Luved it & special nights espec boxing Ali Bugner Stracey 'Enry Cooper Bruno with that staggering body build like no other boxer including Ali back then & now its t'other way round Tyson Fury, Ruiz takes the biscuit!
I think I recall Bob Pailsley blamed Emlyn Hughes for not marking properly for the goal. You see in the replay behind the goal, Emlyn trailing behind. He left at the end of this season to go to Wolves. I listend to this on Radio 2. Epic game.
Strange to see shirts without advertising.....Great days. Really liked this United away strip. Dalglish world class in this period but think this was a transitional year for liverpool with hindsight. The teams before and after best this United team.
How did he whole recording of this game survive? And are there any more from this period? I didn't think there were any except the cup finals until 1983.
I'm not sure but I think maybe Irish (Eire) showed full matches from England back then or maybe a Scandinavian country & broadcast it using the original English commentary.
Well by now BBC didnt wipe important vids & this was kept. Live matches then were only FAC finals & Euro Cups finals. So this would have been shown as full highlights on Sportsnight.
I remember the journey home was eventful to say the least not many coaches back to Manchester had a full set of windows when they got back happy days and six years later it happened again

Emlyn Hughes was a great servant for Liverpool & if Paisley did criticise him well hopefully not demeaningly. He gave his all did Crazy Horse.
