Folks, this is what "act of kindness" is. We need to see more of it in this world. You guys are awesome! Oh, Congratulations on your new boat. You did a smart move purchasing a "Tye's Cat".
Tye, you are such a good Doobie.. Helping one another is what it's all about. I'm an old Chris Craft factory glass man from the late 60's early 70's and done many repairs. They have much better materials today, stronger and more flex. For that couple, life will never be the same again as long as they stay with it. COME BACK SOON GUY'S
Missed you guys. Fabrication is what interests me. Adventures I can have on my own catamaran. Don't cater to a member of the minority like me here. You guys deserve to be suscessful in your streaming venture. Just sometimes remember we exist.
You guys did great! Teaching new boaters the skills and proving them they can do it! I can imagine their satisfaction! How much would have been spent on pros?
Congrats to the new owners!!!! May the fall in the love with the heay work of full time cruising!! Why am I seeing so much rudder trouble lately on youtube!!
Cool episode! Great you were able to help your friends! Have you seen what @TravelSketch is going through with their "new" cat? They've been on the hard for over 480 days dealing with warranty repair work.
@@SailingDauntless Oops, my mistake! Well, you've repaired two catamarans; and have done an amazing job on both not only with repairs, but with upgrades as well!
The compensation rings(thrust bearing) are to be tight to rudder bearing surface i saw major gap in your video .There should also be a bead of 5200 where rudder stock comes out of rudder as flexing causes cracking water ingress
Even if they decide that they would rather pay to have all thier fiberglass repairs done in the future, they now have a good base knowledge that will allow them to quality check and judge the repairs being done.
If memory serves me right they checked and added the reinforcements to it. You should be able to scroll back in the channel and actually be able to find the videos they did on it
Ty put it the kit from Lagoon after seeing some delamination, but after seeing the related issues with the hull and bulkheads along with the decking.. I wouldn't even sail on one without major inspections and retrofitting.
Hi I met a guy in green cove hank I belive refitting a Pearson 42 ketch.we both follow your adventures. Now since you have done extensive victron installation I have a question. I want to buy a 24v inverter but will like to have also a 12v side.is there a dual voltage or I have to buy a dcto DC to step down to 12. Any light very greatful
If you bothered watching their earlier videos, Ty fixed all the known issues with the L45. But go ahead and make yourself feel better by putting other people down.
@@btrotta "All the known issues!?" Have you seen the videos of the extensive "known issues" these vessels have!? The bulkhead to hull weakness, the front decking literally being held down by a few screws and some glue, that can, and has, failed while. Sailing in light seas!? These things have more issues than a bad mother in law.
@@btrotta I did watch Ty work on the bulkheads, and while Ty appears to have strong abilities and skills, the consensus seems to be that the build quality of these vessels is terrible on verily important levels.
And unlike Leopard which tortures its victims (they call them "customers", but they turn them into victims) trying as much as they can to shrug away from their warranty responsibilities - Lagoon at least took responsibility and offered their customers (not victims) an easy course of action to survey their boats for cracked bulkheads and an easy process to have those fixed effectively and efficiently without dragging their customers through hell for years. I still don't think Lagoons are "real" boats - both Leopard and Lagoons are charter boats designed to be as cheap as possible, meant to be mostly motored around by people who aren't staying on them for more than 1-2 weeks a year.
The problems on D1 were fixed during their repair process. So there's nothing to worry about. I, as you should, congratulate the new owners and wish them many miles of happiness and memories aboard their new boat.
That made me smile from the beginning to the end. Happy to see their happiness
I'm glad you guys are back on the tube.

Great work people helping people :))))))))))))))
These folks will love their new adventure!! Glad to see the videos return to the tube!
Beautiful people Beautiful souls Beautiful adventures up ahead!!!!❤
I love to have your family as my friends. You all are such good people.
and they have past videos of yours as tutorials on the boat...win/win

Talk about a new buddie boat?
Congrats to new owners and neighbors!!

Can’t wait to buy mine one day and receive this same kind of help from my sailing friends!🎉
Great episode!
Good job tying all this together

Are they able to get insurance on this boat with its past history?

Ty: Did your 450 have any bulk head issues that I have seen on other You Tube channels?

What did they pay for the boat?
My favorite line is always
“Overconfident and under qualified”
Basically just go for it. You’ll surprise yourself.

I think the problems have all been spotted now.. the manufacturing problems focus seems to have moved on to some of the Leopards out of SA.

what a shame , they buy the boat then straight away have to do repairs before launching it !!!
It is a Lagoon 45, and they have been shown to be poorly built.
There's only two operational states of systems on a boat: broken or about to break. This is a constant process.
Seems pretty normal. You should watch Travel Sketch… they bought a brand new 2022 Leopard and have spent a year on the hard and $93k fixing it…

Why would anyone by a Lagoon 450 after watching all the videos on its construction flaws and problems.
At least the problems are known and how to address them and what to watch for.
