Warren's playing is just so clean and perfect, every time, all the time. Truly one of the greatest rock guitarists around today, and vastly underrated.
Damn sure he is the most underrated guitar player on this planet. If playing means give emotions and not only going fast , Warren to me is in the top 10 list of all times.
Today is my daughter’s birthday and I named her after this song. I miss you Gregg. I bought a couple of Hammond organs so I can keep your music and your soul alive.
My name to I love this song..makes me celebrate being me ..and a great band sang this song..that's a celebration of life to me ❤❤❤ rock on ..can't get any better than this ..❤
This may be the best version of this song they have done. there music will carry for generations. im 17 and i love this. most my friends do too. thats just good music.
If this was a drink at a bar, I would ask for the entire bottle, It doesn't get any smoother than this. I have to play it again, Warren is soo smooth on the guitar, the feelings he gives out its soo warm. Has to be one of my top three all time favorites!!
Totally made me cry....... my two all time favorite bands.... Allman Brothers and Dave Matthews. Never knew they performed together until just now and I'm so glad they did. What a beautiful sweet memory.....RIP Gregg Allman. xoxo
Melly Mel my daughter was named Jessica for the Allman Brothers instrumental. It was close though. It was between Jessica and Melissa. Honestly, I liked this song better but my husband liked Jessica.
What an incredible version of this classic. Three wonderful guitar players coming together to do a beautiful song. Just can't get enough of Warren's weeping guitar combined with the awesome acoustic sound from Dave and Gregg. Absolutely wonderful.
MsMae 0 seconds ago I go by my middle name, but was actually named after this song. I’d never heard any other rendition besides the original (which is one of my favs)…Haynes’ playing brought me to tears. Stunning.
First song written by Dwayne early 70's. He was having trouble fitting the "perfect" name in the lyrics.....heard a mother call out to her little girl in a roadside cafe " MELISSA.....MELISSA"......the rest is history. 🎸 R.I.P. Dwayne and Warren
I saw Warren Haynes from the rail at Gorge in 2011 and he was amazing. Then, later that same evening, Warren and Tim traded licks during Cortez the Killer. Freaking 15 feet away from me. Never going to forget that.
Why not? It's his style of singing, and he sounds great. You can't get much better than these three artists, singing one ot the best songs of all time.
Very well said ... I might add --> Warren plays with soul .. he plays what he feels which is something many of the "hey look at me" shredders don't have ...
what a wonder organization for our famers dave mathewis so a strong voice with greg just think how many people greg had song that song with him each one gets better
And Dwayne wanted to play with Clapton just as bad! The Allman Brothers were at the Fillmore West Clapton was in some studio in San Francisco that's destiny!
I still miss Duane and and Butch trucks! Dwayne with that sweet Les Paul and that's slide no wonder hair Clapton wanted him so bad for Derek and the Domino's!
My dad was a loser left my mom pregnant with me for aubstances and other women.....my mom named me from this song. And damn that was a wishful idea she had. 27 years late he came back to me....he was the gypsy and died.
Warren's playing is just so clean and perfect, every time, all the time. Truly one of the greatest rock guitarists around today, and vastly underrated.
This song takes me back about 45 years, my school mate Richard and me, jammin' with two guitars, goin on and on with sweet Melissa. Sweet memories.
Nice to see dave play with greg ( may he rest in peace- he deserves it; so much pain he has had in his life). Daves voice is like fine wine.

I was there!
All three Rock and Roll true Legends Gregg, Dave, Warren
Warren is one of my favorite guitar players out there not because he plays a lot of fast notes, but because he plays the right ones.
Very well said sir.
Exactly, many times three or four notes say more than five hundred.
His guitar playing is so hauntingly beautiful. One of my favorite guitarists
Well said!
First I have heard this. Warren Haynes....WOW!
Beautiful. Dave sings with such feeling. Greg and Warren as always, are superb.
Respectfully disagree. Dave's tone is fair but his phrasing and feel are way off the mark. CHEERS
@@MikeBixbyyou weren’t there, the groan from the crowd when Dave sung. Dude is so bad.
@@Jon-dj1wk I heard cheering🤷♂. There's a reason why Allman and Haynes perform with him. I trust their judgment over yours.
@@MikeBixby Respectfully disagree. I haven't seen too many that sing with as much emotion as him.
This one is a treasure. What a lovely and unforgettable tune!
Gives me chills…such talent and such deep soul in a song for a Gypsy!
Always loved this song.....I really love this version 😊 RIP...this world loves and misses you.
What a Historic Moment in Music Rock and Roll history Wish I could of seen the two music legends together at this concert
I was named Melissa after this song! To hear Dave collaborate on it is AMAZING... Love love love it!
Melly Mel my daughter was named Jessica for the Allman Brothers instrumental. It was close though. It was between Jessica and Melissa. Honestly, I liked this song better but my husband liked Jessica.
