If using a dummy battery connector to the Smallrig battery, do you know if the battery life indicator on the camera's screen will display accurate VB99 Pro life?
@@KyleWattsTV so just any usb-c cable or does it have to be specific usb3.0 cable of any sort ? Sorry I’m a little new to using this kind of equipment Thanks for the quick reply too bro
@@KyleWattsTV just the standard battery that goes into the camera and a usb c cable and you’re good to go ? Thanks bro really appreciate it, you’ve been the only one to reply and I’ve been looking everywhere Thank you so much my man 🫶🏼🫶🏼
I just bought one, worked fine for a few hours, then it started to show 0.8W draw even though nothing is hooked up, and also the power button doesn't work when i hold it. It won't turn off the screen. In fact the screen would stay on all the time. Also, the battery loses charge on its own slowly. It says 5 days something battery life left when nothing is plugged in. Anyone experienced this? Any solutions?
From what I have read you can contact smallrig and they will send you a new one free of charge, as long as you have an order number from where you bought it.
I personally can't recommend the small rig battery as it been a failure out of this box. I can't even turn it off anymore as the on off button failed 3days after I received. There are less expensive batteries that do the same thing and they actually work.
Great job on the video Kyle! Thanks for making it.
Kyle, thank you for making this informative video 👍

Digging your Rig! What is the low-footprint tripod you have mounted here?
It was a small tripod stand that came with a zhyiun light. Just repurposed it for this
Neewer, Came-TV and ZGcine all have similar, and slightly cheaper v-mounts. I love Small rig, but the price difference might be a decision maker.
Can you have a cable just going from the battery to the Sony a7siii ? I’m not familiar with D tap and dummy batteries
Yes you can use a usb-c cable straight to the camera

@@bettadenu7 doesn’t need to be a data cable but just one you would use to charge a device.
@@bettadenu7 just a heads up you will still need a battery in the camera when using the usb c cable to power.
