A beautiful Zunow! I think it's a touring/randonneur bike, like the KYGM model. And the bird is not a phoenix, it's a Hummingbird. Cheers!

This looks like an old cyclo-cross frame. We did not see too many of them on the road back then, before the days of mountain bikes, this was the ride on a dirt/muddy course.

Good looking bike - I saw in the internet that the weight difference between a good steel frame and a carbon fiber frame is maybe 4-500 grams of difference. That's less than 2 lbs. Then you see what the cost of a new Carbon fiber road bike and compare it to a used bike that you may find at a garage sale and rebuild with a little work. Maybe, two lbs id not too bad. And you're doing recycling for the environment and other good stuff.

Extra weight really only hurts u if you're doing a ton of climbing. Get an older bike or 2010's bike second hand, and throw on some deep dish carbon rims ((best modern upgrade IMO)) and swoosh, retro-rocket!

@@mmurmurjohnson2368 what hurts you is the lateral stiffness of those vintage steel noodles. It rides dreamy when not stressed, the moment you put the power down it's like running on sand. It's maybe because of the old age, or because the steel is real. I'll be on my carbon bike. I agree with regards to carbon rims. Transformative change.

@super8hell 2010's my friend, carbon, alloy, doper's bikes designed around athletes. Modern bikes are designed around consumers, comfy comfy comfy, they're both fun just two different animals.

@@mmurmurjohnson2368 totally. I have a custom prototype carbon frame made in Europe for American brand ControlTech. I suspect it's about 2010s. Perfectly round BB30 press fit bottom bracket, CNC machined dropouts, and aluminium steerer tube mated to the carbon forks. The thing is stiff as a MF and flies up the hill and in a sprint. I have a new PRO vibe pursuit alloy handlebars that dampen some of the harshness. Paired with 56mm Winspace carbon wheels, it's a devil. Have I mentioned a clear coat over raw carbon? I'm not selling it ever. Got the frame for 300 EUR somewhere in France.
