Sounds like you've learned loads in a short time... check you out... now your "dropping this off, picking up this trailer, tip that one" 👌 another great vlog!
I assume you're working for Half Price Haulage possibly on the Kimberley Clark contract? Dont worry mate far better stuff out there once you have a few months behind you. Good job on the videos ive seen, keep at it 🚛👍
Here's all you need to know about night driving. In 2001 the wife used to work for a public non profit making tax payer funded service called the Highways Agency (before it was privatised) and she used to have to go out and organise the recovery and repairs after accidents. One month she witnessed a record 30 drivers killed (the record still stands) while night driving. Apparently, the drivers would be out with another job or down the pub or whatever during the day, then start work in the evening driving the truck to the motorway then putting it in cruise control, then falling asleep. Obviously they don't do it now because they never wake up. If you're not suited to night driving, and I've had night jobs where it is PITCH black and almost impossible to see anything with the 2 little beams of light from the headlamps, no phospheresence or even starlight, DON'T DO IT.
Spent two years with different agencies. They don't care & they're Not drivers so they don't know. Lots of firms drivers don't like agency drivers so leave you to The last before loading you. Gave up in the end.
Had my first outing for new agency last night in a curtain side, zero idea, newish driver with just a couple of weeks dropping off box trailers. Rocked up, and they basically chucked me the keys and left me too it, was told no need to bother with vehicle checks, (i did anyway) Got to my destination and had to open the curtains before i went into the yard, and close them up after i had been loaded before i left, which was fun, got there in the end. (thanks to watching youtube vids) 😅 New truck to me also, (volvo) never driven one. All in all, felt like i got chucked in at the deep end, didnt get told much about the delivery or what to do, made it to destination and back to base no problems, so job done id say, and certainly gained a bit of experience.
@@michaelevans1260 Shut it fool! The guys that got on with learning the job from the bottom up are wondering if someone that only wants 8 hour days and the pick of the jobs is suitable for the transport industry! If you don't know what you are talking about, best to keep your mouth shut!

Mate keep up the good work mate. Totally understand not knowing where controls are. It can be very stressful.

I think he'd struggle with any kind of haulage the way that he keeps whining and expecting everyone else to keep wiping his arse for him!
