I could watch Dom cut grass. That guy was a national treasure. Clean comedy and everyone feels good. Very missed and to be honest we need more big hearted fellas like him around now more than ever.

Ugh not even 2 mins in and I’m trying not to cry. Watching your father, who has passed, who my mother-also from Brooklyn, loved and has also passed away. December 2016. She would’ve loved this. Whenever I watch Fatso, I imagine her sitting and watching it with me. Cracking up to her fav scenes♥️ I miss her.

I just watched FATSO for the mill. time...1 of my favorites scenes "He Ate the ONY" on Anthony's B' Day cake!

Mine too! I love to see the old neighborhoods, mom & pop shops, etc. I enjoy his cooking vids wit his Mom because they capture the essence of a humble time. Not sure but I believe Anne Bancroft created the film FATSO just for Dom. May they RIP....Rich Blessings to us ALL.

Sounds like Dom Deluise is saying "Alluhvoyll" when he says Olive Oil. And that's one of many reasons we love, miss & need him. His voice was so loving and happy, it instantly made us feel better than whatever mood we were previously in. Dom, you rule.

I'm Lebanese. I see so many similarities between Lebanese cuisine and Italian cuisine that when he uses olive oil and garlic and lemon it just glads my heart. Dom is someone who died too young. Maybe at least another 10 years, before he saw the COVID pandemic but after he was able to at least comment on our state of affairs.

I have had the VHS tape of this since the 90s, and love his recipe for Pasta e Fagioli at 16:39 . The love Dom shares with his family is wonderful.

Dom DeLuise is a such a puppy dog of a man. I loved him in his live action roles and the characters he voice acted (all of them) and I have been wanting to get a hold of his recipes to cook and see what his skills in the kitchen were like.

I love Dom, be he a comedian, an actor, or a kitchen chef. Inspiring me in new dishes to mix up an otherwise boring menu I made for myself. Watching him not only make delicious food but the way he handles himself with friends and family makes me realize what we're missing in a genuine and goodhearted people in fame today. Miss him like many others do. Bless you Michael for uploading this in your father's memory.

I grew up on the West side of New Rochelle, NY in the 60's and 70s.
It was mostly an Italian neighborhood then.
One thing you don't get from watching these videos is how wonderful those
Italian Food stores smell when you walk in the door.

I was blessed enough growing up to watch great people like Dom. Let's face it most today don't have this. I always imagined he was a pretty good dad, always seemed to be the life of the party. Genuine and loving. You can just see it in him over the years. He's missed, I'll say that. I couldn't image anyone not liking him. Long live the 80's. He inspired me to cook.. I remember watching him thinking gosh if only I could cook like that. I am probably not nearly as fun to be around or know for that matter.. but I can cook pretty well no thanks to watching him and I would claim to have a sense of humor. Well, most of the time.

Hey, thanks for posting this. Your fathers 1st cookbook was the first cook book that I bought in HS. Arguably at the foundation of what eventually led me to culinary school. The storied and recipes had so much in common with my mother (Italian from Paterson, NJ), that I bought her and my brother a copy. We all still have them to this day. I recently saw a copy selling on Amazon for $85!!!!

Thank you for this video. This brings back memories of cooking with my nonna growing up, which were the best memories of my life. Plucking fresh basil and tomatoes from our tiny garden just like your dad and grandma are doing here. I watch this whenever i miss her too much and it makes me cry thinking about those times. The love for food and family shines through in this video and is something to be cherished.

What a beautiful relationship he had with his mother. What a kind man. I love his children's book "Charlie the Caterpillar". I read it to my children, and the preschool children I taught, and to my grandchildren. It got so worn out that I had to laminate the pages and bind them together with a shoestring. I still love that book and I think that the man who wrote it had a big, wonderful heart.

happy i seen this. i havent heard the name "aiellos" in years! loved that supermarket off of bath ave and 18th avenues. they had the best italian cold cuts and specialties at that time. aiello and his friend both made the mozz and rice balls as well as the fried proscuitto bread. it was incredible! you can smell that all the way to bay 16 st off cropsey ave, as aiellos was off the corner of 18th ave and cropsey. i remember vinny since i was 8 years old. michael, if you check this, wonder if that apartment is still with a family member. i think the home was near scarpacci's. my grandfather knew your grandmother.

@@MagickerMike awesome to hear michael. i went to bath and 18th, well the whole area. aiellos is gone sadly. luckily i remember how to make all they sold. i still watch the video about once a month when feeling homesick. that neighborhood had a tradition. maybe not a good one, go to school, grow up, shop at aiellos, victory memorial hospital if sick. then when a loved one passes away scarpacis. hope your family is doing well michael.

Michael, I have had an Ebay search for these tapes absolutely forever, and no one ever sold any. This is fantastic to find! My husband and I learned nearly everything about cooking from your dad's videos. I made Pasta "Fazul" for my dad all the time when he was alive. These are a treasure, and for you, I'm sure they're beyond precious. Thank you for sharing. Your father brought a lot of joy to this world, and had a unique way of teaching cooking, in that it was fun and informative. God bless you.
