Money, 2. Time. (It takes 30mins to get my home from my work which is 11km and not in the center of istanbul) you are either too rich or not. if you come to turkey try to look at people’s faces, they are tired, angry looking most of the time. but the thing is tourists shouldn’t worry about these. We always are happy to help. Turks love tourists, we just hate eachother.

Marianne and Chris.......Just a quick tip, next time you find yourself in an area with sweltering heat, what I find that helps is to place a bowl of ice or cold water in front of a fan, the fan then will blow cool air around the van, rather than the existing warm air in the van.

Public transportation must be really cheap in Turkey. I checked the Dogu Express, the train from Ankara to Kars , a distance over 1000 km., and the price in US Dollars was a little over $7.00.The trip takes 24 hrs. In the US such a bus or train trip would be over $100.
Yeah, after Turkish lira lost great value Turkey became very cheap in many services including even health sector so health tourism in Turkey skyrocketed in last few years.
They protect loggerhead turtles similarly on the east coast of the USA. Mainly, North and South Carolina, but along the coast. Great video as usual, always well done and informative!
I went thru the visa process here in Istanbul. My son got his in Bodrum. It took you one day, my son took two days, I took me over two weeks. It was, go to this office, now go to that office, then back to the first office, go to the bank, go to the police station, go back to the first office, etc. Of course, all the different places were spread all over town and I could never expect to visit more than two of them in one day. My advice is to apply in the smallest provincial office you can. I'd also recommend going into the mountains above the Black Sea now and do the lower elevations in the fall.
Absolutely right !! we managed to transfer our application to the Antalya region as in Istanbul it would have been a much longer process - we are so grateful for all the advice

I just stayed one day in Antalya. I get wet cos of the humidity and hot weather. I am not used to live in hottest place.

Public transportation must be really cheap in Turkey. I checked the Dogu Express, the train from Ankara to Kars , a distance over 1000 km., and the price in US Dollars was a little over $7.00.The trip takes 24 hrs. In the US such a bus or train trip would be over $100.
It costs about $100 in winter because of all the hype.
Yeah, after Turkish lira lost great value Turkey became very cheap in many services including even health sector so health tourism in Turkey skyrocketed in last few years.

I went thru the visa process here in Istanbul. My son got his in Bodrum. It took you one day, my son took two days, I took me over two weeks. It was, go to this office, now go to that office, then back to the first office, go to the bank, go to the police station, go back to the first office, etc. Of course, all the different places were spread all over town and I could never expect to visit more than two of them in one day. My advice is to apply in the smallest provincial office you can. I'd also recommend going into the mountains above the Black Sea now and do the lower elevations in the fall.
Absolutely right !! we managed to transfer our application to the Antalya region as in Istanbul it would have been a much longer process - we are so grateful for all the advice
