One time when I was flying, I heard over the PA "Climb, climb now" when we were on an approach. One of the pilots must've meant to hit the AP Disc button and ended up hitting the PTT button instead :D
@@surrarham7223 TCAS stands for traffic collision avoidance system - it's the system that yells "Climb, descend, clear of conflict, traffic" etc. when it detects other aircraft that are too close. It pretty much does as the name suggests - it gives commands to the pilots to avoid collision with other traffic
I remember when I flew to Eindhoven and we had extreme weather and I was in the 2nd row and we were on approach and I heard the overspeed warning and pull up, we immediately did a go around
You forgot a few: 1. There can also be "Too low gear" and "Too low flaps" (GPWS) "Too low, gear" means that the gear is shifted to first, causing less speed, more torque, and more engine power. "Too low, flaps" is an indicator that tells the flaps are set in an incorrect position during approach phase. 2. "Runway too short!" (ROPS) This obviously means that the runway below the plane is too thin to touchdown. 3. Master Caution (GPWS) Master caution or Master warning tells the crew that there is a critical problem with the aircraft and tells them to resolve it as quick as possible. 4. Autopilot Disconnection (GPWS) Autopilot is a state where the plane is in a self-fly mode. Autopilot disconnection warning is where the autopilot gets disengaged and is in control with the pilots once more. Fact: Some aviation geeks usually mark this as an unknown alarm. Here are 3 more: 5. Takeoff warning This indicates that something is going wrong during the takeoff sequence of an aircraft. 6. Retard (Only on Airbus aircrafts) This is telling you to reduce throttles to idle, or 0 power, to smoothly land the plane. 7. Depressurization warning It indicates that the plane is running out of oxygen and requests to set cabin pressurization to manual. If it fails, oxygen masks can be released to prevent unconsciousness.
8. Operation conflict warning (airbus exclusive) "Dual inputs" - It indicates that control sticks on both sides are moved at the same time, and the summed control command is exceeding the allowed range. This might happen if a pilot falls faint and leans on his or her controls (or if you're flying with Pierre Bonin) "Priority left/right" - Pressing the autopilot disconnect button for 40 seconds disables the control stick on the other side and corrects the condition.
Immagine the pilots connect gpws to the announcement and all you hear is WINDSHEAR PULL UP! GLIDESLOPE STALL OVERSPEED BANK ANGLE ENGINE 1 FIRE,ENGINE 2 FIRE TOO LOW GEAR.
Yo, the stall is incorrect i think. (Correct me if im wrong) a stall is where the wings/plane does not have enough airspeed to gain lift, so it will fall until you recover by gently pointing the nose down and gently bring it back up. Although, there might be more reasons.
For people who want extra info: Stall means that the angle the air is hitting the wings is too high and the wings can’t generate lift. GPWS is a system that does multiple things such as terrain avoidance radio altimeter callouts etc… For the B737 if you hear a caution terrain callout it means you are around 60 seconds away from impact if you hear terran terrain pull up pull up you are 20-30 seconds away from impact. The fire detection system can only detect fires in the cargo compartments the engines or the apu. The go around windshear ahead warning is a predictive warning the weather radar gives and both Boeing and Airbus have it. The GPWS also detects wineshears by rapid changes in airspeed or altitude and some other factors and these two warnings are different and have different responses. The TCAS system gives a TA traffic advisory if 2 planes are close to each other but not a collision is predicted and the aircraft gives a traffic traffic alert. If both planes are in the same flight path and create risk of collision TCAS will issue a RA revolution advisory such as saying climb to one plane and descend to the other.
