Where did this guy come from, he just popped in my feed a few weeks ago with some of the most banger terraria content, just straight ascended from the TH-cam recommendation heavens.
Your shenanigans have pulled me into doing another attempt at a terraria hardcore run. Or at least a version of one; it's not technically true hardcore, but it's still a challenge. Still trying to figure out a good name for it; current frontrunners are 'heirloom hardcore' or 'reincarnation hardcore'. Essentially, the character is set to hardcore but if they die, the same world remains and the new hardcore character is born into it (basic concept came from my impatience at how long it took to generate new worlds vs how fast I constantly died to stupid crap. I also like building pretty things and hate losing them in like 5 minutes). Dead character still loses all of their items, and no character is allowed to leave the world to look for accessories or supplies in a new one; so if I'm carrying the only one of something and I die, the next character has to live and continue with the fallout of that loss. I'm currently on character 7, and have lost so many good accessories. New character has access to anything already stashed within the world, but some things are a lot easier to find more of than others. I've currently been lucky enough to run into an enchanted sword, and I live in fear of losing it, as it's by far the strongest weapon any of the characters have had (previous best weapon was a wand of sparking, with a zombie arm running a close second place). It gives a unique challenge that I didn't quite see coming, namely, inventory management. Especially early game with a fragile character, considering the world's on expert mode. If I'm out exploring and I find something good, but I'm far from home, I have to decide if I want to gamble on continuing the mission and risking loss of all items, or making my way back home/tp'ing home and stashing the item in a chest for either when I'm a bit less fragile or for the next character's benefit. It also means gambling on whether or not to equip a new armor piece when I won't get the full set bonus or full defense bonus from it, and might end up losing it bc the character is so fragile. I've lost the equivalent of about 1.5 full sets of tungsten armor across several characters, and now Character 7 is stuck in tin armor w/ no health upgrades, hoarding what tungsten I have in the form of a single helmet in a chest, waiting to get enough to make the full set. Money in the piggy bank is also character-specific, so any character looking to leave the next one some money in their will has to store it in a chest instead, bc once someone dies, everything in the piggy bank gets wiped. As far as my planning ahead goes, I still think it's possible to lose under these conditions, especially if I make it to late game, because I could see some bosses absolutely soft-locking me if I die too many times and lose valuable movement accessories that can't be duplicated. I can also easily forsee having to deal with issues that I normally wouldn't, like fall damage post-horseshoe. Normally, I'd find one and then basically disregard building anything in mind in terms of fall damage forever. This time, if there's only one horseshoe and I die, fall damage might become a permanent consideration. Heart crystals will also definitely be a potential loss factor, as I'm not sure I'm a skilled enough player to go full glass cannon on expert hardmode if worst comes to worst and I can no longer raise a new character's health above the baseline. Currently, the one thing I've learned how to not lose are what few summons I have (ie. Abigail). I figure that as long as I don't misclick and dismiss her, I won't need to resummon her, so I summon her once at base when logging into the world, then stash the flower in a box. Granted, it means I can't ask her to target anything specific, but I'm figuring out how to kind of nudge her in the direction I want, and her hitbox/contact damage to enemies is definitely helping in that department. Mage is also looking the most viable in terms of 'if this character dies like 50 times, what are my options', bc falling stars/mana crystals are renewable where heart crystals won't be. Of course, I could still end up losing all my magic weapons, but it looks like the one stat I won't have to worry about being able to raise from scratch on a new character.
@@alexanderboyy Now that I think about it, I suppose so. Though at least with mediumcore, you have a chance at retrieving your items. IDK, I wanted to do a hardcore run of some kind, but I after like the 5th new world in 15 minutes, having to wait for it to generate a new one each time got a bit irritating. I still plan on doing a more 'proper' hardcore run sometime, but for right now, I'm enjoying the chaos. Just lost my 13th character to a very poorly executed jump over lava and am totally not still seething and malding and replaying the moment over and over in my head with clown music
Make sure to place arena items in important locations like campfires and heart lanterns. Also, because of how platforms work, if you hammer 3 stacked on top of each other into stairs, not only can you walk through the wall to the right of them if you hold down but you can also shoot through them which may help with farming. Great series so far!
To stop devourer spawns you can do the same thing with giant worms and just place player made walls behind you and they won't spawn. This also worms with all other worms enemies as far as I know. I haven't tested it on bone skeletons so it might not work on those Also unrelated to worms, you don't need your arena to be a house for it to stop enemy spawns inside it you just need player made background walls. You can also have lava on the floor as long as you remove all natural background walls that could spawn enemies.
I could not wait until the next episode came out. Once I saw this I immediately had to watch it! One of the most entertaining playthroughs I've ever seen!
@@wildlmao Yeah, it works fine to do that stuff without the crafted one, but the acceleration can be a lifesaver during situations like building minecart tracks around enemies and when you fell off the track while fighting EoW. In hardcore, such risks are best avoided if possible. Worst case scenario, this will make future attempts of building minecart tracks much easier and safer.
I love this series. I’d love to see more hardcore runs with twists. Only npc items, only f tier items, every item is automatically the worst debuff, only use items from the last boss you killed, no mining/bombs. Only one inventory slot. Every boss is added to the next boss fight (only eye, then eye and eater, then eye eater and slime, ect until you fight moonlord and every other boss at the same time). Every time you kill a monster, the next one that spawns has better stats (if you farm slimes then eventually they will be way too hard to kill). Entire world is corruption. A lot of these would need to be modded and I’m not sure how good some would play out but there is so much potential in challenge runs with huge stakes and exponential difficulty
So I've played this challenge (on classic so I can learn from mistake without having to sit for hours) and since devours are worms, they will not spawn if you have a wall behind you Also, I would REALLY advise you to farm for the slime staff or the fruitcake thing from gifts during christmas as they are absolutely necessary Tho now you might want to get the Flinx Staff as a replacement, or the Vampire Frogs if you get a blood moon (with a better setup you can kill a ton of blood enemies, you'll get 2-3 tears per night if you farm) Another powerful equipment is the Snapthorn, the jungle spawn rate isn't really that higher then normal thanks to the underground jungle being incredibly cramped, combine that with the obsidian armor after the EoW and you'll destroy common enemies As for bosses, here is a little fun fact: Most bosses blocks enemy spawn due to them taking a lot of space themself, but when you increase the cap by 30, it isn't so great For exemple, skeletron takes 6 spot, the maximum enemy count on the surface is 5, blocking everything, but with 180 spots instead, you get 174 spots for enemies... effectively removing boss spawn reduction Most other method of reducing like npcs or peace candles use percentage based instead, making them as effective as normal (So use those pink gel and A LOT of them) If you want to (and if you die) we can do a coop together and teach you some of the tricks I have learned
Oh oh, also, an INCREDIBLY powerful thing to use, hoiks, they are by far the best way to make one way doors for enemies, that would of saved you so much time for the corruption

Hey dude, I'm really enjoying this series, keep up the good work! Just a tip: if you have some iron/lead bars, you could create the "minecart", it has more aceleration, top speed and damage than the default one, it will help you a lot in this early game.
Before I got to the part where you came up with the box to fight EoW in, I was thinking of making an artifical corruption and covering the corrupt blocks with wood so it spawns slimes instead of eaters. But your idea worked out probably better. The only thing I would've done differently is that I would've built the box somewhere higher so the surface is out of range for it to spawn mobs, and place the corrupt blocks around to make it corruption biome once the box is done, it would've been easier I think. :)
With all the slimes that spawn, if you get some pink gel from pinkies and some gold/plat bars. You can make a peace candle. Stack those with Gnomes and Calming potions, and It's a ghost town. I bet it will make a significant dent in the spawns. I know it'll be hard, but try to rig up pylons to get around your world faster and make fishing spots there to grab loot easier. I don't do insane challenge runs like this, but I have a habit of locking out as many mob spawns as possible and always having a ready fishing spot in a biome.
I got stuck in Sky Island Harpy Hell™ in my own Master Mode playthrough thanks to a blood moon, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise due to one crucial factor; *_Abigail._* She floats just behind the player, but goes through walls, so if you walk up to a wall with an enemy outside, and then turn around, she will go through and aggro, mercilessly killing everything she sees. Once she's had the taste of blood, she will not stop killing until there are no more enemies nearby (or you just leave), so you can get a _lot_ of harpy feathers and money this way. So if you want a decent way to kill enemies through walls, you might consider turning a few of your NPCs to gravestones... 🪦 👻
My absolute Banger hint for a Pre Hardmode Arena is: 5-10 Floors above each other and before beginning the bossfight, spread all the spike balls you get from the Goblins. Good extra chunk of damage, especially for a boss like the EoW 🙌
You should’ve used the eater of souls banned on the eater of worlds arena, banners reduce the damage taken! (obviously talking about the first eow arena- not the chunky house.)
A strategy I did to cheese eater of worlds was building a long narrow box with placed walls, a slimy saddle and a mace (any mace would do) and just jump on eater of worlds, you'll rapidly bounce back and forth on his segments due to the ceiling of the box and plus damage with the swinging of the mace. It shreds EOW.
just for your information ,if you reach moonlord , replace the wood wall with glass otherwise he will be behind the wall and you won't be able to see it
Initially found your channel through the stay in water challenge and I'm hooked. You've got great ideas and your execution is great too. I also like the zelda music!
I'm pretty sure player-placed walls stop mob spawns on their own, and don't forget that if you're standing on a player-placed wall, worm enemies (most likely including devourers) don't spawn!
Fun fact: did you know when I was doing a Hardcore master mode challenge I was in the corruption and it only took 189 eaters to get the entire set of Armor so I got really lucky
most enemies that can hit you through blocks (like worms, wyverns, chaos elementals, etc.) cannot spawn if you're standing in front of player-placed background walls. This would probably be pretty useful in this challenge, since then you can safely tunnel without worrying about getting hit by things. There are some exceptions, like goblin sorcerers and most event mobs.
Man this show's better then most of the shit we have on the internet. I literally stop everything i'm doing to whatch it. Man you're doing a really good job! Brazilian fan here :)
the lawnmower can cut grass (which decreases enemy spawnrate) maybe you can use that in the hallow after wall of flesh is defeated (might backfire later but shouldnt be that bad of a idea)
I stop everything I’m doing to watch these videos. The editing and your overall comedy is just top tier.

My man its good to see you grow that quickly. Keep having fun in the game, you'd be in the trending pages soon.
Man this video got me so traumatized that im feeling like mobs are gonna spawn from the north if i scroll down the comments of this video XD
Been waiting for this for so long 😭
I've just finished rewatching lotr and this music..
My absolute Banger hint for a Pre Hardmode Arena is: 5-10 Floors above each other and before beginning the bossfight, spread all the spike balls you get from the Goblins. Good extra chunk of damage, especially for a boss like the EoW 🙌
We are witnessing the birth of a future terraria celebrity. This channel is so good it's just a matter of time before you get super popular
You should’ve used the eater of souls banned on the eater of worlds arena, banners reduce the damage taken! (obviously talking about the first eow arena- not the chunky house.)
You deserve all the success coming to your channel, very cool.
UHUUU I WAS WAITING FOR A 3 EPISODE MAN my favorite series
A strategy I did to cheese eater of worlds was building a long narrow box with placed walls, a slimy saddle and a mace (any mace would do) and just jump on eater of worlds, you'll rapidly bounce back and forth on his segments due to the ceiling of the box and plus damage with the swinging of the mace. It shreds EOW.
Eater of worl
This is my first video from you and it’s great! Gonna stick around for a while
14:47 aww no nibbler of lands... lol
Editing is insane
Been a while since yt terraria community got this gud
just for your information ,if you reach moonlord , replace the wood wall with glass
otherwise he will be behind the wall and you won't be able to see it
0:37 the mimic ahh sound
This series has been amazing. Love your narration and editing style!
Omg what a high quality Terraria content TH-camr 🤩 I really enjoy watching this series, hopefully you can upload next ep very soon !
the lord of the rings music goes crazy
Initially found your channel through the stay in water challenge and I'm hooked. You've got great ideas and your execution is great too. I also like the zelda music!
This Challenge got me addicted. Please MOAR sweet 30x :)
If your having problems with worm enemies. Standing behind player placed walls prevent them from spawning.
I'm pretty sure player-placed walls stop mob spawns on their own, and don't forget that if you're standing on a player-placed wall, worm enemies (most likely including devourers) don't spawn!
I don't know about terarria and i stumble upon your video by chance and this series is entertaining to watch. Keep it up
This guy has the best terraria videos on youtube.
I’m so glad you grit your teeth and kept going through this challenge, it is extremely hilarious and entertaining!
Fun fact: did you know when I was doing a Hardcore master mode challenge I was in the corruption and it only took 189 eaters to get the entire set of Armor so I got really lucky
pov
imagine what would happen in you would play that "30x enemies" on surface in "Get Fixed Boi" seed
alone at this seed the enemy spawn rate is crazy
this popped up as i was watching last episode
most enemies that can hit you through blocks (like worms, wyverns, chaos elementals, etc.) cannot spawn if you're standing in front of player-placed background walls.
Honestly. Eater of worlds is difficult. But wall of flesh is on a whole different level
Eater of worl
(not a typo)
time to wall off all of the underworld.
You should use jester arrows for the eater of souls because they float in a line when trying to get you.
Wow! That's such an enjoyable playthrough!! Keep it up!!!!
The Skywards Sword music man that hit so hard i gotta replay it now
the lawnmower can cut grass (which decreases enemy spawnrate) maybe you can use that in the hallow after wall of flesh is defeated (might backfire later but shouldnt be that bad of a idea)
The sound effects are op man. I love this series!
