- Hey guys! Today I installed some Vlands headlights for frs, gt86, & brz! I go into depth on how to wire them and use h11 led's. Vlands work best with h7 HID's but if you have LED's that you wanted to use, I show how to make it work! Hope you guys enjoy(:

Just a heads up, I also used H11 bulbs when I first installed my Vlands, but I ended up with water marks inside the lenses after a couple washes. I switched to D2H bulbs and now they sit perfectly inside the headlight. Not too sure about H7’s but a lot of people recommended D2H/S bulbs for these headlights.
is the wiring or anything else different for the d2s bulbs? I bought the vlands with the d2s bulbs so I was just curious

You saved me $50 in D2S bulbs I cancelled an order for. My sealight H11 LED bulbs fit in perfectly and my dust cap was able to fit back on top, kinda weird that you had to bite on yours to make them fit. Light output is also great. Definitely no need for an expensive HID kit when the H11 LED’s do the job.
Hey, hopefully you see this comment but where did you buy the led bulbs on? I bought the ones on the link she bought her headlights on (DS2/H7) but they don’t fit. I’ve been looking around and I’ve seen ones but don’t know if it will fit
@@Datslobrz I got em on Amazon, not sure if they still sell them though. I traded my vlands for some oem 17+ BRZ headlights.

Hey are the H11 low and high beem doe?? I just bought su. VLANDS but not sure which ones to put. Currently my head light have the individual low and high beam (4 bulbs total)

I really want to get these headlights for my FRS. But gonna get headers and coilovers first.
Just recently got mines. I did have an issue with the beams pointing down(im using h11's) but absolutely love these lights! Also replaced the side markers to ones that sync with the turn signal lights and this setup is sooo clean!
i think these lights are always pointed down by default when you get them. there is an easy adjustment screw on the little rectangle part where the triangle connector attatches to. just use a socket wrench to adjust it

you definitely need to put the black cap back on. if not then when winter/rain comes you'll have condensation inside the headlight from the moisture in the air. I transferred my stock HID bulbs and ballast in mine and they only just fit with a hole cut in the middle of the black cap for all the wires to run out. filled the hole with sealant and it's been water tight ever since.
Hi I just installed my vlands also but was wondering if your DRLS come on right when you start your car without you having to touch anything or do you have to turn them on by turning the knob 1 turn.
I guess she doesn’t check here often. But I’m in the same boat. When I put my ebrake down, nothing.. I have to literally have to turn my headlights on one click in order to keep the boomerang on. Kind of sucks

Is there not a way to do this without removing the old turn signal bulb? Ive seen other cars that still have lights down there, but if you unplug it for the triangular plug, how can that be?

I had the same problem with the cap since the LEDs have the fan, so I just cut the cap to size of the fan. Also I recommend getting a flasher relay if you don’t like how fast the sequential turn signal is going. 👌🏼
Majoorrrrr props for doing by yourself 🙌🏽 & still kept recording , I had to ask my friends to help me out lol 😭
I did mines today same vland(olm) headlights from FtSpeed and in my opinion it’s easier to use quick splices and you don’t have to cut into the wires
Do the boomerangs turn on when you put it in "D", like how the basic OEM ones would turn on ?
I know this is a couple years later and im sure youve either got rid of ir fixed it but you didnt need to connect that 3 pin connector into the headlight. It removed your bumper marker lights and also was plugged into the auto leveler that doesnt work on the frs
you should do a sit down video on how you got into cars, learned about cars,etc!!

YOO I've watched at least 8 videos on how to do this and I wired everything up but couldn't get the boomerang and turn signal to work but I finally got it to work thanks to you!

Were you stuck at getting the drl/hid to work? Cause that’s where I’m at. Only my turn signals work
@@P1ST0N580 the issue I was having was using T-taps, i ended up wiring everything directly and everything works.
@@JarredWoods Yeah I was trying to use the blue clamp splicing things that basically everyone recommended but that didn’t work... except for my turn signal. So do you recommend directly connecting the wires to each other?
@@P1ST0N580 yeah i had the same issue lol just direct wire (splice) them and put electrical tape over it and you’ll be good.

Nothing more attractive than a woman that’s into cars and not afraid to work on them.
id steer fr away from wiring stuff up like that. will it work? theoretically yes. But you run the risk of them coming apart. also moisture will make its way into both wires. I hate cutting up oem harness's but if possible get another oem harness and cut the wire and butt splice, then heat shrink over the splice. it'll keep it cleaner and more secure.

LEDs all the way👍🏽🔥but you should’ve left the OEM lights since they always light up more than aftermarkets. Bought some aftermarket headlights for my Acura RSX and they look better in look but at night they suck so I had to put my OEM back😂😅
Might suggest getting a quick release for your bumper. Saves you hella time!!
Does the boomerang come on when the car is on or you have to flip it to the parking lights switch On the stalk ?
Does your boomerang come on when you release the ebrake or when you’re driving? Mines is totally off and the only way to get the boomerang on is to turn the headlights one turn. You?
@@kuelee9382 yeah mines the same way only comes on when u flip it to the parking light settings ( one before the headlights ) but u ca wire them to come on when the car is on but u have to tap into the fuss box and I been lazy to do it lol
One tip for you! Don't take this in a negative way please. On your camera where you attach the shoulder strap, you should remove those small metal rings. Because every time you move your camera around you hear them hitting against the camera. Other then that great video!

Hey love the effort but im sure you are aware this is a hid set up. You must use a relay, ballast, igniter, and hid bulb. Thats why there was a cut out in the dust cap. You will have no moisture get in and hids perform insanely better.

I bought new vland 86 head light assembly for my 2014 scion but the new wiring harnesses do not in stock location like the video shows. Has anyone run into this problem?

Recently installed the vland headlights on my 2016 frs and once I started up the car they lit up and automatically shut off. None of my lights seem to work except my brake light. I also need to stick a pin down the shifter to get in and out of park every time. Anyone know why this may have happened??

Did you use a ballast with it? I bought the Morimoto D2H bulbs for mine and it was suggested to use a ballast but my husband wants to try to run it without them
I just installed mine and followed fed wire into the correct stop, however my driver side inner strip isn’t working but my passenger side one is, am I doing something wrong or missing something? Or should I quadruple check my wiring lol

Questions would I have to do that if I bought a ballast with my bulbs? Because I have good bottom running lights and I don't want to lose them.
The kit comes with the bulb
not the ones from vland.. i believe the OLM ones that are basically "vlands" do come with it tho

yes! I couldn't figure out how to turn the boomerang on with just auto.. so I just turn on my daytime lights if I ever want them on!
