always looking for mechanics. You might have to drive a county or two over for a few years before you can get the county you live in sometimes. All depends on when people quit, retire, and die. In pa they had a bunch of mechanics at penn dot in my county. Here in Ohio odot only has two for the whole county but we live in a small county and those two guys got over 20 years in. So this county ain’t hired a mechanic in awhile. Grinder has The same power as a dewalt 60v or plug in, and the high tourqe (not the ultra tourqe) has more power than an Ingersoll Rand 1/2 air impact, and almost as much as a 3/4 drive. They've held up to near daily abuse on the farm, and impressed the hell out of me so far
I would like to see that booth layout in the stores. Alot of the stuff shown there is not available except to order it.
I'm in ag tractors, and I have a high torque, best thing I've ever bought, takes off forklift lug nuts like it's no one's business, compared it to our 1 in canon impact, torqued it harder that it could
i have the snap on version of the stripper pliers and they are awesome
Agree ! Bring harbour freight into Canada 🇨🇦
We need new colors for the icon toolbox, with the black trim
How many truck tools have you replaced for the newer greater one? How many tools are still the original that you bought?
I guess I’m a hairy homeowner 😂😂 harbor freight is my go to for certain hand tools. I even got to use their 9” angle grinder to cut a railroad track for scrap and was surprised how safe I felt using it 😂😂 though I would’ve definitely preferred a cutting torch for that weekend full of work debauchery
Aside from the green Icon box, can you order the other colors with black trim as well?
Great video as usual guys...
Thanks Terry 🫡
Bro, cool to hear you were in aviation! So was i and ive made the switch as well!
WE ALL LOVE CAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ASK HIM WERE THE SEAL IS??????
Imagine if Harbor Freight started a tool truck franchise on their own to directly compete with the major brands and give more jobs to Americans…That would change the game entirely. Harbor Freight truck coming to your shop once a week..
I do not think that will happen, it is better to open more stores to make access easier and let public come to them. A large part of tool truck prices is the cost of that service.
I can literally get to 3 stores with in 25-45 minutes depending on which direction I go.
They got to get more colors for the icon line of tool boxes like they do for the US general it wouldn't be hard for them to do something like that
Where are the complete sets of icon tools like the husky 1200pc set,Doyle, etc ide love to see a complete icon tool assembly😊
I have multiple us general tool boxes. They are good for the money 👍
That socket set with the removable lid and triple foam looks exactly like a new VIM set
I have a set if the icon swivel impact sockets there great but I lost one and went to harbor freight to get a new one They dont sell them individually if one breaks u have to take the whole set in very dumb in my opinion So i called into harbor freight to see if they would sell me one the lady on phone was very nice but they dont have them to sell individually so a snap on replacement it was
You find the part number and call harbor freight parts. Easy peasy.
nope i called and they wont sell the impact swivel individually, i had part the numbers. @@silverbackag9790
I proudly run harbor freight tools. I can get what I need and afford to live.
I will say that my uncle does machine repair and automotive repair, I just happened to buy into the Hercules tools. He picked them one up and completely switched from his old snap on and Milwaukee tools. That was almost a year ago and he has only started to love them more.
Cam is like yeah but snap on
Icon where I live I’ve returned and warranty tools all the time no questions asked ,they don’t say a word I pick the new tool off the shelf and I’m out the door in 2 minutes can’t justify spending 1200$ on a set of fucking wrenches from snap on
I have two snap on comfort grip ratchets that the handles started falling apart. Thought since it was connected to the ratchet it was covered, I was wrong. They want $35 a piece. Got rid of my snap on in my service truck and want and got duralast and HF. Great shit haven’t broken anything. Snap on is a rip off on most shit..
@robertomilanecky my guy warranties my grips.
@@Tombomb1816 two grips out the door we’re almost $80
me to
So you admit you have to return for warranty Icon tools from HOBO Freight all the time, that statement alone shows how poor the quality is of the Icon lineup.
I appreciate it.
Harbor Freight are awesome
Where do I find the wire strippers he picked up and held?
Does this mean we will get to see harbor freight tool test in the field?
I know that's completely bolted together from suffragettes but I would like to get one can I get all the kids in the pricing . 3:00
How do I get folder holders and shelves
I hope Cam got a pile of tools from them!
I’m an apprentice and I have a harbor, freight, standard toolbox
L that I have quickly sold up, and I could not be more happier with my decision in my toolbox rather than be milked for money Bc of a name ofc they still get me with the tool Bc u can’t beat truck tools
Don’t know if it would be good or bad for my bank account if harbour freight had shops in Scotland 😂
Short term bad long term also bad 🤣
I don't have tool truck money, and hazard fart is always like 20 minutes away when I destroy their sockets.
The light bar for the US General Hutch. That must be extra. I just bought a Green Us General Hutch and it didn’t come with one?
Anyone know anything about this?
Princess Auto needs to start stocking H.F. Products like these
I do believe Olsa Tools is located in Canada. They are like Harbor Freight but just starting out.
icon and quinn top brands
Got mine on sale for $450 off, the 72" Slate Grey Series 3 US General rolling toolbox for $1350.
Nothing beats Walmart hyper tough tools
Still use my 1/2 Hercules high torque not bad no complaints
The HB rep looks like Stewart from MadTV...I wanna do it
That Icon pry bar is made by Mayhew.
They look just like Mayhew. Fit and Finish. Plus that handle profile is a dead give away.
I just discovered neutral dropping my snap on cordless ratchet, it’s waaaaaaaaaay faster lol
Icon toolboxes need a blacked out trim option
no way theyre releasing their own of the snap on pipe wrenches (on top of the icon box @2:48) I just bought all 3 sizes from the tool truck )': set me back like 300 something bucks
We want all sizes of toolboxes in purple 💜
Wish I could get these in England
Need White for ICON Boxes and id buy one
When is Harbor Freight going to come out with a double stack 10 drawers like the two fives together and make it a 10 draw it would be nice in a decent price
I think the torque wrenches are calibrated.
But will they ever be in green/High vis???
Someone needs to come up with a icon tool truck lol.
Why cant you sell them in the uk
Is that the price with the battery
Icon torque wrenches are good
"Lifetime warranty, no questions asked." WITH, original proof of purchase.
Wish we had icon in the uk
No you don't. If snap on and knipex didn't make tools for them to copy exactly except In the quality materials compartment, they wouldn't have a single item to sell in any store.
They are a horrible company and the CEO is a complete freak. Number one reason I don't own a single item from harbor freight.
Really, really wish they offered 1/2 sockets above 24mm
I want a 3/4” impact sockets.
Any tips for career swapping? I have been in my current career for 10yrs, looking to swap careers to a Diesel Mechanic.
Then stop talking about it and do it. What do you do now?
@@scrapmanindustries excellent idea. I have my resume together and have sent it out via Indeed and Talent this morning. Thank you for the push. I needed that!
What is the standard for pursuing a career in this industry? Calling, visiting, or just submitting an application online to different companies?
@@SuperBigt64 I’m not really sure about that. When I was younger I would submit resumes all over fill out what ever applications and get no where. The neighboring counties have been short mechanics though.
I wish ICON/Harbour Freight were sold in Australia, I would be very very poor lol
I like all my tools to be made in the 1980
I would consider Icon tools made in USA. A lot of the truck brands are made overseas unfortunately.
Harbor freight . Cheap well made tools. I was raised on them. Us general. I say this they need to drop icon and concentrate totally on US General. Stores need to have inventory. I went to buy tool box and they don't have nothing.
Canada would like a Harbor Freight please.
