"If I Could Tell Her" is Evan telling Zoe of all of the nice things Connor supposedly said about her, using it as a cover for how Evan truly feels about Zoe. We wanted to follow up from our other videos "waving through a window" and "You will be found" to let everyone know they are important and we all have doubts and struggles.
Dear Evan Hansen synopsis:
A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in.
The original Broadway musical won both a Grammy and a Tony, particularly for Ben Platt's fantastic performance. The musical and lyrics have helped start discussions and awareness of mental illness and youth suicide.

Anyone but Ben Platt.. the movie didn't work with him in it. Glad I saw the Broadway production shortly afterwards to redeem itself. I still enjoyed Groundhog Day as a musical more.

@@slappy76 the movie works with Ben Platt. His acting is fine and his voice is excellent, which is important for a musical film. If you're busy looking at her receding hairlines or wrinkles, it's because you weren't very interested in watching the movie.

Omgosh this channel is awesome and this version is beautiful..this should be a full movie and the zoe and evan is phoenomenal! Addicted to this song.
I know it’s a dark comedy and you aren’t meant to take it 100% seriously, but listening to this again does really reinforce how terrible of a thing Evan is doing to Zoe. She sounds upset at herself near the end for not realizing and he’s creating a connection that wasn’t there. It a term that gets thrown a lot but this is gaslighting. Even if Evan just wanted to make people happy (at least in the beginning) , it’s still good to see that the Musical was aware how messed up it is. Something that it didn’t feel like the movie truly kept.

I first heard this song a few years ago in a nightcore version, then I came across this video. I thought this was from a movie
I got really confused when I saw commercials for a Dear Evan Hansen movie coming out this year, I thought I saw something from the future
I mean Platt was the only actor who was bad. The actor who played Zoe was really good and that’s my opinion as well as most critics.
