    Used to be an assistant manager at five guys in florida...really enjoyed learning the art of honest simple and fresh. Fresh made and no freezers.....buns were delivered twice a week for freshness....but we usually had a third delivery because we were so busy.

    Love the simplicity of their products and especially the process. One of the few places someone with Celiac could eat. Assembling the burger on a fresh surface/wrapper, buns not toasted on the burger grill, and no breaded junk in the fryers. 😘

    I have always understood that pressing after the meat is turned squeezed out the juices. Did he pressed just to get a sear on the other side or is this a design flaw in Five Guy's recipe?

      He "Evened" out the patty so that it will cook evenly instead of potentially uneven from the process they did before where they were smashign balls into "flat" patties

    • @supermoddavid
      @supermoddavid 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      We constantly reconsider our smashing strategy. It changed even 1 week ago. The goal is to "break the seal" from the initial sear and to help even the patty out to cook evenly. Our burgers are served juicy and well done; a very difficult technique to master - let alone doing it multiple patties at a time.

    they didnt show us step by step how to put the burger that sucks

    • @carawells3658
      @carawells3658 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      U smash it, u put it on the grill, u toast the buns on the bread grill, u put the ketchup and mustard on the bottom bun, 3 rings ketchup, 2 mustard, then grilled onions then grilled mushrooms. On the top bun u put Mayo, lettuce, 5 pickles, 2 tomatoes. U put the buns on the foil with the bottom bun in the middle and top bun on the upper left corner. Then slide it down the line. The person on the grill cooks the patties meanwhile, for a regular burger there are 2 patties. Put them on the grill and when u start to see blood flip em. Then they will turn grey and u are almost done. Put 2 slices of cheese on the grill for a second to melt it then put it between the 2 patties. Then take the patties over to the bun and put it on. Then put the top bun on top of the patty. Then u fold the 4 corners of the foil up, then u flip it over and finish folding the foil by rotating the burger and patting it. Then u take the number sticker and put it on. Then u put it in the bag. Then u put in the frys, then the fry topper, then the napkins, and say ORDER NUMBER FIFTY ONE

    Big mistake to press down on the burger while it is cooking. That action presses all the juicy flavor out of the burger making it too dry.

    This is not a true picture...I work at Five Guys so I know....the managers belittle the emloyees in front of the customers and that meet prep they usually have one person doing it. This is why I'm tendering my resignation and leaving on Dec27. I got a job at lowes which pays more and you are treated better. They act like it's life and death not to get something out in 4min. Hello....folks choose to eat out...if they want their food faster....buy groceries..cook it yourself and stay home.

    meat mostly made of soya beans and not from 1% qualified meat either, just an average meat, if you don't put salt and smell it once cooked smelled rotten because of all the crap they put in it to preserve it, the friend toppings are mushy and cheese slices the cheapest of cheapest you can find in supermarkets, five guys? fast food junk.

    • @yesirsky4456

      They don’t have preservatives in their meat , and it’s actually all American beef, not no soy beans 😂
