    My addiction is to milk chocolate. I have eliminated it at times, curbed and greatly reduced my consumption and then it creeps back in. It literally is my weakest link to 100% compliance. I cam say no to many baked goods and sweets because that darned milk chocolate addiction is so strong. I've made and eaten chocolate nice cream and I got out of the habit of making it. I'm going to make a goal of making it once a week like I used to. My husband and I are planning our shared Thanksgiving meal now. I'm headed to your website for inspiration.

    We have to have a veganized version of Naomi Judd's sweet potato soufflé with dandies marshmallows melted on top. Those have been part of my family Thanksgiving since I was a child and I've continued the tradition.

    Thank you for this video!!! I so needed this right now! You continue to be such an inspiration and I'm so glad I found your channel. I was wondering what your family and friends think of your WFPB lifestyle? Are they accepting of it? At gatherings, do you bring your own food to share? I am struggling a bit with family and friends not understanding this way of eating. Even my kids with their friends can be hard. Just wondering how you got through it socially when you first made the transition? Thank you so much for everything you do Kiki!! 💕

    I bought your Plant Lean 28 day meal plan. It is the biggest answer to prayer ever. We have been plant base for almost 9 years and we got off track and started eating the unhealthy Plant Base foods because we just didn't have time to make food with our schedule. I came across your page about a year ago and have loved everything I have made and so has my family. I been dying to create meal plans for the week but am not creative at all. I started yours last week and its PERFECT. It is realistic. It is simple. It is soooo tasty. I love the variety and how it actually is more of a lifestyle rather then just a diet. I am soooo beyond grateful for what you have created for our family. This is the first time I have found something that makes sense for us since we started 9 years ago. So thank you so stinking much!

      Your post gives me hope! I’m working to reverse diabetes now, I knew I had it last year & lost 16 pounds but A1c is still high…I love watching Kiki’s videos & I’ve been learning so much, she makes it seem doable to eat WFPB oil free etc however I haven’t grasped the possibility to lose weight eating all the “carbs” lol it’s slowly sinking in food density low calorie…I just want to jump in and try it but nervous it’s gonna make me hungrier etc.

    • @jonellejones308
      @jonellejones308 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LadiesofPurposeTV you can do it! One of the big keys to lowering your A1c is removing fat from your diet (fat within your cells is what cause elevated blood sugar, when fat is in the cells insulin can’t open them to let the glucose in therefore it remains in the blood) and following a plant based diet,! I was able to reverse my pre-diabetes by going oil free (still use nuts when cooking and I eat olives) and by eating a ton of fruits and starchy vegetables! If you get an eating plan in place, weight loss will follow!

    • @LadiesofPurposeTV
      @LadiesofPurposeTV 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jonellejones308 awww thanks so much for the reply! That was so sweet of you;). Thanks for the tips on that & encouragement. I did make Kiki’s vegan cheese sauce after I posted here today & her blueberry muffins…they were both SO good & my family enjoyed them too!! No oil, no eggs, no butter etc. the cheese sauce I drizzled over 2 cups of broccoli and felt satisfied & full for dinner. Then I had spaghetti squash & nutritional yeast & some vegan cheese (I’m already GF & DF) so had these in hand…and I added spinach & more broccoli to the squash noodles. So yummy! I’m surprised I’m not craving meats tonight but I know meats are something I enjoy. & crave on the daily. J was reading Neil Barnard book some today & he wa explaining its some sorta drug like feeling when we crave cheeses & meats. Interesting;). Great job on reversing your pre diabetes 😃. That’s something to celebrate for sure 🎊🎊🎊. Are you in any groups anywhere for plant based? I don’t get on Fb hardly every. But didn’t know if there’s any forums anywhere?
      Thanks so much!!! -Shannon

    • @jonellejones308
      @jonellejones308 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LadiesofPurposeTV I’ve found TH-cam to be very helpful doing a search “Whole Foods plant based” (that’s how I found Kiki). I also watched every documentary on plant based eating. Forks Over Knives. Game Changers. What the Health….etc. There are so many. I also have a number of doctors/experts I watch on TH-cam. Kiki of course! Dean Ornish. Neal Barnard. Michael Greger. John McDougall. Chef AJ. Cyrus Khambatta and Robby Barbaro just to name a few. They offer tips and tricks and expert advice on this lifestyle.
      It sounds like you are well on your way. Transitioning is the hardest part for people. I had it a little easier as I was not a huge meat fan. I hated eggs and did very little dairy. It’s sometimes best to dive in and go 100% for a month (that way you can actually see a real change) and then you will be motivated to go further! I went vegan in 2019 (but ate a lot of processed vegan junk food…Oreos are vegan 🤣) and went Whole Food Plant Based this past spring (when I found out I was pre-diabetic and had high blood pressure…both of which I have reversed and lost over 20 pounds). I asked my husband to try WFPB for just a month 100%. He made it to 2 months and he lowered his blood pressure dose. In 4 months he was no longer pre-diabetic. This is the one way of eating that can actually cure your body…we are now committed for the rest of our lives. We feel too incredible to go back to eating animals or processed foods.
      You’ve got this. Just keep watching Kiki and add in some documentaries and check out the other experts!

    I absolutely love all these tips!! I’m so glad I found your channel. For some reason, I tend to always adjust recipes and use them more as inspiration and a rough guide and I usually cut back sugar and oil by a large amount (especially with baked goods) and the outcome is still always great. I make sure the texture still resembles what it should look like or replace some of the oil to get to a similar texture. Add more cinnamon or vanilla, some maple syrup for more flavor with less sugar and don’t hesitate to taste during the process to get an idea of what it will taste like. It is an extra level of excitement to steer away from the recipe but in most instances no regret and often I wish rather I’d cut down the sugar even more. I love pastries and baked goods but don’t enjoy if it’s too sweet.

    Kiki you are Ahhhhmazing!!!!!!❤️. I just love your heart & how you share so much to help us GET this!!! I for one appreciate every time you explain this way of eating bc it’s so new to me the idea of not eating meat/oils etc. Your videos & website inspire me so much and all the delish foods you make give me such healthy cravings for Whole Foods plants!!!! I’ve been considering you & Hannahs program too but trying to practice some before I go all in bc I feed my family of 8 meats, veggies, fruits & they eat lots of dairy. (I am dairy free, gluten free) already so just working to go oil and meat free is really hanging me up😆. We’ve been engrained high fat, low carb so long…ugh! It’s so hard to shift the thinking. I keep praying for a solution for me to reverse type 2 diabetes (just started meds last week but have high A1c a year or more now) I tried whole 30/plant paradox, paleo and lost 16 pounds since February 2021 did great until august when dairy & junk crept in along with stress that triggered anxiety & panic attacks from my blood glucose being in dangerous range😢. (I want to shed 80-100 pounds, I’m 5ft 11.) So now I’m back on GF, DF & keep finding myself intrigued about how you eat so healthy & the food looks so inviting. I’m nervous eating potatoes, beans & rice will spike my sugar high & im not sure if I’ll just be eating only salads. I also have 15 chickens soooo eggs are a thing here that we all really enjoy however I’ve found over last year eggs sometimes make me nauseous 🤔. Sooo I know I should cut them out and see. All this to say, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL INSPIRATION TO ME😁. You bless my heart & give me hope that I can change my health for the better! I would love to be one of your success stories someday! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!! 🍁🍂. Blessings, Shannon

    Once I stopped all sugar it became easy to make the goodies for others and I just skip them!! I also discovered monk fruit!!!! Makes the candies and cookies a little better ;)

    Love these tips for the holidays, Kiki! 💗 I know you had a chocolate mug cake around this time last year, but do you have a pumpkin or spiced or fall type version that you’ve maybe played around with? I’d love to add one to my sweet treats, because I live on your chocolate mug cake recipe! 🎉🙏🏼💗

      @@PlantifulKiki that’s right you do have that parfait and I haven’t tried that yet! I’ll have to do that! 🥰 Oh that cookie version of the mug cake sounds amazing too and if you ever do come up with a fall inspired recipe for it, I know I would be just as obsessed as I already am with the chocolate one! Enjoy your holiday season with family this year! 😁

    I enjoyed this video but also it’s biological that we gain weight especially in the “winter” months whenever that is based on where you are on the world. It’s natural to gain a little and then lose it in the summer. Why do people fear this natural part of being a human? enjoy your time with your family and please don’t worry so much! seeing the same number on the scale isn’t the most important part!

    Could you post a recipe of your “indulgent” vegan apple pie? I know it is not “super healthy” but I am looking for a good vegan recipe. Or maybe a video?

    I am excited to watch this. I started added egg whites and fish to my wfpb because my trainer said I need 100 grams of protein a day. I am ok with this but I for sure see the scale go up. So interested in what u have to say about this. Also for brain Health so many people said u need fish for that reason, interested in your thoughts please and ty

      I am having same issue… it’s hard to believe what’s really true anymore.. do we really need a lot of protein? The vegan doctors say no and everyone else says yes 🤦‍♀️

    • @PlantifulKiki
      @PlantifulKiki  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ok so for me personally, I have had zero issue building muscle on a wfpb diet. You can always focus your meals around beans and lentils if you really want to bump up the protein, but ive had no trouble personally. For dha/epa I take a vegan multi that has it....You can read the blog I wrote on it on my website, just enter Complement Blog into the search bar. I have a discount code in there as well if you want to try it:)
