For those wondering what happens next, the author made an after story called food wars dessert where we see what happens to eveyone after the conclusion and it's assumed Soma and Erina got together even though Soma left the academy to become like his father before finishing his third year without telling anyone. Everyone else just became successful and solved their conflicts while waiting for his return to Japan

The ending just makes you want more of it since Erina just confessed in her mind that she loves Soma and his cooking. Also I think her pride just can’t allow her to say his cooking is delicious

This is the anime that got me into cooking. It was a good ride
It reignited my spark for cooking and wanting to try out some of these recipes like the chicken wraps from season 1 when Soma helped out the street his diners on

Just recently watched all 5 seasons of food wars with no break or rest between seasons.
I may not be an og that's seen the show since day 1 and seen it grow.
But still it's a hell of a show and is underated as that

The ending of this anime just makes me want more since Erina loves Soma and I want to know what the future has in store for them. Along with does Soma survive his 3rd year of the cooking school.

they basically left us with a cliff hanger only if they would make an ova or a season 6 to cover this love story but sadly probably won't happen;c sad this good anime series had to come to an end just like everything comes to an end it was a good run food wars 2015-2020 food wars will have a special place in my heart.

As for the opening ending, this is my Headcanon:
I’m supposing erina still told him his food was disgusting but in her inner mind she always says delicious. In Erina’s inner mind she will promise to keep telling soma his food is disgusting because she knows he always brings the best dishes when he pushes himself to get her to say delicious. In her mind if she ever did tell him his food was delicious he wouldn’t have the same passion which I’m fine with.
We need a movie or a few Ova's to tie up the loose ends.

This is a cooking anime! Why are all the openings absolute bangers. They just emenate hype!
This anime came out as I was nearing the end of eighth grade. Just watched the last episode. Now it's been over a month into my sophomore year of college. I'm glad I was able to go through high school and part of college while watching this. Thanks for the memories. I definitely won't be forgetting them anytime soon. :)

i can´t stop listen all the opening every day, this was a special anime for me because i´m studying Gastronomy and made me remember my passion for the kitchen and all this world since i was 8 or 10 years, for this reason this anime was so sentimental and reached my heart
The 4th op (Braver) is my favorite.
The synth waves and the sad singing at the start is perfect. I love the dramatic feeling.
And the ending of this op is just lit, i love the beat drop with the whispers and the scene of Yukihira walking through the flames.

OP 6 Chronos is by far the best. Its effects, transitions, music and the meaning it transmit ( the facing against the 10 seats) It's just magnific.

Openings 1 2 and 3 are great but the start of op 2 will always be my favorite
I swear Shokugeki helped me in realizing once more how much I loved cooking and even though I can't pursue it with my health, I still need to thank this series for such fond memories. Cooking is still my passion and that certainly won't end.
