- The 2nd Summer League performance for the Cleveland Cavaliers was much better than the first.
Emoni Bates, Luke Travers, Jaylon Tyson & Craig Porter Jr. all showed out against the Milwaukee Bucks, erasing the horrific performance from Friday against the Orlando Magic.
The Orlando Magic defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-79 in the NBA 2K25 Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Friday.
The only lead change happened in the opening minutes, with the Magic riding a 36-21 first quarter to an easy victory. They took a 62-41 lead into the half and led by 35 points in the fourth quarter. The Magic shot 47.4% from the field and 37.8% from 3-point range while holding the Cavaliers to 39.7% from the field and 18.8% from long range.
The Magic (1-0) were led by Jett Howard, who finished with 22 points, two rebounds and four assists. Anthony Black collected 20 points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals. Jay Huff amassed 16 points and six rebounds, while Tristan da Silva totaled 13 points, five rebounds and four assists.
The Cavaliers (0-1) were led by Emoni Bates, who accrued 20 points and three rebounds. Jaylon Tyson tallied 15 points and eight rebounds. Craig Porter Jr. provided 10 points, two assists and two steals, while Pete Nance had eight points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
Liked how Emoni played this game vs. the first game. Much more measured and playing within a team concept.

Agreed, Luke is the most ready for the NBA, he is a hi IQ connector and solid defender. Jaylon was a good pick by Koby, has an NBA body, and will help the Cavs down the road. Emoni is coming along nicely on offense, but until he can stay in front of someone on defense, opposing NBA teams will hunt him and make him unplayable.

I agree, Luke Travers was better than Bates and Tyson. Two games in a row Bates went 2-8 from 3 when that is supposed to be his main strength. He just plays out of control half the time,

What's the deal with this kid Tomlin. He seems to be a good size and very mobile, much more likely to be able to defend on the wing than either Emoni Bates or Luke Travers. I looked up his college stats and he had a decent 3p% as well. Why not sign him as a potential 3&D wing? Isn't that exactly what we are needing? 3&D wings with size and mobility?

Travers is hesitant to score , I like his iq and should be on a 2 way contract. Cpj has been ok, played better vs bucks but he has taken bad shots. Bates is ready. Tyson is ready as well

Gawd Kolby is sooooo fawking trash. Matas Buzelis had 28 pts today and we could've traded up to get him. Slid to the bulls , a 6'10 SF smh that can shoot, he went 4-8 in his second summer league game. Would've been perfect next to Garland and Mitch and gave us our big front court back but he's a legit SF. Like what are we doing with redundant Caris and Okoro leaving on the roster.. should've used to trade up. We're doomed.
