Yes ,when I was in nursing school during my clinical rotations in the paediatric floor I had a needle prick injury after doing a random blood sugar to my patient ...oh my god I froze!!!

It’s always scary for sure! I think as a student even more!!

I was stuck by a needle and the patient was hiv positive I was immediately seen and treated with post exposure medications for 1 month I had to be tested for hiv for a year and I am almost 3 years post stick and hiv negative!!!

The patient had a clysis needle in and had been playing with it over night I was removing it the next day on my shift and had not realized that one of the needles was turned to the outside of the dressing and it poked my finger I didn’t freak out in front of him when I felt the poke but once out side of the room I freaked out and immediately washed my hands for 10 minutes in my infections control managers office I was 6 months pregnant at the time I raced down the stairs once I got instructions on what to do and went to the hospital and received treatment

Sorry this happened to you. My brother in law is a janitor in a bad neighborhood and got a needle stick from a discarded needle by a dumpster. Probably from an iv drug user. It was many years ago.
