Had this once at school... well almost. Passing notes between mates right in front of the Teachers desk; an R.E lesson (Religious Ed.). Twice, the three of us got caught out, the third time I did nothing but still got told off big time. It was a supply teacher, who actually, used to be the full time R.E Teacher. Anyway, third time, the three of us got sent out of the classroom to stand in the next room. She came out and seriously, full-on ripped into us; shouting at the top of her voice. I swear I could see smoke coming out of her ears! It built up... seriously it built up so much... and honest to goodness, the three of us tried to keep it in but... we just burst out laughing so loud... right in her face... whilst she's still shouting at us! So we were ordered to stand in separate corners of the room, facing the wall. Bear in mind, that this was a Catholic Secondary (High School) in Wales, UK. She sent down for the school's Deputy Head. So Mr Campbell came up to see the three of us. Okay, so has has the three of us stand with him in the middle of the room and asks us, okay lads, what's going on. So we explained to him truthfully, including the laughing in her face as she was getting angry telling us off... He bursts outlaughing himself. What a legend! So yeah... when someone is going off on one and you are dying to laugh... you either let it out or you'll wet yourself for sure! Laughter is on heck of a stress release!
I met Bruno Kirby and his dad Bruce Kirby... two of the nicest men I ever met. Bruce Kirby was in tons of movies; he played the shopkeeper in Stand By Me. I recognized Bruno and asked for an autograph. He said, "Sure, you should get my dad's also... he's better than me!" That's when I recognized him. I could tell how much they loved each other. Sweet-sweet men.

You can literally see Bruno Kirby fighting back laughter. On the Carol Burnett Show, Tim Conway used to do that to Harvey Korman all the time. RIP, Robin...you left us too soon but with a lot of laughs...
It will shock some people but Robin, genius as he was, did not improvise as much as people like to believe. Most of it was prepared, rehearsed and honed to a fine point. That does not mean that he did not throw in something last minute that tickled his funny bone because he certainly did that and you can tell when he did because his fellow actors would crack up. Just look at Matt Damon when he told about his wife farting. That laugh was not scripted.
Can we all appreciate the fact that Bruno Kirby was one hell of an actor? The guy gave both the young Clemenza in Godfather 2, and Lt Hauk in Good Morning, Vientnam.

I love how they are legitimately all cracking up; that was real laughter, they could barely keep it together during this scene.
I wonder how many times they had to do this scene.
Made me laugh out loud just watching it now.
I think I would really enjoy the outtakes on this scene!
This shows Robin's genius improv ability. And Bruno Kirby doesn't get enough credit for being able to do the scene without cracking up!
For playing such a shitty character, Bruno was fantastic at it. Sometimes watching this you can forget he is quite the comedian himself.
