Folks outside of the bus business won’t believe me when I say that most people either drive or own buses because it’s in their blood, not because it’s has a huge profit margin. The costs of running these buses is so high most people wouldn’t believe it.
8V71 N Detroit diesel engine with fuller five speed manual transmission I've missed classic tours bus company I've used to see those buses back then when I was a kid to adult 2009 was the last time I seen that bus the memories will cross my mind as always
I gotta figure out how to get them to let me drive this bus. I currently drive for Lakeland up in Dover, NJ. They have one of our 1990s MCI units as well.
1983. MCI still offered manuals, as far as I can tell, through the D4000/D4500 which was produced until 2005 or so. I'm not sure if they offered it all the way to the end of that model's run.

I drove an MCI model 9 with a 5 speed mechanical transmission, with a 8V71 Detroit, it was a church bus.

Sweet ride.
What year is this classic bus, to still have a stick shift? I imagine after 1970s, none were really manufactured anymore.

@yitznewton That's awesome! So cool!
Do you need a CDL to drive one or are they exempt?
For personal use no, although your state may require an air brake endorsement.
Nice MC-9. Too bad both backup lights were dead.
