    jaeguchi is actually disliked by most kpop fans for their translations due to the fact they push them out as soon as possible, the lyrics aren't double checked or took from reliable sources. its fine if you like to use these videos, just keep in mind the translations and the members they show aren't always correct.

    If you guys like breaking down the lyrics, I'll suggest doolset also. There are many korean references in their songs that we don't always understand and she breaks it down pretty well. Color coded does help with seeing who's singing/rapping... sometimes it's not accurate though.

    OUTRO:TEAR but the live version. Its a song by the three rappers of BTS(RM, Suga, and J-Hope) also it would be nice if you got to the Guide to BTS: The Bangtan 7 (by taylor) at some point

    A caveat for lyric videos: the translation isn't always good. Some of them release them as quickly as possible to get views, neglecting the quality of the translation. Some good sources for lyric videos are: Dial 6137, af taehyung, Enjoy BTS More. This last one actually specializes in providing good translation for BTS live performances and has a vast collection.
    For jazz, V has just released "Le Jazz de V" where he covers "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" and "Cheek to Cheek". Or for an original song, he has "Snow Flower".
    Agust D has some more songs that are fan favorites: "Agust D" (diss track) and "The Last" (deep personal song) are aggressive rap if you want some more of that, as well as "People" and "People pt. 2" if you want to try some of his more mellow songs.
    For RM the poet, he has "Joke" if you want to see his insane flows, "Wild Flower" if you want to see his deep poetic lyrics, "everythingoes" for inspirational chill song.
    For J-hope, "More" and "Arson" if you want a grittier rock sound, "Daydream" and "Ego" for his bright, dance-y songs, and "Airplane" for some chill rap.
    And when they rap together, they're explosive: Outro Tear, Ugh, Ddaeng, and the Cyphers 1-4. For Ugh and Ddaeng, explanation videos by DKDKTV will help you understand the cultural context and the wordplay.

    5:20 RM actually does something similar in quite a few of their songs, like for example in We Are Bulletproof pt 2: The pride of hip hop guys said it's *impossible* but take a look, there's a period in it, *I'm possible*
    Word/language play is a big part of their (especially RM's) lyricism. 💜

  • @_username5491
    @_username5491 ปีที่แล้ว +29

    RM has actually done wordplay similar to the rej32 (sorry don’t know how to spell his name 😅) example you gave, in both English and Korean! Some of the examples that come to mind are in We are Bulletproof Pt.2, where he says “Look carefully at me, placing a period on impossible, I’m possible”, some of his most popular wordplays are in his song Trivia:Love, with lines like:
    (English wordplay)
    “You make I to an O… Live to a Love”
    “Though the distance between I and U is long, F*** JKLMNOPQRST, I crossed all the letters and reached you (U)”
    (Korean wordplay)
    “I’m just a human, human, human
    You erode all my edges and make me love, love, love”
    - The Korean for human is 사람 (notice the ㅁ character), and the Korean for love is 사랑 (notice the ㅇ character),so if you erode the edges of the ㅁ character, it makes the ㅇ character, thereby turning human (사람) into love (사랑)!
    He’s the main lyricist in BTS, and often has lyrics with layers and layers of meaning and wordplay, the examples I gave barely even scratch the surface

      @butterbuttersbetter3689 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I instantly thought of Trivia: Love when they were referencing the English rapper’s lyrics. Sounds like he and RM gave a lot in common with the way they think about words and lyrics.

    So wow, guys, you’re in for a treat with the 3 rappers’ discography.
    Since you like Suga/Agust D, you should know that he has 2 solo mixtapes (Agust D & D2) and the recent album, D-Day. If you take these works chronologically, you will get a sense of his growth and journey as an artist. He is a sterling producer/composer as much as he is a songwriter rapper. You saw the Daechwita MV (from D2) and the Haegeum MV (from D-Day), and observed a thread being developed. He began as a very angry young man and has mellowed philosophically, but the social commentary in his lyrics are always spot on.
    RM is the poet. You should check out JOKE MV (mind-blowing flows)…, and Mono, his second mixtape, but his recent album, INDIGO, showcases his musical range and vision: every track is a different genre!
    As for JHope, you will do yourself a great service by viewing his solo stage (Jack in the Box), headlining at Lollapalooza in September 2022. It is the performance of a charismatic and authentic artist… You can view it on EnjoyBTSmore channel.
    Finally, the rapline explodes with their unique ENERGY in 4 legendary live performances:
    1. THE CYPHERS MEDLEY
    2. OUTRO: TEAR (at Wembley)
    3. DAENG (this one is so culturally witty, you’ll need to see the explanation video by DKDKTV)
    4. UGH! (The lyrics are scathing, and there is an explanation video as well)
    ENJOY THE RIDE!

    Guys, Suga aka Agust D's Seoul concert (end of his world tour) is being live streamed this weekend, Saturday 10am and Sunday 9am British Summer Time. I saw the live stream of his concert in Japan. It was amazing. I am sure you would love it.💜

    One of the BTS members V just dropped covers of jazz songs: th-cam.com/video/SUNnMsq8OKU/w-d-xo.html
    Fans suspect his upcoming solo album will include a lot of jazz or jazz inspired songs bc he loves the genre so much.

    Thanks for the reaction. ARMY actually prefers checking doolset for translation instead of watching the lyrics video as a lot of BTS songs have cultural references or references to their older songs that you won't find it from the lyrics videos. Also, the lyrics videos were released in a haste that some translations or color codes were not done correctly.
    BTS discography includes different genres, so you can always find a song that suits your mood. Hope to see you react to more BTS music.

    I really enjoy your reactions and like that you actually have interesting commentary about the music. Thanks for giving our favorite boys a listen. Since BTS started as a hip hop group, I'd like to hear your thoughts on their earliest songs on their first mini albums "2 Cool 4 School" and "ORUL82." TBH you probably won't get as many views from reacting to the early stuff, but it is rewarding to get a glimpse of where BTS started and hear their progression and growth to where they are today. Plus, while their earlier stuff was less polished, it was still really good. They had a very nostalgic 90's feel when they started. 💜💜💜

    Please don't use color coded lyrics video (some actually steal half copyright from artists by including bits at the end)! Recommend using live performance videos by searching EngSub with the title instead. Channel Enjoy BTS More has iconic performances with accurate translations. Thanks for reaction 💜

  • @marirezende8478
    @marirezende8478 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Jaeguchi and Lemoring are actually not good channels for translations guys

  • @chere100
    @chere100 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Jaeguchi and Lemoring are both trash for translations. I strongly suggest going to others. You'd probably figure out who's actually good with time, but it's faster to tell you. Enjoy BTS More is good for live translations. Dial 6137 and af taehyung have shown to be reliable. One of the ways I've been able to tell as an ARMY if a channel would be good for translation is their name and how long the video took to release. Too fast a release usually means a rushed translation. Probably no good. As for names, they'll usually have names that imply they're ARMYs. And of course, ARMYs are more likely to put effort into BTS translations. Hence, usually better translation.
    Another clue that helps find good translation is views. More views usually mean it was released quickly. Not that it is the best translation. So, when picking I normally skipped the translation with the most views. Though, I skip Jaeguchi and Lemoring almost every time, because I know they're bad. They've failed me way too many times. Bad translation, wrong person shown performing, smh. 🤦‍♀

    Enjoyed your tidbits of info.
    Just a heads up for next time,
    Please avoid using lyric video channels with large number of views like jaeguchi and lemoring.
    Alternatives : af taehyung, dial613, enjoy bts more, zaty farhani.
    Any video with less number of views actually have better translations.
    Here are all the rappers solo albums and mixtapes
    RM mixtape 2015 RM
    Agust d mixtape 2016 Agust d
    Hope World mixtape 2018 jhope
    Mono mixtape 2019 RM
    D-2 mixtape 2020 Agust d
    Jack in the box album 2022 jhope
