A lifetime Colorado resident, I have loved this drive my entire life. It's so beautiful - with the lighting and the weather - it always looks different. Driving in Colorado mountains is a privilege.
Nice to see this video of a part of Colorado, my former home, which I miss, now living in southern california. Nothing can replace the Rocky Mountains! Thank you.
Agreed. Im from North Carolina and just got back from Colorado and loved the Rocky Mountains. Driving on i70 next to the Colorado river was also cool and hopefully I can live in Colorado one day
Such a phenomenal channel with phenomenal views. No talking and views I normally can't get near home make this 1 of my most favorite youtube channels. So relaxing to lay here and watch and my wife and I always are watching these videos when we eat. With a huge selection of very long videos I think I'll be watching this channel for a LONG time! I don't see the views getting old anytime soon!
Well done video on this fabulous stretch of highway. It's an astounding feat of engineering, this drive. When going eastbound you really see that the westbound lanes are really a large set of land bridges. But the cool thing is that you get to enjoy both the highway and its great design, and the gorgeous scenery with plenty of time for both.
I drove this route plenty of times (in American Truck Simulator) but the real scenery looks far more impressive, hope to drive there in the future... And thanks for sharing this vid, great drive!
This one is still on my bucket list. But I have travelled the Virgin River Canyon via I-15 in both directions and it's also a great blend of engineering and natural beauty. Add in the Pat Tillman bridge at Hoover Dam and you've got an epic trifecta of remarkable western US freeways.
Definitely agree! We have videos of both the Virgin River Gorge (th-cam.com/video/zDgHuQDy7l8/w-d-xo.html) and of the Hoover Dam and the Pat Tillman Bridge (th-cam.com/video/QWuK5AqVsKY/w-d-xo.html). Thanks for watching!

@@AdventureEveryDay I have kin in New Hampshire, so, I would start the Zephyr in Martinez, California. Though I've yet to do it, the Zephyr in the Sierra has some novel stretches: the big bend around Cape Horn's "infinity canyon"; the snowsheds around Donner; and, I believe, pigtail switchbacks (where the track loops back over itself--when the train is long enough, it actually overlaps itself) running through Coldstream Canyon, before settling down to Truckee. Loosely paralleling I-80 in Nevada, it's rather redundant, to the cross-country drives that I've experienced several times before. Utah gets interesting once again, a different traverse of the Great Salt Lake Desert, then dropping deeply Southwest after Promontory, through Rimrock/Slickrock country that eludes your MUCH-CELEBRATED Video's routes, and that show should only get more intense and long-lasting, through Colorado. Then, the SUPER-LONG tunnel underlying the Berthoud Pass province, followed by more pigtail switchbacks leading into Denver. Then, more farming country similar to I-80's traverse, until Chicago. After I'd transfer there, it's anyone's guess as to what the Amtrak that takes me to New England, will present to me. If I do a lot of night cruising on the rails, I'd very much hope for a full moon, to show me those treasures. "AED Productions" do follow a highly-proscribed format, which is highly enjoyable to most of us, but I'm uncertain how that would work out, for a train journey.
Imagine how beautiful this must have been before there was a highway, when you could ride along the river banks in the California Zephir passenger train.
Amazing video! What camera are you using? I make similar videos but with my iPhone and the stabilization is not perfect, so I would like to improve the quality of my videos.
I drove this road (both ways) during my trip to Colorado this summer. Truly breathtaking views!
It’s the highlight of the trip across the Rockies on I-70 for sure!

On the opposite, South Bank, runs Amtrak's California Zephyr. That too, would be a novel way to experience The Canyon!
Absolutely, we'd love to do the entire ride starting in Chicago. That would be so much fun.

would be nice to do this trek by train, I noticed a train track all the way up...
Amtrak runs through that stretch and I believe the Rocky Mountaineer does as well.

I'm from China. In China, tolls are charged on highways per kilometer. Are there tolls on highways in the United States?
Yes, there are some toll roads in the United States. Each state and city does things differently with how they charge their tolls.
