In1965, this film was released in Raghuveera theatre of Anantapur, India...people came to see this film from villages in Bullock carts from a long distance of 50 kms...super film of that age with that old technology.. actually it is a satire on British monarchy during the times of Jonathan Swift! A must watch movie to all!
I have the original copy of this on a tape. Excellent film. Too bad they dont make films with such character as these anymore

Danny Kaye had been sought for the leading part of Gulliver , but Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn would not release him from his contract . Ray also revealed that " originally it was going to be a musical too and , at one stage , Charles asked Jack Lemmon to play the lead , but this wasn't really his cup of tea " .
What do you think about that? A musical. Also, the final battle was supposed to have been with a giant rat but due to Charles Shneer’s loathing of the animals, it was changed to an alligator.
