In Sanskrit, Shruti also means “hearing” or “listening”. It can signify the act of paying attention to a speech or communication, and is often used as a call to focus one’s attention. She justified her name🎉
No one EVER gave anyone the freedom to speak. She worked for it. She took it. She deserves it. And by exercising it, she shares it with all of us. May we be brave enough to follow her lead.
Well prepared speech and well presented. Unfortunately the world is an un equal place. It's our own race of humans who create hell in this beautiful world. @lizhang9898 you clearly are still a kid. Let me explain it to you nicely. Once she starts paying her bills she will be more mindful of what she says and what she portrays herself to be in public because these do have consequences. She is graduating and just starting her life. Whats next is that she will start applying to jobs. Guess what employers will think of her when they search her name up on the internet. They will think hey this person can be a problem and a whiner in my workplace so why should I hire her? Its got nothing to do with being submissive to power. Amazing speech and could understand her empathy for her peers. Our students are always united, let us not mix politics which will divide students and it’s not ruining their future but our country’s future. We can have different opinions but let our people and students be our priority.
BRILLIANT! ASTONISHING! AND ABOVE ALL,TRUTHFUL
In Sanskrit, Shruti also means “hearing” or “listening”. It can signify the act of paying attention to a speech or communication, and is often used as a call to focus one’s attention. She justified her name🎉
She beautiful and intriguing misterous
Yep, they should have an open mind to understand what the Jews went through on the 7th Oct 2023
And past 75 years of palastine 🇵🇸 .
Especially those jews went through who were targeted by IDF helicopters and machine guns on that day.
It’s such a courageous act to use your freedom of speech to support a country that does not have freedom of speech.
"Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech." - Silence Dogood
Excellent. The world is truly shifting.
Awesome speech. Kudos to this young woman!
Remember the people who gave you this freedom/Opportunity to speak.Thank you!!
philipbandara they imposed the ban, but she stole the moment which was too late for the stooges.
No one EVER gave anyone the freedom to speak.
She worked for it. She took it. She deserves it.
And by exercising it, she shares it with all of us.
May we be brave enough to follow her lead.
She earned it,nobody gave her except Allah
Who gave? She earned
Not only Harvard, but the whole world needs to hear this brave , truthful and articulate young lady!
So very proud of you Shruti 👏👏
Well prepared speech and well presented.
Unfortunately the world is an un equal place.
It's our own race of humans who create hell in this beautiful world.
Simple human love, respect for each other is forgotten.
Greed and selfishness has taken over. Very few corporations seem to be controlling the world's narrative and the way of life and how we have to live.
It looks like it has gone beyond repair.
Voicces like these are rare gems.
God bless the world
Thanks for enlightening us on the power of "Not Knowing"
Well said young lady as adults we need to get out of your way it's your turn now and hopefully a better world will come from it. I'm Scottish BTW and old.
We all get old one day or another.
I for one will not simply 'get out of her way'.
I will be applauding, cheering and encouraging her every step of the way.
The most Impressive, inspirational, eloquent fearless, full of confidence speech you have ever heard? Her articulation, sagacity, gesture, posture was beyond horizon in this video Unparalleled speech✨
Magnificent! As a unified Human Race, we have a great deal of work to do to evolve and exponentially expand. Shruthi, Thank you for speaking your truth and believing in the power of communication.
You have given the students a stronger voice by silencing them. Well done!
The students are taught to protect and promote democracy and justice all their life but they are violently silenced when they practice what they learned. Shruti you made the entire humanity proud by standing up to the oppressors. You acquired education and not just a piece of paper that Harvard denied to the 13 brave men and women. Harvard can deny a piece of paper but can’t take away what they have learned and are practicing their right to freedom of expression.
True !!!!
Wow! She restores my comfort with not knowing. She feeds my curiosity. Excellent, from the heart, words.
That he who hath ears, may he hear.
She knows no glass ceiling, she has no limits, she speaks truth and endeavours to ensure that others may do so.
A brave & brilliant soul.
Well said, well express, brave young woman, God bless you and bless the 13 undergraduate and all brave students and staff who defended the rights
“ Harvard do you hear US “ thank you SHRUTHI for this BOLD & BEAUTIFUL Speech ❤
Harvard is s protector and promoter of corporate America’s morally corrupt interests.
Shruti, you have courage and integrity, and balance. You have walked a fine line, in standing up for your peers, and pleading their cause, with fine and crisp rhetoric, and hard hitting articulation.
"Silence is rarely empty."
It is from moments of uncertainty that something greater than one could have ever imagined, grows.
she has got all the virtues and commitment reflecting in her wonderful speech...A budding leader... Great future awaits ..pl keep the same tempo and spirit in your speech and deeds. ..❤
Amazing outspoken
woman. We need more people like her.
I want to adopt her as my second daughter. If there was a thing like that I want kids like her to be empowered supported and given all the space they need.
She is amazing. Said&conveyed full message across the world!
Wow, courage ,conviction, humanity and social responsibility are qualities of a good citizen who could and will change fellow human beings lives for the better. Congratulations .well done and reach for the sky
Incredible show of honesty & commitment to world peace!
She was speaking from heart, I know. God bless sister and all of you.
Shrurthi , you amaze me with your so powerful speech! I did not know you until today but will not stop knowing you from now onward. I do not know what career you'll persue but i know for sure that you'll excell in every step. Best wishes from an Egyptian woman.
Shruthi, if you run for office, any office, I will vote for you. You are made for it.
This is one of the best ways to think as the future leader of this country. Never accepting anything but always asking questions about everything. In fact, there is no better way to think and I hope the Harvard graduates take this speech to heart.
AMAZING. I am sobbing at this. She is a brilliant genius and a crucial face and voice of both higher education AND multitudes of representation AND, beyond both, empathy, compassion, and justice. Thank the UNIVERSE and her and all of the experience of life for infinitely, powerfully brave people such as this outstanding woman, scholar, speaker, and representative for and of our future. THIS speech and bravery gives me hope, FINALLY, for a healthier and safer future. GOOD JOB, YOU GO GIRL!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!! And, of course, a huge congratulations. This is just the very beginning, and this is exactly the leadership we need. Best and most uplifting and important video I've seen yet.
It's sometimes really hard to express the situation of "not knowing" and scary to say "I don't know". But finding a way to know, makes the difference. What a brave speech she gave. Usually people will be like "you're from Harvard, don't you know this?" That's kind of cruel. Especially the main victims are the first Generation students. She literally roared like a lioness saying "it's okay to say I don't know, but find a way to know". Knowledge is power. Let the students acquire the power.
Pride goes before destruction (Prov 16:18).
Hers?
"It says so right here in this book!"
Freedom of speech is this commencement speech, she took Harvard by surprise ... Harvard gifted Graduation and She gifted this speech....
I'm so proud of you daughter and your parents
I am crying too from thousand miles away...from Bangladesh .
Love and good wishes for them who stood for childerence women of Gaza.
Hamas is a terrorist organization. There are known terrorist organizations in Bangladesh just like ISIS. Ethnic cleansing of minorities in Bangladesh. Minorities are always discriminated in Bangladesh for employment, schools and businesses etc. My kudos to those few brave men and women in Bangladesh who are genuinely working for the human rights for these minorities to save the culture and language.

Did not see a word condemning Hamas or other terrorist organisations. No one likes what is going on in Gaza, but all the student protestors are clueless or don’t want to think about how to stop Hamas from causing all the trouble.

Young people learning to challenge power, albeit sometimes in imperfect way, moved human civilization forward.
Bs wait till she gets into the real world and starts paying her own bills.
@@avidyoutuber4952 IMO paying her own bills has nothing to do with learning challenging power. Oh wait, did you say this because you became totally submissive to power once you started paying your own bills? I’m sorry to hear that.
But it all has to do about being a responsble adult. Let me leave you with the saying that people start off as idealistic liberals with lofty ideas of changing the world as kids but once the reality of life and the real world sets in, they turn conservative once they become adults.
Oh wait. Her daddy must be so rich he could employ her in their family corp. Got it.
@@avidyoutuber4952 torchbearers suffer for what they believe. Jesus was a believer and suffered in the hands of the oppressors but set us free. If you are scared and afraid of losing comfort because you speak the truth, I can understand but trying to write her own narrative is unacceptable. She is not you and you would never have had the courage to do this. It's still okay to play safe like you choose but let others who can pave the way.
